The importance and Power of Prayer in the Home. The power of Love practical parenting encouragement
The speaker reflects on the importance of prayer in her family and the impact it had on her life. Her mother would pray for their protection, asking for divine intervention against violence and darkness. Prayer is seen as a way to access God's guidance, wisdom, and strength. The speaker encourages praying for healing, forgiveness, and victory over sin. She emphasizes the need to pray for children, youth, and young adults, and to demonstrate love and patience towards them. Teaching by example is also highlighted, including time management, money management, and managing emotions. The speaker concludes with a prayer for God's protection and guidance. Mom routinely came into our room and gently placed her hands on her feet as she interceded in prayer for each of us. Of course she assumed we were fast asleep, but her sincere desire was for her children to know God in a very real way, to seek his truth and then wholeheartedly choose to follow Jesus. In my mom's heart, she prayed God's protection and release of heavenly angels to bless our going out and our coming in. She prayed for our protection against violence on the school campuses and on the streets of inner city neighborhoods. Don't you know that prayer releases divine protection in the spiritual realm and the natural realm? Prayer releases divine protection against satanic activity, works of darkness. Works of darkness are powerless when the believer operates in the authority of the name of Jesus. Amen. Mom and dad faithfully prayed for us and with us, as well as spoken to our lives the calling of God to be movers and shakers in our generation. They prayed that we would stand for what's right and they prayed that we would be light in the darkness and then walk strong in faith and effectively in the service of ministry. Our home was truly a house of prayer. I remember that we would pray, we would read the word. That was just part of our daily activities. Devotion values was in our home. Devotion in serving the Lord with all of our hearts. Thank you mom and dad and my grandparents for this rich spiritual legacy you left us. We will and we did pass it on to our families and generations to come. We know the scripture in Joshua says, I believe that's found in 24 and 15, as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Friends and family, never underestimate the power of intercessory prayer. Prayer is the pathway to spiritual breakthrough. We can pray for healing, for forgiveness, for deliverance from drugs and alcoholism and we can pray for victory over sin. With prayer we can move the hand of God and faith for our family and for others. What a beautiful thing to stand on the truth and promises of his word and then lift him up with a heart of thanksgiving and prayer. Even more awesome, prayer sharpens sensibility to the voice of God in our hearts and the guidance of the Holy Spirit in everyday life. We can trust the Lord to give us wisdom, to give us courage, strength to go on when we are feeling weak, stability, joy when we are feeling sad when the spirit of heaviness is upon us, peace in the midst of confusion. All that we need to have abundant life. Jesus says I have come to give you life and that much more abundantly. I have come that you might overcome challenges and to walk in victory. Do you believe that? Praise God. So with high priority, let's continue to pray for our children, pray for our youth and pray for our young adults every day. Trust me, prayer changes things. Do you believe this? So continue to share the love of God with them even as they grow in grace and Christian maturity. It is also important for us to demonstrate healthy love toward our children. We have to hug them every now and then and show respect and have patience and compassion and long suffering. I know sometimes our kids get on our last nerve, but just as God has patience with us, we have to have patience with our loved ones and that's found in 1 Corinthians 13 and 4. We're also to teach our children, not only by what we tell them, but by example, how to manage their time. Make sure the Lord has his time. It's pretty good to get up early in the morning, that's what I do, and try to pray and read God's words. Sometimes our days are so busy we forget, but if we give the Lord our first fruit, I believe he honors that. We can show by example how to manage our money. We can show by example how to calm our anxieties and fears and things that sometimes bother us or get under our skin, strong emotions, anger. We can manage those and our kids are watching and they learn by how we deal with our challenges. Practice good ethics, that's really good. Eat healthy, get good exercise and self-discipline. Your child will learn by what they see. Thank you, dear God, for this podcast of New Generation Christian Family Matters and God help what we say and what we share, dear God, to help somebody. Lord, in the name of Jesus, protect our children, dear God, and we ask you, Father, to help us to have the desire to set up a time that we pray, seek your face, and that we come before the throne of grace and bring all of our petitions and our supplications and our needs. We thank you, dear God, for being the God that you are. Lord, we ask you to protect our children, surround them with the angels, keep them from hurt, harm, and danger, oh God. Lord, help them to grow up to be the men and women that you're calling for this last and evil day and give parents wisdom, give them, Lord, the strength that they need, Lord, to bring up their young ones, dear Father, to be men and women that love you. And God, whatever is accomplished, we'll praise you, we'll glorify you, we'll lift you up. Thank you, Lord. Amen. This is Robyn from New Generation Christian Family Matters.
