The main ideas from this information include: - Trials and challenges should be embraced with joy because they test and strengthen faith. - Asking God for wisdom will result in receiving it, but must be done with belief and without doubt. - Believers should be humble and find pride in their circumstances, whether humble or rich. - Perseverance under trials will lead to receiving the crown of life promised by the Lord. - God does not tempt, but temptation comes from one's own desires and can lead to sin and death. - One should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger, as human anger does not produce righteousness. - It is important to rid oneself of moral filth and accept and act upon the word of God. - True religion involves caring for orphans and widows and avoiding pollution from the world. - The speaker prays for understanding, transformation, and the filling of the Holy Spirit. - The speaker invites others to seek prayer and promises to Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish the work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lack wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position, but the rich should take pride in their humiliation, since they will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant, its blossoms fall and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business. Blessed is the one who perseveres. Under trials, because having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. When tempted, no one should say, God is tempting me, for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone. But each person is tempted when they are dragged down by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and sin, what it is foregrown, gives birth to death. Don't be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters, every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly light, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruit of all he created. My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this, everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word, but does not do what it says, is like someone who looks at his face in the mirror. And after looking at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently unto the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it, not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it, they will be blessed in what they do. Those who consider themselves religious, and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongue, deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. One thing that God our Father accepts, as pure and thoughtless, is this, to look after the orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by this world. Let us pray. Dear God, as we come before you, we thank you for the word of God, Lord, how it instructs us, Lord, in every aspect of our lives. Help us, Lord, to measure up. Help us, Lord, to read and understand your word. Help us, Lord, to want to be more like you, in the name of Jesus. Give us patience. Give us compassion. Give us care for one another. Give us the spirit of forgiveness, oh God, in the name of Jesus, we pray. We thank you, dear God, that we don't have to be like the world. We thank you, dear Father, that we can measure up, and we can read your word, dear God, and the Holy Spirit can fill us, dear God, Lord, and take out those roots, Lord, of evil, and take out those roots, dear Father, of pride, and those roots, dear Father, of anger and wrath, oh God. And, Lord, we're asking you, Lord, to fill the void in our hearts, oh God, with more of you. Fill the void with your joy. Fill the void with your peace and your righteousness, in the name of Jesus. And as we read the word, God, we want to be more than just readers of the word, or students of the word, but we want to be doers of the word, dear God. We want to walk in your footsteps. We want to be more like you in our thoughts, in our mind, dear Father, but we want to be able to go forth, in the name of Jesus. Thank you, dear God, for giving us the Holy Spirit, that we could be all that you called us to be, in this last and evil generation. Thank you, Lord, for your word. Thank you, dear God. We praise you, oh God. Thank you, Lord. Amen. This is Robyn from New Generation Christian Family Matters. If you need prayer, please call us. If you have something to say, I promise we will listen.
