The podcast discusses the concept of manifestation and whether it is real or just a dream. Manifestation is when someone dreams of or says something out loud and it ends up happening. It is uncertain if this is just a coincidence or if manifestation is real. There is a science behind manifestation, which suggests that if people believe something will come true, there is a higher chance it will. Perception and mindset play a role in manifestation. The TV series "Manifest" explores the idea of people having the power to predict the future. Manifestation became popular during quarantine, with people using methods like journaling and vision boarding to make their dreams come true. Albert Einstein believed that imagination is important in manifesting what we want. While there is no conclusive evidence that manifestation is real, it can be a positive asset in life. To practice manifestation, be specific and realistic with goals, visualize them, make them tangible, and believe in them. Hey all, it's Olivia back with my next episode from my podcast series, Reality vs. Perception. In this episode, we will cover one of my personal favorite topics, is manifestation real or simply a dream? Now let's dig deep and solve the world's biggest question. First, let's go over what manifestation is and why it is such a big debate. Manifestation, as defined by Vocabulary.com, is the public display of emotion or feeling or something theoretical made real. In layman's terms, when someone dreams of or says something out loud and it ends up happening, they consider this a manifestation. For example, some people believe that if they manifest getting an A on a big exam, then they will for sure get that A. Now the real issue is that we are unsure if this is simply a coincidence or if manifestation is a real thing. It isn't necessarily predicting the future, but wishing for something good to happen and that wish coming true. Wouldn't that be incredible? Is wishing upon a star true? Is the long-lost theory of putting something into the universe and it coming true reality? We don't know. And this is the big inquiry and there is still no solid answer. However, we can hopefully come closer to a solution in our research today. Like everything else in the world, there is a science behind manifestation. The theory behind this concept is that if people believe something to come true, then there is a higher chance it will indeed come true. According to psychology today, our reality is based on perception and something called the self-fulfilling prophecy. Now this is the way people behave and the difference between their mindset being positive or negative. This causes a supposed bias, which does make sense because if someone has positive thoughts, then they will look for the ways in which their manifestation worked. Whereas on the other hand, someone with a negative mindset will look for ways to believe that the manifestation was not real at all. In this case, manifestation seems to be only based on mindset and perception. I have recently been super interested in an NBC TV series, Manifest. The whole storyline is based around a plane that disappeared for five years and miraculously reappeared carrying the original passengers. They hadn't aged a day when they came back to Earth, but the strange, unique power that they all held was the ability to predict what was going to happen. Each of the passengers went their own ways to live their own lives, however all ended up coming back together because some shared the same thoughts while others had this calling to almost save the world and protect people. The show got its name because the people on the plane had this superpower to manifest what will end up happening in the future. This show is so interesting because it brings a true story to life and shows how manifestation might be slightly real. Now back to the real world. Manifestation became a big thing during the time of quarantine because people had more time on their hands to think about and take part in these trends. TikTok, which has become one of the most popular social media applications, had a viral trend where people used this manifestation skill to make their dreams come true. It gave people something positive to think about in a time of hardship and difficulty for many. Manifestation was another way of following the positive affirmations and believing in them. The different ways that people manifested were by journaling, vision boarding, and saying positive affirmations out loud. The manifestation methods depend on an individual basis as one method may work for some people but not others and vice versa. Plenty of people still practice manifestation and continue to live by it to this day. According to the Daily Aztec, Albert Einstein said imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions. Basically, it is saying that if you put your mind to something, then you aren't likely to succeed. What we dream of is what will come true. In this sense, we may determine that manifestation is simply a dream and the use of our imagination. However, the dream that comes true is reality. Perception versus reality is such a major debate because no one really knows how things become real and how the world goes around. We do have theories but nothing is certain. The world is a very mystical and magical place. All we can really conclude is that manifestation is believing in the fact that the universe will determine your fate. According to the UK website, Independent, psychologist Dr. Carolyn Keenan told the BBC, mind me, sorry, that the lucky girl syndrome phenomenon found on TikTok and other social media platforms is related to confirmation bias which is the tendency to process new information as confirmation of one's existing beliefs or theories. Now, this does make sense and completely revolves back to the positive versus negative mindset. Overall, there is no concluding evidence that states that manifestation is real and not simply a form of believing or someone's mindset. Manifestation is real in the fact of hoping for something good to happen or wishing for the best, turning your desires into reality. Manifestation is certainly a great asset to one's life because they will believe in superstitions and keep a positive mindset. Now, if you found manifestation interesting and want to try it one day, then here is how to do it. First, be specific and realistic with your goals. Think of what you will be able to achieve in the certain time frame you are giving yourself and make it doable. Second, visualize your goals. Create a vision board in your head of what you will need to reach your goal. Think of positive affirmations to encourage and motivate yourself to keep going. Third, make your goals into real life. Writing your dreams down or saying them out loud can drive you closer to reaching your goal. Fourth and final one is to simply believe. The best is yet to come. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my podcast. I hope you learned a lot about manifestation and have considered trying it one time. Continue to believe and you will succeed. Thank you and have a great day.
