Nothing to say, yet
The speaker discusses the importance of knowing one's identity in Christ. She emphasizes that our identity is not determined by our titles, achievements, or material possessions, but by our relationship with Christ. She explains that knowing our identity in Christ helps us understand our purpose in life and empowers us to fulfill it. She also highlights the story of the prodigal son as an example of someone who lost their identity, but eventually found it again through their relationship with their father. The speaker encourages listeners to be born again and seek God to discover their true identity and purpose. identity of Adam and Eve, and eventually he succeeded in doing that. So even if God says something about your identity, you still won't believe because identity has been stolen, and this is just what the devil wants. He wants to stop you by all means from knowing your identity because if you do, you will become a threat to him and his kingdom. Now, to every man and woman that God created, he created them for a purpose. And for you to know that purpose, you must know yourself in Christ. You must know who you are in Christ. Now, the devil, we are being made to understand that he's a corny, sorry, the serpent who is the devil is a corny person. He will even make you to believe what is not real. And his mission is for him not to allow you to have that identity, for you to know who you are in Christ. Because if you know that, it will be a threat to himself and to his own kingdom. He knows that if you know who you are, you will be able to win the world for God. You will be able to win those lost souls for God. Praise the Lord. Are we there? Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Are you following? Yes, ma'am. Now, let's look into the book of Colossians 1, verse 27. Colossians 1, verse 27. To whom God would make known. Okay. To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the orb of glory. Which is Christ in you, the orb of glory. Christ in you, the identification of your identity. Christ in you, the revelation of your identity. Praise the Lord. So, if you don't know Christ, then you can't know who you are. So, your identity is attached to you knowing God. Your identity is attached to you knowing Christ. Our significance and purpose is in Christ. Your identity is not in the title. There are many people they felt, you know, when they asked them, who are you? You know, they were like, tell you, I am a lawyer. And I am a surveyor. I am this. I am a medical doctor. No, your identity is not attached to the title that people call you. It is not attached to the things you have. It is not attached to the material things you have. Your identity is not attached to what you have or the kind of position that you are holding. Your identity is not attached to the degree you have, you know, you have accomplished. To the degree you have. So, that is why some people chase shadows for many years. If you can, you know, if you observe, there are many people, there are many people, the government workers, that after retirement, if you go and interview them, right immediately after retirement, you see them, you see them facing one challenges or the other. You see them being depressed. You see them being frustrated. Why? Because they did not, they did not get to know who they are. Praise the Lord. Do all people retire and remain in depression and sadness all the days of their lives? Because they never know who they were or they are called to become or their assignment. Many people just, you know, they just, they have this work, yes, they are medical doctor, but yet, within them, they are not satisfied. Within them, they are still asking that, who am I? What am I called to do here on earth? So, they live the remaining days of their lives in identity crisis. They live the remaining days of their lives being confused even after the achievements they've gathered. They still feel, they still have this confusion. So, the devil knows that if you know who you are, you will take the word for God. Let's, let's, let's, let's, let's look into the book of Luke chapter 15, talking about the prodigal son. Praise the Lord. Talking about the prodigal son, Luke chapter 15, verses 11 to 32. I read, and he said, A certain man had two sons, and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that fall into me. And he divided unto them his living. And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his sustenance with riotous living. And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land, and he began to be in want. We eventually see that this very, this very young man, okay, a certain man had two sons, and one of the sons, the youngest, just woke up to the father, Father, just give me the portion of, of my own inheritance. And after the father gave him all that he himself thinks he owns, he went far away. He left the father and went far away, and spent everything. And after spending, after spending everything, where he is, there was a famine, and he became, you know, stranded. It was while he was there that he now became conscious of himself. My father had many slaves, even the way I am feeding, they are not feeding like that. Now, this, this young man already lost his identity. While he was still in his father's place, he was unable to recognize who he was. You know, he was unable to recognize that, oh, I am the son of a wealthy man. He had forgotten that his father had everything that he could use, or he could, you know, possess, that at least for my father to have wealth is also for me. So it was when he had, you know, spent all, he has run around, even after collecting those things, after gathering those achievements, he then realized that, no, this is not who I am. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. It is only in Christ you can know who you are because in Him we live. It is only in Christ I can know who I am. It is only in Christ that you can know who you are because it is in Christ you live. Because it is in Christ you move. Because it is in Christ you are the breath of your existence. Praise the Lord. It is in Christ that you can know, okay, why am I even created? What is the reason? There is something, there is something behind me still being alive. There is more, there is more to me being a dental technologist. There is more to me being a medical doctor. There is more to me being a technician. There is more to me being an electrician. Praise the Lord. There is more to it. And for you to know the more that is in it, you have to know Christ. Now if you know your identity in Christ, even when you do go through challenges or problems, it won't affect you. When you know yourself in Christ, even when you are passing through challenges, it will not shake you. It will not change who you are. I'm sorry, I want to give an instance of our Father in the Lord. There is something He used to say. He said, if He is teaching, oh, He is always happy. He is always happy even if He has not eaten anything. So far He is teaching and He is passing life through the Word of God too. In teaching the Word of God, He is satisfied. Whether He has eaten or not, whether people check up on Him or not, whether He is loved or not. So far He is doing that which is called teaching, He is fulfilled. So this means that our identity, most times or sometimes, is tied to our purpose. Now the purpose for Adam is to dominate the earth, to subdue it, to replenish it. And his identity, his image is in being created in the image of God, being created in the likeness of God. So our identity is mostly attached to our purpose in life. And there is no how you can know your identity, there is no how you can know your purpose in life without you knowing Christ. Because it is in Him we ourselves can be revealed. It is in Him that you can know who you are. Praise the Lord. I want us to remember that it is not all that achievement that we have gathered. I want us to know that it might not even be that thing you study in school. Praise the Lord. So your achievement does not reveal who you are. Your achievement is not your identity. Your identity is in Christ. Sometimes some people go through challenges and they feel God has abandoned them. Sometimes we need to know if we are His sons. Sometimes we need to know if we are His sons, if God disciplined us. There are many times that we pass through challenges. The challenges might not be as a result of our sin. It might not be as a result of demons. It might be God disciplined you. It might be God disciplined us. Maybe we have missed the track. In a way, it will somehow bring some challenges across our ways. Just for Him to discipline us and to draw us back to Him. The funny part is that in that situation, many people tend to fail. In that situation, many people tend to be frustrated. And even forget God. Praise the Lord. So as a child of God, there is an identity you should have. And because of your identity, there is something mighty you are carrying. Because of your identity in Christ, there is something so mighty that you are carrying. There are many people that went to school of law. And at the end, you see them preaching. That is their identity. There are many people that in school, they read Mascom. They did this, they did that. But at the end, you see them singing. That's when they sing, because of their identity in Christ, when they sing and because of what they carry, when they sing, you will see the power of God moving in their midst. So even when there are challenges, it doesn't change them. When there are problems, it doesn't stop them from being who they are. So your identity is tied to your purpose. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Your identity is tied to your purpose. So how do you know your identity? The first thing for you to do is to be born again. If you are yet to be born again here, you are missing out. Because you can't know your identity without you giving your life to Christ. You can't know who you are without you giving your all to Him. And when you are born again, you need to know, you need to ask God, God, what have you proposed for my life? Because your identity is tied down to your purpose. There are many people that they are living not their real self. Now, okay, because they say that, oh, this is my friend. Okay, there are many times, and it is common to take on these school students. You know, when we are in GSS3 then, there are many people that follow suits. You know, we have the commercial department, the science department, and the arts department. So some people, because they are tied to their friends, they tend to like, maybe such friends, you know, like the person just wants to become a medical doctor, so the person falls into the science department. So because they are tied down to their friends, then they decided to follow suits. Oh, my friend is a science class, so I myself, I want to be there. So for you to know who you are in Christ, for you to know your identity, you must ask God who has created you. There is no body on earth that God has not created without purpose. As I am, I have my own purpose. So don't, because your friend is a journalist, and God, and probably that is a calling, and because of that, you felt, okay, she's been, she's making it in that position. So because of that, you also want to do that. There are many people that it is just maybe Facebook marketing, and they are really excelling in that. So because you are like, oh, what this my friend is doing, I can't do it, it's not for me to do this, it's not for me to do that. No, you can't identify yourself in such way. You can't identify yourself by following suits, what your friends, or even what your parents want you to do. Your identity is being known in Christ Jesus. And the truth is many people have lost this. There are many people that are living in depression. There are many teenagers because probably they were sexually abused, or probably because they had a broken relationship. So they tend to like put themselves in a shell, which makes their identities most times to be covered. One of the symptoms of identity crisis is what we call no self-esteem. There are many people that are suffering from no self-esteem because they don't know who they are. Let me give my friend as an example. When I was in higher institutions, I was singing with my uncle. And at that moment, if you yourself sing it then, you will be like, who is this because I look so thin. So then my uncle would be like, you are not beautiful. And that very thought got into my head. And because of that, I became someone that couldn't express herself. I couldn't express myself. But when they tell me to come out and do something, I don't usually have anything to say. Until I gave my life to Christ. It was when I gave my life to Christ that I started coming out. I used to be a shy person. It was when I gave my life to Christ that I was able to express myself. And that started for me leading prayers. When I lead prayer, at the beginning of me leading the prayer, I used to feel scared. But when I start, in the next two minutes, you will see that the boldness will come from nowhere. That is the power that we can receive when we know ourselves in Christ Jesus. Praise the Lord. I don't know if we are following. If you are here and you are yet to know your identity, that means you are suffering from identity crisis. That means you are yet to discover who you are. And the only way you can discover yourself is in Christ Jesus. So I don't know if you are ready to find yourself in Christ. I don't know if you want to know who you are. I don't know if you are satisfied with the way you are. There are many married women that are yet to discover themselves. There are many married men that are living a fake identity. There are many youths that are living a fake identity. The life they are living is not their real self. And this could be as a result of maybe they have been maltreated. Or they have been told down. Because many times the words we speak for the parents, the words we pronounce, the way we talk, when our children offend us, it has an influence on them. And that kind of influence, if we inflict them to the extent that they won't be able to associate themselves with people. Praise the Lord. So I want us to open our mouths and begin to appreciate God for His Word. I want us to thank God because in Him we have our purpose. Because in Him we have our being. In Him we have our identity. There are many people that are living the identity that the devil has given to them. There are many people that are living in fear. The devil says that the Lord has not given us the spirit of fear, but the spirit of sound mind. The spirit of power. So let's begin to tell God, Lord, I give myself to You. Lord, I surrender myself to You. Show me who I am in You, Lord. What is Your purpose for my life? What do You want me to become for You? What do You want me to do for You? Lord, I... Lord, I surrender myself to You. Lord, I surrender myself to You. Lord, I surrender myself to You. Lord, I surrender myself to You. Lord, I surrender myself to You. Lord, I surrender myself to You. Lord, I surrender myself to You. Lord, I surrender myself to You. Lord, I surrender myself to You. Lord, I surrender myself to You. I would like to briefly ask a question to her. Sister, thank you for that teaching. May the Lord strengthen you more in Jesus' name. My question is that she made mention of people that your achievement does not mean that is your identity. And there are so many people that are doing well in their field and achieving things. And believing that is what they are called for. So, I want a clarity of somebody that is doing well and how come you are doing well in your field or whatever you are doing and that is not your identity. If you are doing well in that aspect.
