We have here with us our Dean of Students, Mrs. Napoli. Mrs. Napoli, how are you today? I'm good. Hello, everybody. Thanks for listening, Royal community. So, Mrs. Napoli, we want to know, what exactly do you do as a Dean of Students? That's a great question, Mrs. Dawson. The Dean of Students is the advocate for our students, so I get to oversee and handle all behaviors and academic stuff for our kiddos to make sure that we stay strong as a school and that I can help them as best I can. Wonderful. So, do you actually meet with students during the day? I do. In fact, that's pretty much all I do is meet with students all day long. So, academically, behaviorally, you may pull a group of students or one-on-one? Yeah. I even go into the classrooms and help out where it's needed or, yeah, I love to bring the kids into the library. We have a wonderful space in the back office where kids can come, which I really enjoy. There's a great calm down area for them when there's some behaviors that arise. Wonderful. One of our great sponsors here at Royal Radio is The Lunchroom and the wonderful food that they put out. Can you tell us about kind of the new lunchroom procedures that are happening this year? Yeah. We're really trying to promote positive behaviors all around our school, but specifically in the lunchroom. So, some things we're looking for is all our kids have friends to eat with. We're making sure kids actually eat their lunch. We're also trying to make sure that we keep those volumes down. So, we're trying to promote calm conversations. Mrs. Dawson and I started the Golden Spoon Award. So, every week, a new grade gets a golden spoon based on who behaved the best in the lunchroom, and that's brought some great positive behavior in the lunchroom. Wonderful. Speaking of the golden spoon, we've heard of another initiative here at St. Vincent de Paul for the school year. Can you tell us about the blue tickets? Yes. The blue tickets are another good one. So, if we catch kids being kind, being brave, or just believing in themselves or classmates, we're trying to give them out a Royal Way ticket or a blue ticket, and they get to be put into a container in their homeroom, and at the end of the week, their teacher draws their name. They get their name announced on Monday morning assembly, and they get to come to the office for a prize. Monday morning assembly. Tell us about that. Yeah. So, Mrs. Dawson and I started Monday morning assembly. So, every morning, instead of having announcements over our speakers, the kids are all joining together as a whole school in the gym. We start with just our simple morning announcements by Mrs. Dawson, and then we announce our Royal Way ticket winners, and then also announce our golden spoon winner. Wonderful. It sounds like some great initiatives. Thank you for starting those this year and being such a wonderful addition to the administration team. Now, Mrs. Napoli, we're going to do a quick fast five. We do this on Royal Radio with our faculty. So, your fast five, I'll try to give you one at a time so that you can keep track. So, first one of the fast five is tell us about your family. Yeah. So, I grew up in a family of six. However, now it's just my husband, Zach, and my dog and I. Wonderful. What is your favorite food? Favorite food, believe it or not, I am not supposed to have dairy, but I do like pizza. Wonderful. And tell us about your favorite thing about St. Vincent. My favorite thing about St. Vincent is the community. That's the first thing I fell in love with here, and I continue to. And what do you like to do outside of work? I like to read. I like to work out. I like to enjoy the outdoors and spend time with family and friends. Wonderful. And the fifth one, Mrs. Napoli, tell us what your typical day looks like at BDP. Yeah. So, I wake up, I come to St. Vincent, and I begin my day by doing car lines. Some of you see me with my stop sign. Then I head inside, I walk around the school, say good morning to the kiddos, and then I really just spend a lot of time either one-on-one with kids or in small groups. And I get to spend about an hour in the lunchroom every day, too. Wonderful. Well, thank you for being here with us, Mrs. Napoli. Yeah, of course. We're so happy to have you as part of the team.
