In this radio show, the hosts discuss NFL Free Agency and their favorite signings and trades. They mention Saquon Barkley going to the Eagles, Derrick Henry to the Ravens, and Jerry Judy to the Browns as some of the best moves. They also discuss the Dolphins' signings, the Patriots' additions to their running game, and the Ravens' defense. They talk about the Steelers signing Russ Wilson and their tough division. They mention the importance of the Steelers' defense and their tough schedule at the beginning of the season. Welcome to Sports Uncaged here on WCCU Radio, Coastal Carolina's student-run radio station. I'm your host, Sean Murphy, here in the studio with Stone and AJ, and as we all know, NFL Free Agency just opened up the last couple days, lots of big moves, and we're just going to talk about it today, get some thoughts, get some ideas that came from these signings. And so first, in this little segment we have, I want to ask you both what your favorite signing or trade or just move in general was, and what you think the best overall move was for any team. So Stone, I'll ask you first. I got to go with the Saquon Barkley. I mean, as an Eagles fan, that's just, I I just loved it. Like, seeing that, as soon as DeAndre Swift signed with the Bears, I knew the Eagles were going to go out. And Howie usually doesn't spend that much money on a running back, but kind of splurged with Saquon, but I just got to go with Saquon. It's just the best move overall. All right. What do you think was the best move overall, AJ? I saw a couple moves that I actually really liked. The Xavier McKinney move that I really liked. My favorite's got to go to Derrick Henry to the Ravens. The Ravens fan, for sure. That combo of Keaton Mitchell, the speed in the backfield, and Derrick Henry, the power back. I mean, and we run a lot of two RB sets in the backfield, so we can use Derrick Henry as a fullback a lot more, and he's just going to strive right next to Lamar, dude. And I think, especially after losing Gus Edwards, who was like a real workhorse back last year with J.K. Dobbins out, being able to switch back from those running backs like they usually do, I think that'll be super effective. I think he could lead the league in touchdowns, because he's going to get used to that goal line so much. I agree. Now, is that your favorite deal, or is that what you think was the best deal? My favorite deal was probably the Xavier McKinney. I think he's really good. I think he has a lot, still has a lot to grow. For me, I think the best deal, and also an underrated deal, was Jerry Judy going to the Browns. I think that was a great move. Get them more weapons, whoever their quarterback is. We've seen them make the playoffs, I think with such a great defense, and now getting another weapon. That'll turn out to be a great move. Stone, what do you think, so you said Saquon was your, what do you think was the best move? It was my favorite, and I think it was the best move. I think it was Dua, but I think a close second, I think Christian Wilkins going to the Raiders. I think that was a really underrated move. Pairing him with Max Crosby is just going to be ridiculous, and it's just, we've seen what Max Crosby has done to offensive lines with pretty much no help at all, and just adding Christian Wilkins in there to even help stop the run, and then, I mean, it's just going to be unstoppable. Alright, we'll get into more free agency when we come back here on Sports Uncaged. Welcome back to Sports Uncaged here on WCC Radio. Like I said, I'm your host, Sean. I'm here with Stone and A.J. We're going to recap a little bit of free agency for you today, and just to make it easy, we're going to go down division by division and just kind of look at some of these deals that were made and give our thoughts on them. So, starting with the AFC East, I have a couple bigger moves that the Dolphins made, getting Giannou Smith after not signing back, or however that worked with Mike Gusecki, he went to the Bengals. And the Dolphins also picked up Shaq Barrett and Jordan Brooks for their defense. A.J., which out of those three players do you think is the best signing for the Dolphins? I really like the Shaq Barrett trade, especially after losing Van Ginkle. Is that his name right? Yeah, Van Ginkle, yeah. Especially after losing him, that's going to be a big...I don't know, Van Ginkle looked really good this season, but he's going to fill the hole that Van Ginkle has. As an edge rusher that he's on now, yeah. I definitely like that move the best out of the Dolphins. Stone, how about you out of those couple guys the Dolphins brought in? I'd say Shaq Barrett, but I don't think the Dolphins got any better. I think you lost Christian Wilkins, and it's just...there's not enough signings that you can make to really fill that hole that you've lost. I think going out and possibly getting Justin Simmons, if he didn't sign anywhere yet, I think going next to Jalen Ramsey, I think that'd be a really great thing for the Dolphins' defense. But other than that, I don't see the Dolphins getting any better than they were last season. I agree, especially on that defensive side you said, losing Christian Wilkins. And then another point in the AFC East that I liked was the Patriots bringing back Kendrick Bourne, but also bringing in Antonio Gibson. I think he adds another layer sort of to their running game, Antonio Gibson, that receiving aspect. But from Andre Stevenson, I think they still have him, so I think that'll be a good move for the Patriots. Moving to the AFC North, we had a lot of stars, a lot of big guys get moved around. We talked about the Ravens signing Derrick Henry, but they also brought back Justin Matabeke on a four-year, $100 million deal. He had a great season. How do you feel about that, AJ? I love Beeks, man. He's literally baby Aaron Donald. At one point, he was the highest D-tackle paid in the league. Over the years, Aaron Donald is paid more, but he's technically the highest paid D-tackle in the league. So I really like the signing, even though we spent a lot of money on it, he's just going to get better and better. Stone? I have to agree with AJ, but I also want to highlight the Derrick Henry trade with the Ravens. The signing is just insane. You have Lamar and you have Derrick Henry, and that duo is going to go absolutely crazy. It's ridiculous. And I feel like people have been talking about that for a while. Ever since the talks of Derrick Henry's trades being up started getting talked about, people were posting pictures about that on social media and all that kind of stuff. I'm just really scared of Derrick Henry's regression. As he's getting older, it could be a little scarier, but now that we have Keaton Mitchell, and I think we still have Justice Hill, it shouldn't be too bad. With that Ravens system, he'll be getting the right amount of touches. I think they'll be able to manage that well. And with the Bengals, we talked about before the show them losing Joe Mixon. They brought in Zach Moss on a two-year, $8 million deal. Personally, I like that deal. That's cheap. He was a serviceable running back. They're going to be looking to throw it, obviously, but Joe Mixon really added another power back aspect to that. I don't mind that deal for the Bengals after losing Joe Mixon. Also getting Geno Stone as well. Yeah, Geno Stone, the safety, that was a good deal. Yeah, I know. That was a good deal. The Ravens' defense is just getting ticked off. I know, but honestly, we're not losing much in my opinion. Our backup linebacker to Patrick Queen, we just lost him to the Steelers. He was really good. He showed out in a game against the Steelers. I think he had 12 tackles and had a really good game. Anyone next to Roquan is going to look not as good as they probably were. Yeah, that is true. Then we talked about this one, the Browns trading for Jerry Judy. I think that really does add another aspect to their offense. Also, what I really liked was they brought him back to Darius Smith. I don't have the exact years, but I think it was for a year or two. I think it's a two-year deal. I think that's a great signing for them. He's been a great edge rusher for them, paired with Miles Garrett. I kind of want to spend a little time on this one, actually. The Steelers bringing in Russ Wilson. How do you feel about that, AJ, as somebody who might be playing against him twice a year? What do you think about that signing? I don't think he's going to survive the AFC North. I like it. It fits. Mike Tomlin and Russ, I think, will have a great system together. I think that's a great offense. They could actually be contenders next year if Russ looks good. AFC North is the most evil division. They hit hard. Steelers versus Ravens. Russ is going to be taken to the ground a lot. I don't know if he'll come out of this season without an injury. You know what I'm saying? It's kind of scary. How do you feel about the move, Spellman? I think two or three shows ago I said Russ should go to Pittsburgh. You did mention that. I think it's a great deal. You got him for less than $2 million. Which is absolutely insane. I get Russ has not been playing well. But it's just last season you played pretty well outside of those first two games. And I mean, get George Pickens. If you can keep Deontay Johnson there and you have Najee Harris. I mean, it's just an offense that can gel well if they are playing well together. You said the division is really tough, but I think if Russ really puts it together, I think they definitely could be contenders this season. I think the story for the season for the Steelers a lot is the beginning of the year. They have a tough schedule beginning of the year. We saw them play, I think, the Niners and the Bills in the first couple weeks. So I think if they can start off on the right foot, get into their division, and pick up some big division wins, I think they could have a good season with that team. I think the biggest thing coming from the Steelers, though, is their defense. Their defense is a lot more scary, in my opinion, than their offense right now. Patrick Queen on that linebacker set. Don't they have Tremaine Edmonds as well? No, they have… Or is it Terrell Edmonds? I'm not sure if he's still on the team. I thought he went to the Eagles. He went to the Eagles at one point. Then he got traded to the Titans for Kevin Byron. Oh, yeah, sorry. They were struggling at that interior linebacker for a while last season. That was definitely it. And they filled it well, I think. Yeah, Queen, Joey Porter, Minka, and TJ Y. They could just lose Patrick Peterson. Which, that's not much of a deal. I mean, he can lock up your best receiver for two catches, or he can let the worst receiver on the team go for a hundred. Their D-backs have just been weak for a while. Luckily, they could go for Tredavious White. He's still on the market. Jordan Poirier, put him next to Minka. Those safeties could be really good. I think another D-back signing would be good for the Steelers to fill some of those holes, too. Yeah, because that's where they're going to get beat a lot. That's the only thing you've got to worry about. They'll get pressure, but if they're guys, we saw that a lot. We saw a lot of penalties last year with Joey Porter being young. Going over to the AFC South, we saw a lot of bigger moves. The Texans, we talked about trading for Joe Mixon. I kind of want to hear you guys' thoughts on this one, with how the Texans kind of blew up last season. I want to hear how you guys think this deal will go. You go first. I like it, personally. I think the Texans were really – obviously, Devin Singletary, the service or running back for the Texans is just – he's not to the standard that you need for a playoff caliber contending with the Super Bowl. Yep. I think Joe Mixon's a great pickup. Obviously, trading for him, but I think he's great out of the backfield catching. He wasn't shown much receiving the ball in Cincinnati, but I think it's a great pickup either way. He'll mesh well with D.J. Stroud in that offense. Yeah, I think so, too. How about you, A.J.? Actually, the signing is really good. I think getting Joe Mixon on that squad is exactly what they needed. They needed that running game. Because Devin Singletary, like you said, is serviceable, but he's not that star potential that they needed in that backfield. They still have Damian Pierce, right? Yeah, but – I don't think he's that great, though. He was getting a bulk of their touch, and then Devin Singletary later in the year kind of overtook him. I mean, if he can be a backup, a backup guy to Mixon. Yeah, that's true. I mean, I really like what the Texans did, I actually see them as more contenders this year than I did last year. They're definitely a scary team. I would have rather them get Saquon or Tony Pollard. Yeah, I would have liked to see Saquon go there. I feel like Tony Pollard would have done really well, but I understand why they picked Joe Mixon. He's not that injury-prone, so he can last them a whole season, which is good. Tony Pollard feels like a Texans running back. That's right. A Texans running back name. I could just see him in a Texans. I feel like he's more of a receiving back, in my opinion. Absolutely. Him next to C.J. Stroud would be pretty good. The Jaguars had a couple bigger pickups. They brought in Mitch Morris and Ezra Cleveland, both interior offensive linemen, to kind of bulk up that. But they also brought in Gabe Davis, and we kind of mentioned this over the break. I want to hear your guys' thoughts on that, bringing Gabe Davis over from the build into this offense. I really liked the Gabe Davis signing. I always thought he had potential. Christian Kirk was that number one receiver last year for them, even though Calvin was there. Christian Kirk, when he played, number one. But I really like what Gabe Davis does. He's going to be a big, deep threat for Trevor Lawrence. Or Mack Jones. Or Mack Jones, yeah. I guess there might be a competition this offseason. He still has potential. He still does. I don't know. I wish I could say the same. It was a bad second season, but you put a defensive coordinator as their offensive coordinator. What do you expect? You can't really blame him. And it was a steal, a sixth round. It's kind of a steal in my opinion. We saw Trevor Lawrence. He went down with that ankle injury. Exactly. All right, we'll be back with more free agency talk after this short break. Thank you for listening to Sports Uncaged. Welcome back to Sports Uncaged here on WCCU Radio, Coast Carolina student-run radio station. I'm your host, Sean, here with Stone and AJ. We're going to continue some NFL free agency talks, kind of heading down to the AFC West. There wasn't too many key moves that I noted, but a few big players that re-signed and went to different teams. So the first one we kind of talked about before was Christian Wilkins to the Raiders. Getting a four-year, $110 million deal from the Dolphins. Stone, I know you really like that deal. Tell me a little more about how you think about it. I mean, it's just the Raiders' defense wasn't all that great last season. I mean, the cornerbacks are not top tier, but if you're able to get more pressure on the quarterbacks, giving them less time, it's just – and already with Max Crosby. I mean, he was insane with no help, and now you're giving him help with Christian Wilkins. And now you're giving him help with Christian Wilkins just to stop the run even more. It's just – I think it's going to be a great deal. But I also think, on the other side of it, with Chris Jones on the other defensive line for Kansas City. I mean, five years, $158 million is absolutely insane. And I mean, you're giving all these players money. When are you going to run out of money? When are the Chiefs running out of money? Yeah, they just gave him a Holmes, whatever, and now him. I think those two defensive lineman moves are two of the best moves in the NFL free agency. One thing that I just want to kind of note, it doesn't really matter too much, but Amir Abdul – the Raiders signed Amir Abdullah, and I loved watching him in college, but I didn't even know he was even in the league anymore. I remember him on the Lions and the Vikings a little bit a few years ago, but I just saw that, and I thought I would point that out. But also the Chiefs re-signed – were able to re-sign Snead. And we talked about Chris Jones. Yeah, they re-signed Snead and Drew Tranquil. How – that Snead, those re-signs, AJ, how key do you think that will be to them making another Super Bowl run this year? Dude, that's insanely huge. I mean, LeJarrius Snead was insane last season. I think he was more of a cornerstone of that defense than Chris Jones was. In the playoffs, especially. In the playoffs, yeah. That might be crazy to say, because Chris Jones, when he's not there, you can tell the defense is off. But LeJarrius Snead, like, no touchdowns at all. Him and McDuffie, they were crazy in them. And even Drew Tranquil, a great linebacker, that means he's been great for a few years for them. And then we talked about more on your Ravens, Gus Edwards going to the Chargers for two years, $6.5 million. Yeah, I mean, we're trying to – Cheap deal, cheap deal. It's cool, though. I mean, we got Derrick out of it, so I'm not too angry, you know. I love Gus. I hope he succeeds there. Yeah, I love him. Over to the NFC East, we got the Eagles making a few big deals. We talked about Saquon Barkley. AJ, again, I'm going back to you. I just want to hear your kind of thoughts on the Eagles getting him and the Giants letting him slip away. How do you feel about that whole deal? I mean, I don't know what the Giants are doing. I really don't understand. Like, first of all, you're trading for Brian Burns. All right, yeah. Which was a great deal. Brian Burns is young. He's good. Five years. He's really good. 100 mil. I don't remember how much exactly it was. But, like, you guys should be rebuilding. Yeah. You have no quarterback. Now you have no running back. You just lost McKinney as well. I'm pretty sure a couple of your corners are in free agency. I think they signed back a Dory Jackson. I don't think so. Do you know if a Dory Jackson, I think he's still on the Giants. I think he's still there, yeah. But I think he has one year left. Yeah, I think his contract is going up soon. The one thing with Saquon is just, like, his injuries. He's a big injury risk. It's really that. And how much is Saquon Barkley alone going to help that offense rebuild and, like, I can kind of see both sides of it. But from a fan aspect, it's, like, why would you get rid of Saquon Barkley? He's the only person. I mean, and then you're not going to use your top receiver, Jalen Hyatt, either. In my opinion. Like, you're just going to keep running your offensive scheme, running with a garbage running back. Lots of Giants fans have been upset recently. That Giants team is pathetic in a lot of ways. You give Daniel Jones, what, 40? What's those two years left on his deal? Could be the worst contract. How do you pay, well, between that and Russell Wilson, those two, those two have got to be neck and neck. But it's just, Daniel Jones, that's just ridiculous. You're not even, and then you assign Drew Locke. I saw that. Drew Locke might give him a run for the money. I think he will. I would love to see him start for the Giants. And then you don't even offer Saquon Barkley a deal. Between the Bears, the Texans, and the Eagles, they all offered him money. And the Giants saw what they were offering and they said, no, that's not worth it. Well, you're paying Daniel Jones or you're paying him. I guess that Daniel Jones thing threw it all out of whack. It's a poverty franchise right now. It's ridiculous, honestly. But going back to the Eagles, that's a really good move for them. I mean, it automatically turns them back into contenders. They flipped swift and paid a little bit more money for a guy like Saquon. Yeah, last year we saw like a bit of fall off, and the rushing game, I felt, wasn't as good. At the end of the year, they steered away from it. But with Saquon there, they're really going to be able to rely on it. And Jalen Hurts is going to get that running game going as well. It's just going to be like a Lamar and Derrick Henry. Yeah, I'm excited to see those two. I'm just excited with like the new coordinators. Yeah. We still need, obviously, some defensive help with like the safety and defensive back position. But it's just with the new coordinators, like you wipe off a clean sheet, and I think it will be very helpful. Especially after that Eagles season that they had. Yeah, definitely. Do you still have Bradbury? Yeah. But that's the thing. He was playing so well. Yeah, he was. Like our Super Bowl, like against the Chiefs. That whole season he was playing great. And I don't know what happened this year. He looked like some old guy that just stepped on the field. He was getting burned left and right. Age regression is crazy. I think he'll be better with that whole defense this season. The Eagles also re-signed Landon Dickerson. They paid him a good amount, which I think is a good re-sign for them because everybody's talking about them losing some of their linemen the next year or two. And they also brought in Bryce Huff. I like that. You like that deal, Stone? I think a big thing for them, though, they lost their safety. But I think C.J. Gardner-Johnson, losing him was really bad for the Eagles. They're talking about getting him back this year. They should try and get him back. I mean, like, dude, he was good in the Super Bowl. He was good throughout the playoffs, and he was good all year. I don't know how many interceptions he had when he was on the Eagles, but he looked great. I think he was leading the league with six for the longest time, and then he got hurt for a little bit and then lost it towards the end of the season, but they came back to the playoffs. I mean, then he went to the Lions and did the same thing, and he looked great. So I think that was the biggest thing, and Kevin Byer just couldn't fill that position. So we'll see maybe a Justin Simmons, like, not a vet contract, but a low minimum contract. Like, Justin Simmons has always been a good safety. To the Commanders, too, pretty good deal. They brought in Eckler after losing Gibson to pair with Bryan Robinson. And I'm not too familiar with the Commanders linebacking group, but they did bring in Frankie Louvu, I think you say his name, from the Panthers, three years, 36 mil. He's a young, good linebacker. I'm not sure how to feel about that. I don't know too much Commander football. I think the Commanders are having one of the sneaky, best free agencies. Yeah, I agree. They haven't signed any huge, huge names other than Austin Eckler, which honestly isn't that big of a name anymore. No, two years, $11 million. I think they're having a really sneaky, good free agency, just picking up some older but still really good guys. They're still involved. I mean, and also they're high up in that draft, dude. They're going to get a great quarterback, and I think maybe – I don't know how high up they are, but I'm thinking like Drake May could maybe land a turn. Yeah, I think they're in the top three. I definitely think Drake May is a good landing spot for them. I don't know about Jane Denton, but I feel like Drake May is going to go. I agree. But it's just like they have a good receiving core. Now they have a good running back core. They've always had a decent defense. There are a lot of no-name players because nobody knows the Commanders. They did just trade – no, they didn't. They lost Chase Young last year. Yeah, and they lost Sweat as well last year. They kind of blew that D line up and traded both of them. But they definitely could have improved second round, third round. And they needed money. They did it for a reason. Moving to the NFC North, we've got a little time left. DeAndre Swift, we saw that. That was one of the earlier ones that kind of started on the Saquon Barkley talk. How do you like that deal for the Bears and the Bears offense, AJ? I don't even understand. I really don't. Like the Giants and the Bears, dude, just straight poverty. It's going back to, like, why is Justin Fields not going yet? Yeah, they need to make a move, yeah. They're going to get Kale Williams. He's a generational prospect. No matter how much I don't like him, they're going to get him. No matter how much everybody hates him, they're going to get him because he's generational. And Justin Fields is going to sit on that bench watching Kale Williams play, and it's just wasted talent, dude. They could get so much for Justin Fields, and they're not realizing it. They also lost Darnell Mooney. Yeah. They didn't sign him back. He got paid kind of a crazy contract from the Falcons. That was nuts. I just think the Bears are, like, you've got, like, what, three running backs now that are all startable, and it's, like, if you're losing Darnell Mooney, you might as well go get someone else to fill his spot. Yeah. Either, you know, trade down, try to get Marvin Harrison Jr. to get Justin Fields the wide receivers he needs, or you get Kale Williams and you trade Justin Fields. It's like there's nothing going on, and it needs to get done before the draft. Yeah. It's just there's no urgency in Chicago. Nope. I don't even know where Fields goes anymore. All right. That's it for this segment. We'll be back. Thank you for watching Sports Uncaged. Welcome back to Sports Uncaged here on WCC radio. Going to continue some 3-HC talks. We've got a couple more divisions left. I want to kind of continue with the Bears. We talked about Kevin Byard a little bit. They signed him to be a safety this year. I don't mind that signing. But one thing I'd like, too, is them re-signing Jalen Johnson, who's had a couple breakout years. He's a battling injury, but he is really a great corner, and I see him doing big things in the next few years. And we've mentioned the Packers. I want to hear how you guys think these two signings are going to affect the Packers. They brought in Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney, which you said was one of your favorite signings, AJ, or the best signing. How do you see this affecting the Packers? I mean, I think a big thing with the Packers was injuries, and Josh Jacobs fixed that. He's healthy all season. Like, that's one of the best things about Jacobs. He might not be consistent with his run game, but he's healthy all season. So you're going to get a star caliber player the whole season and probably through the playoffs. With Xavier McKinney, he's still young. Yep. He's 25? 26. Yeah, 26. And he gets better and better every year. I mean, I really love them on the Giants, and I think that definitely elevates their defense. And their defense is still really young. This brings a good presence in to kind of focus it, in my opinion. I'll ask you guys both this question, AJ, you first. Do you see them going farther than they did this past year? They beat the Cowboys, it was, first round of the playoffs. They made the second round. Do you see them going farther than that this next year with these signings? Maybe they make the second round again, or do you see them making it not as far as they did last year? I mean, they almost made the NFC Championship. Yeah. But I definitely see a tiny bit of regression. I think they still get to the second round. But I don't see them beating powerhouses like the Eagles or the Lions. The Lions are going to be a big powerhouse next year. I don't see them beating teams like that. I just see them getting probably around the same spot. I mean, they definitely could be contenders, but it's just I don't see that much improvement with the roster to get them to be a Super Bowl contender. They definitely could be. It's just I don't see them putting it all together and having that type of season. Okay. And you just mentioned the Lions. That brought up another good point because we were talking about DeAndre Swift leaving. How do you see DeAndre Swift leaving and Jameer Gibbs taking over that backfield? How do you guys see that affecting the Lions' success in the next season? Stone, I'll go back to you. I just think Jameer Gibbs is going to be great. I mean, him and Montgomery were a great pair together. Obviously, they were injured a little bit through the season. But I think him and Montgomery are just going to be great again. And you're going to have to pay Amon Roth an extension, give him a ton of money. But Jared Goff has proven that he can play, he can be a starter, and that defense is just getting better. Might lose C.J. Gardner-Johnson to another team, but I think the Bears are going to be back, or I think the Lions are going to be right back to where they were. AJ? Agreed. Same kind of thing. I think the Lions are, I mean, they got better this offseason. They got a good corner from the Bucs. Yeah, they brought in a few good corners. That's something I enlisted. I think the corner from the Bucs, they got for like a third round, a fourth round. Yeah. Because they don't need their picks right now. They're still young, and they were almost NFC championship. I mean, like, they're a great team. They have a lot of success. The problem in the future could be paying guys like Laporta. Goff is going to want a bigger contract with how he's playing. I mean, he was the MVP candidate at one point last season. So I could see them running into problems with contracts. But other than that, they're going to be a contender for a while. We were kind of talking about this move, too, moving over to the Vikings, the NFC North. We saw the Packers say to Aaron Jones, hey, if you don't take this 50-10 pay cut, we don't want you. He didn't want to take a pay cut. They got rid of him. He signs with the Vikings immediately, along with Andrew Van Ginkle, which we talked about from the Dolphins. The Vikings had what most would say a subpar season. How do you guys see this affecting their season, bringing in a guy who had a good season like Van Ginkle and a solid running back like Jones? I just don't think they're going to be as good as even what they were last year. I mean, you lose Kirk Cousins, you bring in Sam Darnold, and that's just – it's not comparable at all. It's ridiculous. Honestly, the Vikings could go out and try to get Justin Fields. I think he might be able to work well with Justin Jefferson and Aaron Jones now. But it's just – it's not comparable to what Kirk Cousins is. You bring Sam Darnold in, obviously Aaron Jones is going to be great if he's healthy. But it's just not comparable in that division to get to the playoffs or be contenders. It's just not feasible. Yeah, the Vikings are bad. I mean, that's the only way to put it. Yeah, Kirk. Their defense already sucks. I mean, adding Van Ginkle was definitely a big upgrade for them, but their defense isn't good anymore. I mean, Harrison Smith is getting older too, right? Van Ginkle is great. Everything else is just kind of bad. He's been solid. Was it just this past season that he had, like, a lot of sacks? I think it was season four. It might be season four. Yeah, he had, like, 16 1⁄2 sacks or something. He's been solid for a few years, but like you said, nothing too special. And then Sam Darnold, just an average quarterback. Probably not going to do anything. Yeah, honestly, I would have rather James Winston. Throw in just Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, that would be a great offense. And then Aaron Jones. No, they don't have Hawkins. Aaron Jones. They do have Hawkins. Yeah, they do have Hawkins. Aaron Jones was just injured all year. So, like, what are the Vikings doing? I could not tell you. Go with one more thing, to the Justin Fields thing. I don't see any other team needing a quarterback other than the Vikings, possibly the Broncos. But I don't see Justin Fields going to the Broncos. I'd see him going to the Vikings. I like that. I like that a lot. There's no urgency in Chicago, and I just don't see Minnesota making that deal. It'd be a great deal. I know this is weird, but I feel like Justin Fields could end up on the Seahawks. That's very weird. Yeah. But I feel like Dino Smith is going to regress. He's getting older, and you see them making a deal like next season, mid-season. Mid-season, maybe next season. I know Mike McDonald had experience with Lamar because he's our old defensive coordinator. So I could definitely see them going for someone like Justin Fields. They want to get that same system going. And the Seahawks is a very similar system to the Ravens. They said they could go with Michael Penix in the draft for the Seahawks, but if that doesn't work, that's definitely an option too. Yeah. We were talking about Kirk Cousins moving to the Falcons in the NFC South. I want to hear your guys' thoughts on how much he got paid again. It was four years, $180 million. I just want to know if you guys think that was the right amount or if that was too much, too little. I don't know what other deals he got from other teams. I just want to hear your guys' thoughts on that. I mean, Kirk probably got a lot of deals. He was really consistent with the Vikings. I think he threw a lot of interceptions last year, but that year before he looked really good, and he brought them to the playoffs. And this year, if he didn't get injured, I think they would have went right back. I mean, didn't they beat the 49ers at one point? I believe they did, yeah. I think they looked really good, and Kirk is going to be scary with those young targets like Kyle Pitts and Kirk, and bringing in Darnell Mooney from the Bears. I do like that signing with Kirk. You got the great duo as the running backs too, Algier, and you got Robinson. It's just you paid a ton for him. I get you had to pay a ton for him to get him, but it's just an absurd amount. I mean, bringing in a guy like Kirk Cousins, which the quarterback position is valued. They have Jesse Bates and Terrell there on the defensive side. I feel like this team could shock some people because now this is the year we're expecting Bijon to make a huge jump after this season. He had Kyle Pitts, we're still waiting on him to make a huge jump to this superstar we thought he was going to be, so I do really like these moves. I think they'd definitely win the NFC South, though. Yeah, I think that these moves… It'll be close with the Buccaneers. Unless the Bucs, they re-sign some players. I just don't see anyone beating Atlanta. I'm glad that one team did make some moves like this because I would like to see some more competition. There always has been competition in that NFC South, but one team kind of pulled away and showed their dominance in that division. I think their idea was, we're in win-now mode. Especially in that division. You can lock up the number one seed in the division. We need to secure Kirk Cousins, so they probably gave him a crazy contract. It's not awful. I don't hate it. No. The Saints, we were talking about the NFC South, brought back two veterans, Tyronn Matthews, Mario Davis, A.J. you're smirking. Another team that's just god-awful. I can't. Do you not like those signings, signing those veteran guys that were on their team? It's cool, but what are you doing? The Saints should be in reboot mode. So you think they should just drop their money, let these guys get off, let younger guys play. Get Michael Thomas out, get Derek Carr out, restart. You have Chris Olave, you have Rashid Shaheed, am I saying that right? Yes. You have really good wide receiver core, and you have Alvin Kamara. What pick do the Saints have? I believe it's somewhere in the mid-team. Because they suck and they're a mid-team. But they contend because of the division. Yeah, but then you're just tanking your draft. All right, not much time left here. We'll be back after this short break here on Sports Uncaged. Welcome back to our last segment here on Sports Uncaged. We're going to breeze through this NFC West really quick and talk about our winners and losers of free agency this year. In the NFC West, we didn't see much. We did see the Niners, I mentioned during the break, get Leonard Floyd and Yttergos Matos, just two more edge guys. We just mentioned Chase Young might be on his way out. Chase Young might be on his way out, so another good edge rushers for them. Okay, so winners and losers. I want to hear AJ, you're a winner, then Stone, you're a winner, free agency, then you're losers. Stone, you want to go first? I'll go first. Stone, winner. Free agency winner. I've got to go with the Eagles. I knew it. I knew it. No, no, no. I knew it. It's been amazing just seeing all these players, all the alerts pop up saying Saquon's with the Eagles. That made my day yesterday. Devontae Parker just signed with them. It's, I think, kind of an underrated move. I think a one-year, $5 million deal is kind of expensive for him. I think it's just overall. Do you want to go with your winner? My winner's got to be the Texans. I really like what the Texans did. I mean, they lost, was it their D-tackle or edge rusher? I don't know, but they did bring in Denico Autry. Yeah, they brought in a lot of guys, though, to replace them on that defensive side. And their line was really good toward the end of the season last year. And then they brought in some offensive power, so I really like what the Texans did. I think they're the biggest winners. Here we go.
