Nothing to say, yet
Cowboy Church in Mahomet County is welcoming everyone and offering assistance to find seats. They begin with a prayer, asking for blessings, healing, and guidance. They mention upcoming events, including a Mexican dinner, roping practice, and a neighborhood watch meeting. They also discuss safety protocols and the need for donations. The church's founders used food to attract people and share the Word of God. They thank volunteers and announce upcoming baptisms and membership meetings. They end with some songs and encourage everyone to let their light shine. Good morning, good morning! Good morning! Welcome everybody to Cowboy Church in Mahomet County. We're glad you're here today. Do you know that it is not the last day of May? Whatever happens, may happen. And we'll keep going. Keep going, right? Alright. It looks like they've got a lot of bread stuff over there and that. If you need any help finding a seat, if I just stand around and look suspicious, one of my armed guards there, armed safety team, ushers, they're straight shooting ushers, they'll help you find a seat. We're going to kick this off here pretty quick. I have been assigned the duty of opening Cowboy Church with prayer, so is there anybody not ready? Let's pray. Dear Heavenly Father, we just thank You, Lord, for gracing Your mercy and Your patience with us, Father. Lord, I ask that You bless Your Word this morning, Father, and bless praise and worship, saying, Father, we just thank You for Your provision, Your protection, Your guidance and direction, Father. Thank You for just blessing us, Father. We just thank You. Lord, we just pray for those that are sick, injured, that You put a healing hand on them, Father. And Lord, those struggling with addictions, Father, that You'll show them the path to be set free from the bondage. Pray for those that are traveling away from us, Father, give us that passage to bring them back safely to us, Father. If there be anyone here today that hears Your Word, put it in their heart to turn to You completely, Father. Grant us that You help this church be a beacon of light to the community around us, Father. We just thank You for the joy, thank You for the love in this Cowboy Church, Father. Guide us, direct us, bless us. We ask these things in Jesus' name. Church says, Cowboy Church says, Thank you. Good morning, everyone. And good morning around the world. I hear we're still reaching out. Dinner on the ground this June will be Mexican food. And if you want to bring anything, that's fine. I do have beans and rice, and we will be having soft-shell tacos. So if you want to bring anything else, that's perfectly fine. And as it being the first Sunday of the month, we get to listen to my short, but very important, safety talk. So if anyone here is new, this will be new to you. If not, bear with us. We do have safety team in the building. If at any time that safety team yells down, get down as far as you can. Please don't get up and look around, because then you become a target. And stay there until the safety team tells you all clear. Just please cooperate with us, and hopefully everyone will stay safe. If you are handicapped, and you need help getting from the parking lot into the church, just honk your horn and keep honking it until one of our safety team members comes out, and we will get you to the church, and we will move your car. And then we'll go get it for you after church. Okay? And Friday night we had our 5th Friday Sling. Thank you, Arizona Thunder, Linda. It was wonderful. We had about 50 people here. And if you weren't here, you really missed a good time. So we will have another one in August. And hopefully, Bob, our air conditioners will all be running. And then you'll probably have to wear a sweater. Or a card because it may be snowing. Well, that's possible too, I guess. The other thing is we need to have a few more bags for our food. We're about out. I don't see many over there. But if we could have a few, we don't need to bombard it with 5,000 of them, but we do need a few extra ones. Like Walmart bags. Yep. And we want to thank Kathy and Fred and Mike for bringing in the food, or the bread today. It's so good. If you have a few extra dollars, if you could put it in the red bucket, because it does take Petro to go and get that stuff. So, thank you. Thank you, Deb. Thank you, Deb. All right, good morning, everybody. The arena team is having a meeting today after church, probably right over here. If you're interested in joining the team, please come to the meeting. Also, next Saturday we'll have our roping practice at 9 a.m. Do inform me. We had a couple of new people yesterday. I wasn't able to make it, so that's good news. So now, back to our story. When we last left, Roger was communicating with his real estate friends to try to buy this property right here, this 10-acre parcel that our church now sits. So he was able to arrange the purchase of the property in Golden Valley here. And even though there was no building on the property, that didn't stop our founders. No, it did. We built a truck wagon. It still sits out there right now. And the reason he built it is, what they did is they used food as a common draw to get people to come hear the Word of God, which is still possible. So just as Jesus did when he fed the 5,000. They were hungry, and you can't listen to the gospel if you're hungry. So he fed the 5,000. In the same way, we should invite our unsaved friends to church when we have a truck wagon or dinner on the grounds. It's a great way to reach people for Jesus. So I'll tell you the next chapter next week. Thank you. Good morning, everybody. Good morning, honey. Just a reminder for our Zone 4 Neighborhood Watch meeting is going to be this Friday at my house, 6 o'clock. If you need directions to my house or if you just have any questions, come see me after church. Also, please silence them during service. Thank you. Announcements were handed out at the door. Just review those bulletins and see all the fun things we've got going on. And people that are in need of prayer, there's a list there. So if you could take a couple names, maybe once or twice a week, and just kind of say a short prayer, lift them up, and that would be so wonderful. Let's see. We don't pass the hat here at Cowboy Church. We've got birdhouses in the back. Those are for tithing offerings. So when you're coming in or going out, just drop a couple bucks if you don't mind, and the Lord will bless you abundantly. Thank you. We have a White House. Actually, we have two White Houses located out by the east door. But our White Houses are more efficient because our plushes. A couple side notes. The women's restroom here is before you get out, the exit door. And when you're done using the restroom, please leave the door open so we can just know that they can see. Thank you. For babies are always welcome. Just make sure you clean up after them. And if you need any help with any equipment to do that, see one of us and we'll take care of that for you. Name tags. Sandy. Thank you so much, Sandy, for providing those name tags for us. She's such a blessing. She does so much for us. We thank you. Go see her if you'd like one. Baptism, I believe, is it next week, sir? Next Sunday. Next Sunday we have baptism right here. We're going to have our River Jordan here. So go ahead and sign up and we'll get a hold of you and we'll get that taken care of for you. If you'd like to become a member of Cowboy Church, we do have a meeting coming up, I believe. If you've signed up and we haven't gotten in touch with you, please show up anyway. We'll make the announcement when the membership meeting is. Thursday Sunday, just dinner on the ground Sunday. Dinner on the ground Sunday, so we can remember that. If it was a membership, that would be the same day. It would be held on the trailer right across. So just come on over. And with that, I believe. I want to thank everybody that worked Tuesday. We are getting a lot done in here. I mean, it doesn't seem like it at times, but we're old and we're slow, so it's like a steady progress. So I want to thank everybody that helped here and everybody that helped on the dance and the people that came in and set up. Thank you. I was reminded that it's June Baby's. Happy birthday to June Baby. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, June Baby. Happy birthday to you. I hope everybody's second half of their life is as good as the first half. Do we have any do-goers out there? All right. Do-goers of all ages. Here we go. All right. Morrow sings every week. Morrow, can we get you next week to sing? All right. Do-goers of all ages. Do-goers, do-goers, do you remember me? Do-goers, do-goers, do you remember me? Do-goers, do-goers, do you remember me? Way beyond the zoo. I've got a home in Florida and that outshines the sun. I've got a home in Florida and that outshines the sun. I've got a home in Florida and that outshines the sun. Way beyond the zoo. Do-goers, do-goers, do you remember me? Do-goers, do-goers, do you remember me? Do-goers, do-goers, do you remember me? Way beyond the zoo. I knew Jesus as my Savior, you gave Him food. I knew Jesus as my Savior, you gave Him food. I knew Jesus as my Savior, you gave Him food. Way beyond the zoo. Do-goers, do-goers, do you remember me? Do-goers, do-goers, do you remember me? Do-goers, do-goers, do you remember me? Way beyond the zoo. If you can't bear the cross, you can't wear the crown. If you can't bear the cross, you can't wear the crown. If you can't bear the cross, you can't wear the crown. Way beyond the zoo. Do-goers, do-goers, do you remember me? Do-goers, do-goers, do you remember me? Do-goers, do-goers, do you remember me? Way beyond the zoo. With a little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. Oh, with a little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. With a little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine. And it had the three elements of cowboy church in it, if you listen for it. Wait, we gotta start from the top with that. When the morning light arrives, I'll rise again, and I'll rise with Jesus. When the morning light arrives, I'll rise again, and I'll rise with Jesus. Yeah, baby, Jesus, baby, Jesus, You can have a little sweetness. And I'll rise again, and I'll rise with Jesus. When I'm alone, And I'm alone, and I'm all alone, And I'll rise again, and I'll rise with Jesus. And I'll rise again, and I'll rise with Jesus. And I'll rise again, and I'll rise with Jesus. My girlfriend's up in there, And my kids are all up next, And I've got something to confess, Something to me. When things just ain't okay, And I've got nothing to say, But this word I'm gonna say, Is to me, Jesus. Yeah, baby, Jesus, baby, Jesus, Oh, you can have a little sweetness. And I'll rise again, and I'll rise with Jesus. And I'll rise again, and I'll rise with Jesus. And I'll rise again, and I'll rise with Jesus. And I'll rise again, and I'll rise with Jesus. Give me Jesus, give me Jesus, Oh, you can have this whole world with me. Yeah, give me Jesus, give me Jesus, Oh, you can have all of this with me. Give me Jesus, oh, you can have this whole world with me. Give me Jesus, oh, you can have all this world with me. Give me Jesus, Jesus. I'm only human, I'm just a man. Help me believe in what I can be, And all that I am. Show me the stairway that I have to climb. So for my sins, teach me to take one day at a time. One day at a time. Please Jesus, that's all I still do. Give me the strength to do everything that I have to do. Yesterday's gone, please Jesus, And tomorrow may never be mine. So for my mistakes, teach me to take one day at a time. Do you remember when you walked among them? Well, Jesus, you know, if you're looking below, Working down on that bend, Pushing and shoving, Caught in my mind. So for my sins, teach me to take one day at a time. One day at a time. Please Jesus, that's all I still do. Give me the strength to do everything that I have to do. Yesterday's gone, please Jesus, And tomorrow may never be mine. So for my sins, teach me to take one day at a time. Yes, so for my sins, teach me to take one day at a time. Oh Lord, won't you guide me in mercy's path. My friends are like horses and must make a path. A shiny black fish with gold littered ground. Oh Lord, won't you guide me in mercy's path. Oh Lord, won't you guide me in color TV. Biggest of big screens that you've ever seen. Oh, I'll watch all the rodeos and movies for thee. Oh Lord, won't you buy me a color TV. Oh Lord, there are people with nothing to eat. No home they can go to, no shoes on their feet. They ain't got no family of no normal state. Might be a veteran of no normal state. I've got a home here that I call my own. My toilets are full and I'm cozy and warm. My kids, they're a healthy, happy queen. They're the prettiest of twins that you've ever seen. I've got a good job, I work hard all day. I've got chapel church where I worship and pray. Oh, you've got me so much more than I have to say. Oh, thank you dear Jesus for putting me away. Oh Lord, let's work it out that Mercedes-Benz. I can almost lift it up just like a man. For my health and my family and all of my friends. Oh Lord, let's forget about that Mercedes-Benz. Oh Lord, let's forget about that Mercedes-Benz. What? Little Wranglers. Little Wranglers, okay. Miss Kathy, hit them up, ship them out. Miss Ginger, any youngins want to head over to the trailer? Oh, look at that. We're going to have a big enough crew to brand here before long. Yeah. You're not going? You're not getting branded? You are branded. You are branded. There used to be a cowboy church back in Texas, cross-brand. There's a group called Branded that used to show up there quite a bit. Pretty good gospel duet. Branded. But I always figured I was branded by the cross of Christ. That's my brand. Anybody that wants to be baptized that has not already talked to me, gets me right after church because we're going to be baptizing next Sunday, for example. Right after due orders or right after whatever Bob does. And then the third Sunday this month, dinner on the ground Sunday, we'll grab us a plate and go have a membership class meeting over there. It doesn't take too long. And in our membership class meeting, we kind of go over and explain a little bit about how cowboy church works. And cowboy church is definitely different than a lot of churches that you may have been used to. A lot of churches are congregational churches in that congregational churches are mob rule. I remember when I first started pastor in an early Baptist church, the second Wednesday of every month, we'd have a business meeting and vote on paying the electric bill. And there'd be a fight about that. And we'd have a meeting about doing this and a meeting about doing that. One over half. One is the majority, so it's mob rule. Then the other half is mad all the time. Cowboy churches are built on the principle of elder rule. And we work on teams. And if you want to do something, be a part of cowboy church or something like that, working on one of the groups, you ought to get on one of the teams. And if you've got any questions about what's going on or how come this is like this or what are we doing on this or that, you can find that team leader and ask them. We start in the fall or June to summer having team meetings, which lay out their budget and their planning for the year. What they want to do, what they plan on doing, and they set the budget out and they set out their plans. And then the team votes on their plan. And unless the whole team is in favor of it, you start over. You don't do nothing. We work on consensus. And the basis for that is the church in Jerusalem, in the first chapter of Acts, in Acts, it said they were all in one place and they were in one accord. And the reason they were in one accord is because they were all led by the same spirit. And if you're not led by the same spirit, you're going to have discord. And so that's why cowboy church does the way we do. If a team doesn't agree on something, you just don't do it. Talk about it next time. And then all the leaders of each team, we have a leadership team. And the team leaders bring their budget and proposal for the year to the leadership team meeting. And the leadership team goes over that. And everybody's in one accord. And that's the way it is. And then we're supposed to have an annual meeting at which the leadership team presents the budget and the proposal to the whole church. And we do that once a year. And we started it, but then we had to recess the meeting because all of our leadership team was not completed with their stuff yet. So we never have had our final meeting said, yeah, we approve all your leadership team stuff. So we will give that meeting schedule here so we can have about five minutes to come in and say do you approve it or you don't approve it. And if you don't approve it, all your budgets are out the window. Start over again. But we will have an announcement for that, and I'll probably make that soon. I don't know if we have it in the bulletin anymore or not, but we are always looking for elders to work with the pastor and each team in the church. Now, if someone is interested in being an elder, you read 1 Timothy and Titus and see if you qualify for it. And if you qualify for it, let's get together if you're led to be part of the elder leadership team. That's how that works. Today, let's see. Greg, did I leave anything out? No. Okay. You ought to get interested and be on one of the teams. I don't know, we used to have sign-up sheets back there for the teams. Get in the teams, find out who the leader is and say, hey, I want to be on the team. I want him to be a part of it. You know, I had something else that I had in the back of my mind, but I'm real short on direction and purpose. But I'm supposed to pick her up at the airport tonight. And it's her fault that my back is so sore today because I ain't near done with that honey-do list. So if I come in next week in a wheelchair, well, she's had a good time with the kids and the grandkids and the great-grandkid. And I'm always glad when she gets to go. I'm gladder when she gets to go home. All right. My computer has a life of its own and a mind of its own. And I was listening to MacArthur, John MacArthur. I was listening to one of his messages the other day. And all of a sudden, my computer decided to go to Hank Williams. You're cheating hard. Which I thought, well, that's okay. But what happened to the message? Where'd it go? And Google has invaded my computer. And it just does whatever it wants to. It changes stations. It throws. It does it because it's trying to put advertising out there. You know, every time it interferes with everything and puts advertising in there, it clicks off something else. And if I ever run into Mr. Google, I'm going to have a talk with him because I don't like that. So anyway, much to my surprise, this morning when I got up, Lord said, my achin' heart. And I said, well, at least that ain't cheatin' hard. So I got to do some research now about achin' and my achin' heart. And achin' is A-C-H-A-N. And we'll talk about that boy a little bit. Achin' was, you know, the old Joshua bought the Battle of Jericho, right? You know, you've heard that song. Well, yeah, I see people of color don't remember that. Joshua bought the Battle of Jericho. And after God gave him a big victory over Jericho, there's another little town back up off in the hills up there named A-I. And the Israel was just real happy, you know. And Achin' was one of the guys that was one of the warriors that went into Jericho. And God gave instructions to him. Joshua passes it on to all the troops. He says, when you go in there, don't touch nothing. No one's doing anything. Don't pick up anything. Don't loot anything. Don't do nothing. Don't haul any of that garbage out of there. Leave all that stuff alone. And yet, an Achin' heart is a fleshly heart. And we all got one. We inherited it. We were born with it, an Achin' heart. And Achin', he found a little bit of gold and a little bit of silver and some clothes and stuff. And, oh man, this is better than Walmart. And so he just hauled that stuff home and never said nothing about it. And then they decided they'd go up to Ai next day, that little town up there, and just wipe them out. They kind of had some pride about it and everything. Troops gathered up. They said, ah, we don't need them. We'll just take a handful. We'll just take a little platoon and go up there and take Ai. And they went up there and they got their backside walked good. And to come back to when Joshua said, Lord, what's going on? God says, there's sin in the camp. And God don't bless us individually when we're out of fellowship. As Christians, our sins are forgiven. But when we're out of fellowship with God, we don't have God's power in our life. And Israel demonstrated that because their disobedience broke the power of the fellowship of the Holy Spirit of God with Israel, just like it does in our own lives. That's why when we're thumbing our nose at God and poking our fingers in His eye, that things don't go good. And so Achan's disobedience was poking his finger in God's eye and telling him, no, that's all I don't have to do with God's head. I just do whatever I want to in the flesh. And I like that little piece of gold and I like that silver thing and I like them clothes. They might have been Wranglers. I don't know. You know, I can understand that. But they went up there and Joshua said, Lord, what God, what's happening? God said, there's disobedience. There's sin in the camp. And it endangers the whole fellowship of Israel. The whole power and strength of Israel. Because God judges sin. And here's where we see what happened. So Joshua started calling them all up, lining them all up and getting them all down there to get down the line to get down to this family where Achan's a part of it. Yeah, he said, it's me. I took it. And he fessed up. He said, I took them. I've got them buried under my bed over at the house. Joshua 7, verse 1. But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing. For Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabadi, the son of Zerah of the tribe of Judah, he took of the accursed thing. And the anger of the Lord was kindled just to get it taken. But that's not what it says. It says, the anger of the Lord was kindled against the children of Israel. Israel is the Old Testament. Ecclesia. Ecclesia. The church. The called out ones. Israel. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against the children of Israel. Joshua said to Achan, son. He said, I pray thee. He says, glory to God. Give glory to God in Israel. Make a confession unto him. Tell me now what thou hast done. Don't hide it from me. Achan answered Joshua. And he said, indeed, I have sinned against the Lord God of Israel. And said what he'd done. And when I saw among the spoils, all that stuff up there. The silver and the gold and the wranglers. I coveted them and I took them away. And Joshua and all Israel with him. They took Achan and the son of Zerah and the silver and the garments and the ways of gold. And his sons and his daughters. His oxen and his donkeys and his sheep. His tent and all that he had. And they brought them into the valley of Achor. And Joshua said, why hast thou troubled us, all of Israel? The Lord shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones. And burned him with fire. After they'd stoned him with stones. The whole lot. Is God serious about being obedient? Is God serious about being fessed up? Bringing up well-being maybe? But it didn't stop with Israel. Their judgment in the early church. In Acts chapter 5. We find a couple in the church there. And the church was doing real good. And man, they were just adding three, four, five thousand every few days. You know. And said they were all in one place and in one accord. And one of the guys had a piece of land. He sold the land. He gave it to the church to help. Because a lot of them was away from their jobs and everything. They were in Jerusalem in the church. They'd come for the holidays and everything. And then church got going. And there they were. They were still there in the church. And they had to eat. And so they all ate in common. And then some of them donated their stuff. What they had and stuff so everybody could eat. And everybody thanked Barnabas. Barnabas, thank you Barnabas. I think that's what his name was. For, you know, helping out and helping us all eat. And Anna, Nice, and Saphira thought, Well, we've got a piece of land over here. Why don't you send yourself it? And they sold it. And then they agreed to themselves. Anna, Nice, and Saphira. They said, We just, we sold that land for $50,000. But we'll just tell them we sold it for $40,000. And you'll keep $10,000. We just don't have to tell them. So Anna, Nice, and Saphira, they come to church. And they plopped it on down. And they said, Here, we sold that piece of land. And brought all the money in here for you. Peter said, Anna, Nice. Anna, Nice, wife of Satan, fill thine heart. The light of the Holy Ghost. I got it, Arden. It's that woman God gave me. It's her fault. Peter said, Anna, Nice, wife of Satan, fill thine heart. The light of the Holy Ghost. And keep back part of the price of land. Now, the Bible's clear. There wasn't anything wrong. She was keeping some of the money. The problem was lying about it. There's no requirement in there to, unless God leads you to do something, to do something. What's yours is yours. You know, that's the way it is. That's it. But, if God tells you to do something, you ought to listen to him, whatever it is. And, but Peter said, You know, wife of Satan, fill thine heart. The light of the Holy Ghost. Well, the moment that they decided that they were going to lie to the church, they were out of fellowship with the Holy Spirit. They didn't have the power of the Holy Spirit to resist temptation, to give them strength to stay away from sin. And so the flesh took over. And there they were. The flesh was leading them. And they said, Well, we just won't pat it on the back because we said we gave it all. We gave all we had. We gave it all. Well, while it remained, it was yours. And after you sold it, it was all yours and all in your power. Why have you conceived this thing in your heart that you lied unto the men but unto God? You've not lied to the men, but you've lied to God. And then, in these words, he fell down, gave up the ghost, and great fear came upon all them that heard the things. Don't they imagine? You know? God's grace and His mercy, His love, His patience with us. If it wasn't for that, we'd have corpses laying everywhere around here. Every church. You know? Because we've all got aching hearts. They're hearts of flesh. And unless we walk in the power of the Spirit, we act like aching. That's the way we are. When we're out of fellowship, we don't have His power and His protection in our life. Well, they wrapped him up and hauled him out. And by the time they got back, his wife showed up and said, oh yeah, we did that. You know, confirmed the lie. And she dropped dead too. They hauled her off. That... I don't think there's any churches that tough anymore. You know? But, this church was all in one place. And they were all in one court. And there was 3,000 new souls added one day. And there was 5,000 new souls added another day. You see, God bless us. When a church walks in agreement. And when a church walks in the power of the Holy Spirit. And the church is made up of the individual living stones. All of us have these aching hearts that we have to contend with. That's why we need to walk in the power of the Spirit. They had a struggle in the church of Corinth too. In 1 Corinthians chapter 5, it said, it's reported commonly, that there's fornication among them. And such fornication is not so much as named among the Gentiles. Paul was writing to them. He said, you know, he said, the pagan ain't even as crazy as what you're doing. He says that one should have his father's wife. And you're puffed up about this guy. And rather than mourn him, you just let it go on. That he hath done this deed might be taken away from him. For, Paul says, I'm not over there right now. But I'm present in spirit. And he says, I've already figured it out. As though I was present there concerning this deed. He said, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you're gathered together with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of his flesh. You don't have to boy, keep after it. You know, let God take his hand off of you and the devil will flail on your flesh. But that your soul be saved. See, he was a Christian. He's just prodigal. Just living and tolerating his aching heart. Purge out therefore the old blood that you may be a new blood. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. Galatians chapter 5, verse 13 says, For you've all been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. Don't use your freedom to satisfy your aching heart, your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command. Love your neighbors as yourself. But if you're always fighting and devouring one another, watch out. Beware of destroying one another. So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won't be doing what your aching heart, your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil. Which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces constantly fight each other. So you're not free to carry out your good intentions in the flesh. But when you're directed by the Spirit, you're not under the obligations of the law or the flesh. But when you follow the desires of your aching heart, your sinful nature, the results are very clear. What's the results? Sexual immorality like the guy there in Thorium. Impurity. Lustful pleasures. Idolatry. Sorcery. Hostility. Quarreling. Jealousy. Outbursts of anger. Selfish ambition. Dissension. Division. Envy. Drunkenness. Wild parties and other things like these. Let me tell you again as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life has got an aching heart. That's what it says. But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives just walking in the fire of the Spirit. It doesn't mean just being saved. It means being prayed up, fessed up, well fed, walking in the Spirit. But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives. Love. Joy. Peace. Patience. Kindness. Goodness. Faithfulness. Gentleness. Self-control. There's no law against these things. Those who belong to Christ have nailed the passions and desires of their aching heart, their sinful nature, to His cross and have crucified Him within. They walk in the fire of the Spirit and they don't give in to the lust of the flesh to act like that. Since we're living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit's leading in every part of our lives. Let us not become conceited or provoke one another or be jealous of one another. We look back in the history of the Bible, we see that David had an aching heart. David lost his family in his kingdom. Adam got kicked out of paradise in the garden because of the aching heart. You've got to watch your mouths. If any man among you, this is James chapter 1, if any man among you seems to be religious and bribed with not his tongue, he seeks his own heart. This man's religion is vain. 1 John 3 18 says, My little children, let us not love in word only, neither in just acting like it, but in deed and truth. James 3 8, But tongue can no man tame in the flesh. He's got an aching heart. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. James 3 6, And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. So is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature, and is set on the fire of hell. Every church I've ever been in in my whole life, when there was dissension and problems in the church, it started with somebody sprouting their tongue. It always does. Even so the tongue is a little member, boasts of great things. How great a man are little fire kindled. Confessions agreeing with God, believers are already forgiven. But when we face up, we agree with God that, yeah, I was walking in the flesh. I was letting my aching heart run me. Psalm 66, verse 16, Come and hear all ye that fear God, and I'll declare that he hath done for my soul. I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue. If I regard iniquity in my heart, if I hang on to an aching heart, and keep acting in the flesh, the Lord will not hear me. But every, but barely God hath heard me. He hath attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy. God heals every prayer of repentance. And our in obedience when we face up, our confession is a sacrifice offered to God. It's a sacrifice, a peace offering. John 6, 37, All that the Father giveth me, shall come to me, and him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out. You know what the gospel is. We've heard it many times about the jailer in Philippi. You know, sheriffs back then, they were appointed by the king. I'm glad Biden don't appoint our sheriffs, but we've got to vote for them. And they said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. The sheriff was afraid he was going to be killed by the king because earthquake come and knock his jail down. He didn't have anything to do with it. But earthquake come and act of God come and knock the jail down, and he's afraid prisoners got away. Penalty for prisoners getting away is death. Didn't do his job of killing, that's his fault. Yeah, but the earthquake knocked the jail down. Well, it's not earthquakes that knock churches down. It's the evil of aching hearts, tongue, and actions. He said, what must I do to be saved? And they told him. He said, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Romans 10, 9, Thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart, God raising from the dead, thou shalt be saved. I declare unto you the gospel, by which also you're saved. Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day, according to the scriptures. If any man among you seemed to be religious and bribed with not his sum, he'd seek his own heart and his religion in vain. But 1 John chapter 2 tells us that we've got a lawyer on staff. My little children, these things I write unto you, that you sin not, it's a whole lot better if you don't sin, for we've all got aching hearts. And if any man sin, we have an advocate, we've got a lawyer, with God the Father as a judge, to which the devil is standing up there today, accusing you, show-pointing out your aching heart to God the Father. God the Father says, Holy Spirit, is that right? Did he say that? Did he do that? Holy Spirit says, he sure did God. Just like the devil said, he did that. God says, well, disobedience, penalty for sin, that's death, separation from me. But your lawyer, the advocate, the Lord Jesus Christ stands up, and he says, Father, he's a believer, he's trusted us. My blood has covered his sin. He's saved. Father says, is that true, Holy Spirit? Yeah, he said he'd probably fess up some. And he's your son. God says, get out of here, devil, case his sins. We have an advocate, and he's covering for our sins, not only for ours, but also for the sins of the whole world. Jesus died that all could be saved. You've got an inkling in your heart you've never trusted that, well, maybe this stuff's real, maybe I ought to try it. He just asked God to prove himself, too. He said, God, show me. Give me a believing heart. I want to learn. Trust me. Forgive me of my sins. I want you to be my Savior. He does that. And from that day on, he sets the Holy Spirit on you. Start crowding your aching heart out. Crowd the junk out of your life. And it comes and it goes, and we get neglectful in our being prayed up, fessed up, well fed. And that old aching heart jumps right back up there and starts saying stuff, doing stuff, and painting us with stuff, and then we see our peace is gone and our joy is gone and oh yeah, I'm not a fellowship worker, but like David said, return unto me the joy of thy salvation. Cowboy Church our goal is to teach people how to get along with God. It's pretty plain. Prayed up, fessed up, well fed. You can't buy it, you can't earn it, you can't join it. You gotta receive it, and God gives it freely to everybody. But then when we become His children, just like if you didn't mind Mom and Dad at home, you got punished, or you should have. And we say, and he'd come to my dad, and I'd say, Pop, I'm sorry, I didn't do it, I'm sorry. I didn't get done what you told me to. And he'd let me back at the table. God's that way with us. He's a loving Father, He's patient. He loves us. As brethren of the fellowship, as brothers and sisters, we need to love each other and get along. We need to be prayed up, fessed up, well fed. We need to keep that aching heart on the table of sacrifice, offering for confession of our sins. Dear Heavenly Father, I just thank You, Lord, for the blessings of this day to each one of us here, Father. Lord, heal those that are sick and struggling. Father, many of us have aching hearts. Father, pray keep us mindful, Father, of Your Word, that we walk in the power of Your Spirit, and we won't walk in the power of the flesh. Guide us and direct us, that we come again, Father. We ask in Jesus' name. Turk says. Cowboy Turk says. And y'all stay seated, because Joe says, Happy trails to you until we meet again. Happy trails to you. Keep smiling until the end. Who cares about the clouds when we're together? Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather. Happy trails to you until we meet again. Be safe. Y'all come back now you hear, listen to the team over here in the northwest corner.
