Please don't start lady, please Yes, my favorite girl is We're just going to give you a briefing about what it is And what we plan to do for this coming up summer I thought she was finna talk Anyway, so I'm going to give you the short version because she was going to give you the long version Anybody that know my mom knows she's very theatrical She's very dramatic Yes, that's where I get mine from, but she's worse You call me worse You are worse when it comes to the dramatic Hey, look, I took drama in college And I was pregnant with her when I was on main stage Probably what she did to her I definitely said this is where I get it from Okay, so basically our podcast is Just something that can encourage us as black women To be ourselves, our authentic selves To encourage mother daughter relationships Maybe heal some mother and daughter relationships I say this all the time, this is literally my favorite girl But that does not mean I like this lady all the time And vice versa We've gone through so much together And honestly it really hurts my heart when people say They do not have a close relationship with their moms Because I do not know where I would be today Without big homie G.O.D. up there And without this lovely lady right here So honestly, we just came together And it's something fun, but we also want to inspire We also want to help reach out to all of our sisters And the brothers could be in here We could educate y'all on how to love your black woman You know, how to love your black mom And I want to add that The transition into womanhood Because as a parent, you're prone to Always teach your child as a child But now that you've grown up and developed into your own woman I now have to share that space with her So it's not just mom, the one that's in charge It was just so hard for her to let go Are you kidding me? I thought I did a good job No, she did And I was so shocked I felt like when I was becoming No, when I was becoming You had a stronghold It was a stronghold But when I became of age She done said nothing to me No, I don't know about that She probably should have said it No, you did Okay, let me not say that She did But, you know, me I get my stubbornness from her So of course I didn't listen What stubbornness? You're very stubborn I am not stubborn You're getting off track, ma'am So the purpose The purpose of this podcast And honestly, another thing is You know, my mom has, you know, a brand I do LA Brand LA brand Yeah And, you know, I'm really proud of her For starting her own business Like, shout out to you First of all, she does resumes Cover letters First of all, she's a professor Hello She literally started teaching I see She's literally a professor Shout out to Azusa Pacific University You know, graduated in what? 2018 Right before the pandemic And then she goes back to school And graduates again Like, what is You going back She purposely went back to school Who does that? Learning never ends You learn You learn from life You learn from experiences You learn from mistakes You know And so you never want to get to a place Where you know it all You know We're constantly learning And let me tell you something Most of my learning came from this young lady right here Talk about writing Because as a parent, as a mother Your children are constantly teaching you About yourself And not only that I'm growing at each stage That she's growing and developing So it could be a challenge Because you don't You know, you want to be a perfect mom But in reality We're not perfect You know, we make mistakes A lot of mistakes A lot of mistakes Okay, wait a minute Hold on I don't know about a whole lot of mistakes A lot of mistakes But when I did mess up Okay, I messed up pretty big You know But let me tell you something Even as a mom I was not too proud to go to her And tell her I was Girls!
