Hi everyone and welcome to the first episode of the series and the season and everything all together. So, I figured the best way would be to obviously introduce myself for some of you who don't know me or some of you who kind of know me but want to know like who am I really and just a short intro of myself, I figured that it would be important for you to kind of, you know, find out who am I listening to and who is this person that is coming out here and giving me advice. Although a lot of the episodes will be hosting and interviewing a lot of amazing and professional people in different sectors in this, in like nutrition, in gut health, in sports, health, fitness and the whole shebang but I figured that obviously it's important for you guys to know who's hosting all of these people and to kind of, you know, maybe give me a bit of credibility and reference for you guys to know, you know, what I've been through, what I've done in my life and all of that. So, without further ado, welcome to the first episode. All right, so, I have lived in Qatar for about 27 years so far and counting. I came here in 1996 and it's been a beautiful journey ever since. I have gone to QIS, I went to Shoeifat and later on went to Texas A&M where I studied petroleum engineering and then I went on to basically work for a few different companies, each one that I stayed with around two and a half years or so and I started working with obviously in the oil and gas sector so I stuck to my petroleum engineering kind of full-time job but at the same time I didn't want to give up my passion for helping people and for sports in general because I had been playing sports especially squash growing up and I pretty much turned into like the professional part of it and almost almost but not quite ended up with the national team but I never really got to represent the country and then basically I played things like gymnastics, you know, running, basketball and basketball went on with me till college and I played squash just for fun later on and then I eventually turned into helping people with PTing because a lot of people would come and ask me because they see how active I am and how I play sports and all of that so I decided to help people and even help my own family in that sense by taking my certification in the fitness instructor level two and then I went on to take my fitness instructor level three and then all the certificates came along like I went on to take kettlebell course, the boxing instructor course, what else, and Pilates, bar, the whole shebang, you know, just anything and everything really that is possible out there almost and I guess I did do it for the passion that I have for exercise, for the physical part of it, the mental part of it, and it became an addiction obviously throughout the years and I loved helping people doing it professionally and making sure that they do it safely as well so I went on to basically do two jobs where I'm a full-time engineer and a part-time personal trainer. Now, who am I as a person? You may ask. I may be a bit zany. I'm quiet but I'm loud. I'm silly but I'm tough sometimes. I love chocolate. I love traveling around the world. I have several hobbies from these are like rollerblading, dancing, so many things, anything fun really, anything active like jet skiing, anything with a motor. I'm all in for that and there was a time as well where I got my scuba diving license. I got my motorcycle license and what else did I do and yeah, I love skydiving although I did it a couple only two times maybe but I would like to get more into that and the kind of workouts that I do, I love doing everything. Some of the people who know me pretty well know that I love studio hopping. I love cycling. I love boxing. I love weightlifting, CrossFit, yoga, Pilates, bar, the whole shebang really and yeah, so I do give group classes and I do give personal training classes or personal training sessions. I give virtual sessions so basically that's for the people who either we don't have let's say the same timing or they're in a different country and I also do programming where basically people who know how to work out and have good technique but need help with their programming to know how to get better in a specific area whether it's endurance, whether it's building strength, whether it's building muscle or a combo of all. Now, so at the moment as I said, I am an engineer full-time and a personal trainer part-time. I'm also a TV presenter for the fitness segment on the morning show on Alaraby TV, on Alaraby TV 2 specifically and hopefully now maybe a podcaster just an upcoming new fresh, you know, fresh fish kind of in the podcast world so I'm still learning as we go but I do have a lot to talk about. I do want to shed so much light on so many topics and I believe that so many people in this community have a lot to share from their experience and I would love to bring people together because we are obviously a not so big community in Qatar but I believe we are sort of separated in the sense that you have the, you know, triathletes, you have the crossfitters, you have the weightlifters, you have the, you know, the, I don't know, the triathletes and all of that so I feel like it's really important to bring all of these people together and we kind of pretty much a lot of us know each other but it's nice to know how, you know, we can bring all these communities together and share whatever knowledge and experiences that we had throughout and I believe that connecting everything as well in terms of your mental health and your physical health and your gut health are really, really important so that was the main, I would say, focus of this podcast is to make sure that people understand how all of these are connected and the fact that you can't and it's not a good idea to pick one over the other but rather they all work together as one so I hope that you enjoy this podcast and I hope that you tune in for all the episodes there is a little bit of something for everybody and the part where as well we talk about our own experiences so in the sense that on the other hand if I want to talk about the experiences that I've been through I've obviously been through a lot personally and I will try to share as much as I can I've been through personal trauma through my childhood with my family maybe we'll delve into that a little bit and touch base on that to kind of, you know, maybe help others who are going through the same or who, you know, are trying to get through their own type of trauma and how to deal with it and how, you know, the physical, emotional, mental and gut health all plays a big role into that and the impacts that come after, you know, such traumatic experiences in your life and at the same time I have also been through terrible situations where I've been dealt a bad hand at work and, you know, from harassment to, you know, sexism to whatever it is that you can think of I've been through a lot of that so I have a lot to share with you guys and I hope you do tune into a lot of the episodes like I said I am going to be hosting people from all different walks of life I would say so all the episodes will pretty much be real raw and unedited I do want to make you feel like we're just having a short discussion and that's something that you can listen to like I said while you're on your way to work or just a, you know, a short ride to wherever you're going but just an entertaining kind of chill conversation with a friend and hopefully, you know, and obviously some of the episodes as well will be a combo of Arabic and English and some will be English only so tune in for that I will eventually hopefully try to set videos for those but at the moment we are gonna stick to the voice podcast so hopefully you guys enjoy it and like I always say I'll see you guys around and ciao for now bye
