The speaker begins by acknowledging that God is faithful, good, and amazing. They believe that God is speaking to His people and wants them to understand His message. The speaker refers to a passage from the book of Luke, where Jesus appears to two disciples on the road to Emmaus. Initially, the disciples do not recognize Jesus, but as He explains the scriptures to them, their eyes are opened and they realize who He is. The speaker emphasizes the importance of faith and believing in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, even when it's difficult. They highlight how the scriptures point to Jesus' crucifixion, resurrection, and the salvation He brings. The message concludes with the disciples realizing their hearts were burning within them while Jesus spoke to them. Good morning, everyone. I hope everyone is having a great day today. It is Friday, 10 a.m. September 8, 2023, and our God is faithful. Our God is good. Our God is amazing. And this morning, I have a message from the Lord, a message that will open our ears to understand what it is God is trying to say to His people. Yes, God is speaking. God is wanting us to understand what it is He is saying to the body of Christ, because it's only in Christ that all things are made new. It is only in Christ that all things start to make sense, that even when we, in our natural mind, cannot comprehend, we can look toward the Scriptures. We can look toward God. We can look toward the hills and say, from where does my help come from? My help comes from the Maker of heaven and earth. He is the Lord God Almighty. But sometimes we can be staring truth in the face and can't comprehend it, but it's only until God opens our spiritual ears to hear the message, and He opens our heart to understand the message, and He opens our spiritual eyes to see what we cannot see in the natural eyes. Oh, I know this message will bless you as it has ministered and blessed my heart. So let's get right into the Word of God. We are going to be reading from the book of Luke, chapter 24, beginning with verse 12. And the Word of God says, But Peter arose and ran to the tomb, and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves, and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened. Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem. And they talked together of all these things which had happened. So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were restrained, so they did not know him. And he said to them, What kind of conversation is that you have with one another, as you walk and are sad? Then one of those whose name was Cleopas answered and said to him, Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem? And have you not known the things which happen therein these days? And he said to them, What things? So they said to him, The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet mighty, indeed, and word before God and all the people, and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death and crucified him. But we were hoping that it was he who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened. Yes, a certain woman of our company who arrived at the tomb early astonished us. When they did not find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said he was alive. And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the woman had said, but him they did not see. Then he said to them, O foolish ones and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken. Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded to them in all the scriptures and these things concerning himself. Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and he indicated that he would have gone further, but they constrained him, saying, Abide with us, for it is toward evening and the day is far spent. And he went in to stay with them. Now it came to pass as he sat at the table with them that he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they knew him, and he vanished from their sight. And they said to one another, Did not our heart burn within us while he talked with us on the road and while he opened the scriptures to us? So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven, and those who were with them gathered together, saying, The Lord is risen indeed and has appeared to Simon. And they told about the things that had happened on the road and how he was known to them in the breaking of bread. Now as they said these things, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them and said to them, Peace to you. But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit. And he said to them, Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your heart? Hallelujah. Oh, this message that the Lord has placed in my heart to speak concerning the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the doubts that a lot of the times arise within our hearts, and the tough time that we have believing that Jesus Christ has risen from the grave with everything that the scriptures before Jesus came to this earth spoke about, refers to and always comes back to Jesus Christ. The Word of God says in the book of John that the Word is from eternity. Well, who is the Word? The Word is Jesus Christ. Everything that was made, was made for, through, and in Christ. So that in the end, we would be able to see that everything that is on the earth, everything that was made, and formed, and created, was created for Christ, through Christ, and in Christ Jesus. So as I was reading the scriptures, I noticed something very, very interesting, that before Jesus comes into the picture, and he tells them, Why are you having a conversation that is leading you to become sorrowful and downcast? You have already heard from Peter, and from the women who have testified that Jesus was not in the tomb. I was not in the tomb when they came to visit me. And Jesus tells them after that, What were the things that you heard? Cleopas came and said, You have not known? Are you the only stranger here that has not heard of what happened to Jesus of Nazareth? That those who came to take him away, the Pharisees, those who had come, the rulers and the chief priests, to deliver him to be condemned to death, and then we hear that as he was placed in the tomb, that he would be risen. But we have yet to see Jesus Christ risen. A lot of the times, when God gives us a word, or there is someone else who has seen the glory of God, and that person comes to relay the message that God has allowed them to see, those who are around them have a tough time understanding what it is God revealed through that other person. And so many times, we want God to give us that revelation. And this is exactly what happened to one of the disciples, and his name was Thomas. Thomas wanted so earnestly to believe that Christ was risen, but for some reason, although he heard it from the mouths of others who had seen that Jesus Christ was risen, Thomas had a hard time believing it. And so for that reason, the scripture says that when Jesus appeared to Thomas he showed him physically the marks of his crucifixion, and after showing Thomas the marks of his crucifixion, he goes on to say, Blessed are those who without seeing believe, who without seeing walk by faith, in knowing that although they could not see the resurrection taking place, they believe with their hearts that it has taken place. And so the Bible says here that they were walking a seven mile trip, and in the midst of them walking, a man shows up, and a man who goes by the name of Jesus went with them, and he started talking with them, and Jesus drew near and went with them, but their eyes were restrained so that they did not know him. How many times has God spoken to our hearts? How many times have we had that encounter with God, yet still not knowing that it was with God whom we had that encounter with? I believe there are certain moments in our lives where God will speak to us, but he will also permit us to not understand what it is he is doing, because everything that God does, it always serves with a purpose. God, in his mercy and in his grace, knew everything that was going on within their hearts. He still chose to ask this question, What things have you heard? So they said to Jesus, the things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, that he was a great prophet, and how the chief priests and the rulers delivered him to be condemned and to death and to crucify, and we were hoping that it was going to be as Jesus said it, and that Israel would be redeemed, and besides all of that, it is the third day since all these things have taken place, and not only did they say this to Jesus, they also go on to say that two people have confirmed the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and Jesus tells them, O foolish ones and slow of heart, to believe in all that the prophet has spoken. Ought not the Christ to suffer these things and to enter his glory? And then he goes on to say, he expounded to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. This means that while they were walking the seven miles to get to Jerusalem, Jesus was talking to them about the scriptures. Jesus was letting them know that confirmation just doesn't come from what you can see. Confirmation comes by what you hear, and before the foundations were laid out, the scriptures have already pointed to the crucifixion and the resurrection and the salvation of Jesus Christ. He talks about Moses, and he says, and beginning at Moses and all the prophets, we're not just talking about Moses, we're talking about the books that Moses wrote all point to the crucifixion, the resurrection, and the salvation that Jesus Christ brought among the earth in rescuing and saving and redeeming and sanctifying us and allowing us to have inheritance to the kingdom of God through what Jesus Christ has done on the cross. And the Bible says, then they drew near to the village where they were going, and how it came to pass, as he sat at the table with them, that he took bread, blessed, and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they knew him, and he vanished from their sight. And they said to one another, did not our heart burn within us while he talked with us on the road, and while he opened the scriptures to us? Oh, hallelujah! This is the point of the message of our Lord and Savior, that even when we have doubt, even when it's hard to believe, even when we find it difficult to have faith, even when our hope turns to hopelessness, Jesus will never relent in getting his message of salvation to us, because he is for us, and he wants us to understand that even though we may be filled with sorrow, even though sometimes we may doubt what God is doing in our lives, sometimes we may doubt the very essence of what Jesus Christ has done for us on the cross, but even with all of that, Jesus will still meet us on the dusty road. No matter how many miles we are traveling, he will meet us on the road, he will talk to us, he will have a conversation with us, and he will turn our mourning into dancing, he will turn our sorrows into laughter, because that is who our God is. Jesus wants to have an intimate relationship with us, and he is willing, even though we doubt, even though we may hear the message of the gospel through the prophets, through evangelists, through our pastors, through those who come to minister forth, even though we doubt, even though we feel in our hearts what is going on. I don't understand what the scripture is trying to tell us, but I want to let you know that even with your doubts, come to the cross, even with all of your fears and failures and your worries, come to the cross, come walk the lonely road, Jesus will meet you there, right where you are, and he will open up your understanding, and he will give you revelation, just like he did with these men. These men have pure confirmation from those who went to the tomb, from those who witnessed the resurrection of Jesus Christ, not just by him not physically being there, but having visions of angels speaking to them, letting them know, why do you seek the living among the dead? Oh, Jesus has risen, and they went back, and they told the disciples what they had witnessed, and for some of them, it was still hard for them to grasp the concept of what had just taken place. Oh, but even with all of that, Jesus will meet you on the road, Jesus will meet you as you are walking your road of doubt, while you're walking your road of worry, while you're walking the road of fear, while you're walking the road of discouragement, and he will speak to you, and he will begin to reveal to you what is in the scriptures. The very word that has the power to set us free. Oh, and this is exactly what happened, but the Bible says that when Jesus first came to them, they did not recognize him, but as Jesus began to speak, he said, I will come with you, and I will sit at the table with you, and I will speak with you, and I will break bread with you, and I will bless it for you. And the moment that Jesus broke the bread, and blessed the bread, the Bible says that their eyes, their eyes were opened, and they were able to understand who was before them. Hallelujah. Praise God. I want to let you know that Jesus is illuminating your understanding right now. Hallelujah. And the Lord allowed them to understand who was before them. Hallelujah. And the next thing we see is when they were speaking to one another, they said, did not our hearts burn within us while he talked with us on the road, and while he opened the scriptures to us. Hallelujah. And they arose that very hour, and they returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven, and those who were with them gathered together, saying, the Lord is risen, and has appeared to Simon. And they told about the things that had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the breaking of bread. Jesus wants you to know that the moment you begin seeking him in the scriptures, you are going to find him. And the more you find him, the more you will fall in love with him. The more you seek him, the more you are going to know and understand. Hallelujah. That Jesus loves you, and he will move heaven and earth just to seek you out. Just to walk that road with you. Just to talk to you. Just to let you know that I see you where you are. I see you in your doubt. I see you in your worries. I see you in your discouragement. And yet with all of that, I will break bread with you. I will reveal things that your eyes have not seen, nor your ears have heard. And when I get done, hallelujah, testifying of who I am to you, you are going to do like the disciples did. You are going to say the Lord is risen and has appeared to those who have preached the gospel. Those who have prophesied. Those who have foretold of the coming of Christ. Hallelujah. And the word of God says, now they said these things. Jesus himself stood in the midst of them. Now as they said these things, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them and said to them, peace to you. Hallelujah. Peace to you. When God gets done revealing who he is to you, you are going to feel a peace like you've never felt before. Do not walk any longer thinking to yourself that God wants nothing to do with you. Because he is willing and ready to walk that lonely road with you. He is willing and ready to reveal himself to you. And maybe God has permitted thus far for you to walk in discouragement. To walk, hallelujah, with doubt. To get to this moment right here. This moment that God will illuminate your understanding. That way you are able to go out into the world and proclaim the gospel. Proclaim liberty to those who are in captivity. Everything that God does has fulfillment. And God is saying, I am here. I have been with you. You have not recognized me because the veil has been over your eyes. But today the veil comes off. Today is the day that your mourning will be turned into dancing. Today is the day you are going to go out and you are going to tell your family, I had that encounter. Jesus opened up my spiritual eyes. Jesus opened up my spiritual ears to fully understand now the message of the gospel. Hallelujah. I know that God is about to do the impossible in your life. He is the God of the impossible. Jesus is for us. He is never against us. And he will do everything necessary to show us exactly who he is. He is the Christ. He is Jesus. He is our Savior, our Redeemer, our Healer, and so much more. Oh, I pray this has blessed your heart. And I pray that you will continue to seek the Lord because he has so much to show you and so much to tell you. You are loved by the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Oh, I pray that this has blessed your soul. Until the next time, bye bye for today.
