The speaker discusses Kanye West's controversial statements and personal beliefs, as well as his influence on the United States. They interview two individuals to get their perspectives on Kanye's influence. One person criticizes him for his offensive remarks and actions, particularly towards Taylor Swift, while the other praises his creativity and artistic contributions to music. The speaker acknowledges the conflict between Kanye's personal beliefs and his musical talent, expressing mixed feelings about him. It's like that when someone comes up and says something like I'm a god everybody says who does he think he is Generation I am Shakespeare Hey everyone Welcome to my podcast where today I will be talking about Kanye West and his influence on the United States Obviously, there's been a lot of controversy lately with Kanye and you know all of the racists and the horrible things he has said and that's why I think it's really important to talk about because I Kind of want to know how people view not only Kanye's personal influence, but the influence of his music and how those two are intertwined I Took the time to interview our very own Tali McCleary and I just kind of asked her, you know how she felt about Everything that's what's been going on with Kanye recently and his personal beliefs and personal influence And just kind of her thoughts on that and here's what she had to say Having so many issues with like just like saying so many wrong things and I'm like Man it really it's really fucked that you guys like chose somebody that's like Shitty to stand and it's like me and I'm like, I'm like a huge Taylor Swift fan obviously So like for me like see everything go down with him being like this horrible person after the horrible things that he's done to her I'm just like Then that's a bitch. I was a bitch like he's always been this person It's just now coming out and that's what's crazy to me It's like I'm seeing all this stuff happening and I'm like You've always been this person and you can see that with some of the actions that you've done Like there's been little like pieces Of him being like this crazy person and and now that it's all coming out like everything he's done like makes sense like So, I think it's pretty obvious that Kanye West is a very controversial person when it comes to his personal influence But I do think it's also important to look at His musical influence because he is a musical artist and he does have such strong meanings behind his music I found an article where John Bellion who is the artist of the very popular song all-time low talked about how Kanye West influenced him to drop out of college and You know pursue his dreams of becoming a musical artist and now he is really popular And so I wanted to see if anybody else had a similar Viewpoint This is why I decided to interview my little sister Zoe Her and I tend to have very similar viewpoints when it comes to Kanye's musical influence and I just wanted to hear her take Kanye West is just such a creative innovative and an artistic person He's so honest in all of his lyrics and just shows that you're not like alone in whatever you're going through He takes his social views important issues and even his own experiences and just puts them all into his music He kind of created music that's going completely out of the boundaries of hip-hop and more into the art world and he just he just changes the whole realm of hip-hop Taking all of this into consideration My thoughts on Kanye tend to lie somewhere in between He's this horrible person and he's a musical genius I think the racist and offensive beliefs that Kanye shares are unforgivable and Nobody who has a platform his size should be able to spread such hate and still retain a fan base But since my life revolves around music I am in awe of his musical abilities His music is unlike anything I've ever heard in the sense that it has so much emotion and is so well thought-out And I've toyed with this idea of whether or not Kanye's influence is solely good or bad However, I can never choose just one side Since his work clashes with his personal beliefs I think we need to look at Kanye in two categories the first being his personality and the second his music Hey good morning
