The second episode of the Living Limitless Podcast discusses the importance of solitude and self-reflection. In a world driven by social media and constant connection, we often fear being alone and confuse solitude with loneliness. However, taking time for ourselves allows us to sow seeds of success and address unproductive habits. Solitude improves concentration, memory, creativity, relationships, and empathy. We must not wait for the perfect moment to start pursuing our goals and must understand that the journey is more important than the destination. Postponing our pursuit of greatness reduces the time we have to enjoy the rewards. We make excuses based on insecurities, but if we truly desire a meaningful life, we should start working on what we lack instead of wasting time on justifications. Every choice we make has a cost, so investing in self-development is crucial. It takes around 21 days to form a habit and over 90 days to see meaningful results in any endeavor. Hello to everybody tuned in to our second episode on the Living Limitless Podcast. I just want to start off this episode by firstly expressing my humbleness for the work that it set out to achieve. And so for that I just want to celebrate those who also came through again for this second episode who listened to the first episode just to appreciate your presence once again. And so what my prayer and hope is is that this second episode will leave quite a lasting impression in your hearts, in your minds, and in your souls. So what are we discussing today on this second episode? Well simply put we are talking about sowing in solitude. You know in a world where social media and staying connected is a must or dare I say it's our God, we tend to feel that time alone in solitude is the equivalent of solitary confinement in a prison cell. I mean some of us are so afraid of solitude that we confuse it for loneliness and so we seek out other temporary relationships or activities that have nothing to do with the purpose for living we've set out for ourselves just to help eradicate the feeling of loneliness or the feeling of being neglected so to say. But enough of that rant and let's get down to the meat of the matter. How do we navigate the ever-present overwhelming traffic of thoughts that race through our heads every single day? I mean our environments are so concentrated with a high volume of stimuli that sometimes it's hard to process it all at once. Of course some of it is meaningful and it's value to our lives but majority of it is just a bunch of rubbish that is focused on just being space fillers in our heads. But how do we answer this evident issue? From my perspective I think you can only make sense of your life and everything that you set out to achieve when we carve out the time to make sense of our lives in a space of silence and solitude. Why do I say that? Think of it this way. If you looked at a farmer when he's about to start sowing his crops he's in a space where there are little to no distractions hindering from his intended goal which is to sow the crops that he hopes to harvest, right? He is intentional about this singular goal of making sure that his crops are planted in a formation that helps him harvest them effectively. He also takes into consideration that the manner in which he sows these crops must also allow him to remove any unsuccessful yield that will come about as well. Now similarly we need to take time to retreat into our solitude and sow seeds of success within ourselves. What does this mean? Simply put we need to put aside time to address the unproductive habits that serve no meaningful value in our lives and focus on sowing the seeds of good habits that will help us facilitate the manifestation of our subjective meaningful life and also allow us to take time to assess critically the bad harvest, if you may, in our lives and deal with them accordingly. I mean we pollute our minds, souls and body daily unconsciously and consciously but having time to ourselves helps us really realize the good harvest and reflect on the bad harvest we have within us. Some of us fail to realize the bad harvest that we harbor aka our bad habits and as a result they go unaddressed and we wonder why we cannot seem to realize the true potential that we know we possess within ourselves. We continuously self-sabotage under the disguise of the comfort we find in the similarity of our bad habits within our lifestyles. We all know those goals we want to achieve, the ones that give us an instant rush of dopamine when we imagine the positive impact it will have on us and those around us but we do not intentionally set aside time to focus on the habits that truly matter that will allow us to harvest the good fruits of our labor because we continuously neglect sowing seeds while the season still allows. We go to the extent of convincing ourselves that the right time will come and this arrogant statement assumes that we have some magical control over the future and eventually the perfect moment will appear and present itself at the doorstep of our lives. We hide behind statements like, oh, I haven't found the right time, the right moment to start and we continuously postpone our greatness in the belief that the perfect moment will appear to us. So I did a bit of research on the benefits of solitude and these are the following benefits that I uncovered. Firstly, it can help us improve our concentration and memory, which quite frankly is important for day-to-day tasks that we set out to achieve, right? It makes your interests a priority, which is the second point. We tend to know what our interests are but we lack the intentional act of making it a priority day in and day out and so that is why we find ourselves negotiating with our greatness and giving it a last priority treatment. Thirdly, it boosts our creativity. I mean, as I covered in our first episode, we are creatures that are meant to create and of all the species in the world, we have the ability to create things that are even greater than ourselves and our physical capabilities. Fourth point, it helps us improve our relationships, which is important in navigating new paths of life. If we need to get to a new level in life, we need to be able to foster new relationships. And lastly, it makes us more empathetic. In a world where it has become first nature to look after our survival first, we tend to overlook the benefits of being empathetic to those around us and those closest to us. Now, just to share a personal story of what inspired me to put this topic as our second episode, before I started this podcast, you know, I would tell myself, well, when life gives me the right opportunity, you know, when I get the right things together, when I have the right equipment, then I will launch this podcast. But I didn't realize that that statement alone was predicated on the hope that some logical moment would be presented to me where I finally just start. And I said this statement with the hope that perhaps I have control over the future and that in the future, I will create the right time. Another thing you have to understand is that sometimes we will have to endeavor these meaningful endeavors. Or rather, we need to understand that as we endeavor to live purposeful lives, at times the goals that we set out to achieve may not be fully realized, but at least we would have started the process that allows for the next person who was inspired by our journey to actually push on and achieve the goal we had intended. Simply put, we need to understand that sometimes we will have to plant the trees whose shade we may never sit under. So just because you start something or pursue something meaningful does not necessarily mean you will live to see the good fruits of that endeavor, but at least we embarked on a noble journey to create a better outcome for those that will follow after us. You know, every time we postpone the moment to start our journey to greatness, we reduce the amount of time we will have to enjoy the rewards we will experience along the way to that greatness. I'm sure a lot of us know the saying that it's not about the destination, but it's about the journey. At times we tend to forget that death is lurking around each and every one of us, like a ferocious beast waiting to pounce at the right moment, and just consume us, but yet we live our lives like we're immortal. Okay, fine, perhaps you're comfortable where you are, right? There's no need to explore your true capabilities further, right? But why half live your life that you're blessed to experience? I mean, perhaps that's why we need misfortune in our lives, right? I mean, perhaps that's why we need misfortune in our lives. To bring us back to the conscious realization that there's still more to be done with the lives we've been granted to live. We all know those things that we need to be doing to create the great, amazing, fulfilling life we hope to achieve. But for some of us, we are so eloquent in giving reasons to talk ourselves out of this pursuit, with these self-made excuses and criticisms that are founded on our deepest insecurities. We keep giving so much power to the things that keep eating at our true potential, and hoping that someday they will inevitably disappear without any intentional effort to address them. Some will say, in defense of their insecurities, I don't have this, I don't have that. So we'll wait for the right time to begin. And we rationalize not starting to sow the seeds that will give us good harvest. But my question is, if you had all those things that you say you don't have, would you still pursue that meaningful endeavor? Would you really pursue that meaningful purposeful life that you want for yourself and for your family and those closest to you? If your answer is yes, then perhaps you should start working on putting those things that you lack together, and stop wasting your time and your creativity on justifying your excuses. There are people around us who have half the tools and the potential that some of us have, but they still have the audacity to pursue the life that gives them fulfillment, despite the costs that they must bear. We have to realize that in life, everything has a cost, whether you choose to postpone the start of your purposeful living to another date, there's a cost to that. And equally so, there is a cost to starting off where you are. But at least you have the comforting knowledge that very soon, you will get to the destination that best fits your life. I mean, it's proven that for a person to form a habit, right, it will take approximately 21 days to create it. And for someone to see a change in any given endeavor, it will take upwards of 90 days plus to see meaningful results. Now with these facts presented to you, this goes to show that it is important for us to continuously invest in our self-development above anything else. Because to deny our self-development is to deny people the greatness within us that they need in their lives, to elevate themselves to the next stage of their lives, so that everyone will be able to enjoy and benefit from the improvement that has taken place within ourselves. Some of us look at our lives and say, I just wish someone would give me these tools. Not realizing that we are that someone. Some of us look at the situations around ourselves and think to ourselves, when will it get better? Well, I'd like to leave this with you and say, it's only going to get better when you decide you want to make it better. When you decide that enough is enough. And today is the day I start sowing the seeds of good harvest. So as I close this episode, I want us to take ourselves out of the comfort we have been hypnotized to enjoy and we've become complacent with. I want us to envision the pinnacle of our potential with every passing day until we realize our true purpose within. Thank you. And that concludes our episode for this week, ladies and gentlemen. So if you found this insightful, informative, or perhaps just plain boring, don't forget to leave a comment in the comment section and share your thoughts. And if you have a friend that just might need to hear this, share it with them. See you soon on the next episode.
