Lila Archuleta describes her typical day, starting with waking up and going through the usual morning routine. She attends school, with her zero period anatomy class being far away. She discusses her experience in English class and spending tutorial time in the band room with friends. After school, she either goes home or babysits her baby cousin, Jack. She enjoys this time and gets paid for it. In the evening, she showers, does homework, and spends time on social media before going to bed. This is a summary of "A Day in the Life" by Lila Archuleta. A Day in the Life, written and recorded by Lila Archuleta. A day in my life starts like any other person, waking up. Waking up is not the easiest task for me and usually comes with a good amount of restraint. Late nights leading into early mornings for zero periods is a tough battle, but it's one I've fought just about every day this school year. As I wake up, I do what everyone does in the morning. I get out of bed, go to the bathroom, brush my teeth, you get the point. When it's time to leave, I'm more on the late side of things and do my best to get to school in the most efficient way possible. Upon arriving at school, I begin yet another dreadful part of my day, walking to class. This walk is particularly troublesome for me because my zero period class, anatomy, is one of the farthest classes on campus, being on the second floor of the science building. Anyways, with this class usually comes a lecture or lab of some sort, or on my unlucky days, a test or quiz. I do my best to stay focused and on top of my work in this class, but it is difficult to find sometimes, seeing as there is much information given. But this is a class I do enjoy. Next in my day, depending on what day of the week it is, I go to either second period civics or first period English. For this podcast sake, I will go into more detail about what this day is like for me on an odd period day. After zero, I head to my English class. English usually consists of reading, I excel, and an assignment or two. Depending on if my friend Erica is there or not, which keep in mind isn't often, is typically a boring yet useful period. I do my best to stay focused on my tasks for the day, while also eagerly awaiting for the bell for a tutorial. Upon tutorial time, most of the year I have spent it in the band room. Being in Color Guard has led me to grow closer to a lot of people in the band, including a couple of my best friends. Though it isn't an as productive time as tutorials should be, we spend it cracking jokes and enjoying each other's company for a short while. After the tutorial, I don't have a third or fifth period, so I usually go home. Once home, depending on who else is home, I go to lunch with my mom and run errands, or I take a nap, or I sit in bed and relax. It always tends to be one of these three options. As of late, I'm unemployed and have been working on making money by babysitting my baby cousin Jack. I hang out with Jack for about 2-3 hours, typically starting around 4pm, and we do an arrangement of going on walks, going to the park, playing outside, or just hanging out inside. I find this to be one of the best parts of my day considering he's very adorable and I get to be paid for my time there. Depending on if I eat dinner with my aunt and uncle once they get home, I go home myself and make myself dinner or go home and relax. Once it reaches around 8-9pm, I take a shower and start to wind down with my evening. After my shower, I try to catch up on any homework I have or just watch some TV. My nights usually end with me falling asleep on social media like TikTok or Instagram at around 11-12 on a good night. Then I proceed to wake up and do it all over.
