He got married to Madeline and they fought off British and Native Americans in Murray Rapids. The problem with fur trading was keeping the fur clean from the mud and swamp. I talked to John Atkin, Jr. He said he was born early 1762. Did you get married? Yes, I got married to Madeline. He came to America in 1758. He was a fur trader who took part in the war. His wife is Marilyn. They came to Murray Rapids to fight off British and Native Americans in the mud and swamp. I interviewed John Atkin and I asked him what was the problem with fur trading.
