Clothing is a necessity. It is a way of life. When we get dressed, not only do we protect our immunity, but also it reflects our personal identity. but also it reflects our personal identity. Joshua was standing before God covered in dirty cloth. Before Joshua walked in the ways of the Lord, God wanted to purify him. It is written, And the angel of God answered and spoke unto those that stood before him, saying, Take the filthy garments from off him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will cloth thee with rich apparel. Zechariah chapter 3 verse 4. We can see clearly that Joshua's filthy garment was taken away and replaced with rich apparel because the Lord has wiped off his iniquity. You know, one thing is certain. All who believe in Jesus and profess faith in God through him have been given a garment of salvation. But the question is this. What is the spiritual meaning of this garment? In fact, this garment is the very life of God that we put on, like the Apostle Paul explained to the Galatians. Galatians chapter 3 verse 27. He says, All of you who have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Hallelujah. In other words, this robe is the new man we put on when we became Christians, when we have responded to God's invitation. In a way, it is the character of Christ that we put on. According to Paul in Colossians chapter 3 verse 10, the requirement, however, is that the character of Jesus must continue to be represented in the believer till Jesus returns. Otherwise, he could not enter into the wedding room. I will explain the reason why I am using the word wedding room. For example, if we consider life events, we can see that when a woman prepares to get married, the very first thing she deals with is her wedding dress. Isn't it? If she doesn't have that dress yet while the marriage ceremony is approaching, this means that she is not ready. You know, one thing is certain. At the end of the age, all believers will be invited to attend the wedding of Christ on His return. Revelation chapter 19 verse 9. There it is written, And the angel said to me, Write, Blessed are those who are called to the wedding feast of the Lamb. You know, I am the bride of Christ. We don't have to wait for the groom to show up to put the wedding dress on. Our wedding dress has to be worn all the time because we don't know exactly when the groom is coming. Not only should we keep the wedding dress on all the time, but it has to be kept clean because it is said, Blessed are they that wash their robes. Hallelujah. You know, pathetic story of a man who was thrown into the outer darkness was reported to us. In Matthew chapter 22, we were told that a king was preparing a great feast for his son's wedding. He sent his servant to take a personal invitation to those with whom he wished to share the joy of the royal family. On the day of the wedding, the guest sat in the hall waiting for the king to enter. Meanwhile, the passage mentioned the presence of a man in lack of clothing. This man had entered without wearing suitable clothing. When the king came in to see the guest, he saw among the guests a man who had not put on a wedding garment. He said to him, My friend, how did you come in here without having a wedding garment? Matthew chapter 22 verse 12 Consumed with anger, the king ordered his servant to bind his hand and foot and take him away and cast him into outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Praise the Lord. You know, such will be the fate reserved for all Christians who do not keep their garment of righteousness on and in whom the character of Jesus will not continue to be represented till he comes back. You give the healing and grace our hearts always hunger for. Oh, our hearts always hunger for. Hallelujah! I would like to conclude this message by saying this. Through this message, we were drawing the attention of the believer to the obligation to put on his garment for the Messianic banquet. The believer must absolutely wear a wedding garment, and without this garment, he will never know eternal life. For, it is written, Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may go through the gate into the city. Revelation chapter 22 verse 14 Let's get this. There are many aspects in which every believer must participate in the fulfillment of all righteousness. It is to put on his garment. You know, the servant in the passage had been invited to the wedding. A garment had been given to him. He had received the grace of the Lord Jesus. He had received a garment of righteousness. But, he did not wear it. He did not put it on. You know, God cannot force us to wear our garment. In the case of this message, God cannot force that servant to wear his garment, because, in his nature, God does not force His children to obey Him. Praise the Lord. Let me encourage you, friend. If you have professed faith in Jesus, be confident that you have been given that garment of salvation talked about in Isaiah 61 verse 10. Make sure you keep that garment on. That wedding robe, make sure you keep it on till Jesus comes back. Unless, you do not have access to the wedding hall. Hallelujah. Well, this is the end of today's exhortation.
