Hey guys. Happy Tuesday. Happy Tuesday guys. We're back with somebody very special. I can't believe it's her first time here guys. Yes. We have a special guest. Introduce yourself. Hi. My name is Corinne. I live with Kate and Tegan's my friend. Yes. A fellow Marylander here. Yes. Very much. Fellow 85. Oh yeah. Yeah. Alright. So, we can get into it. What are some of the highs of the week? I would say my high was literally yesterday when we all laid out and danced. Yeah. That was so nice. That was so fun. And my low is that I kind of have a little cold but that's okay because I'm going to get over it. Yeah. I think that I'd have to say the same thing because. That was so fun. Yeah. I know it was fun. And I am like sick but I'm getting over it so maybe that'll be a high too. It didn't feel like a Monday. Yeah. No. It didn't. My high was probably we went to the beach on Saturday and it was so nice. Oh my god. I forgot about that. I forgot about that. My weekend was my high. The whole weekend. The entirety of the weekend was actually the best thing that ever happened to me in my life. We had the best weekend. We literally didn't leave each other's signs at all. It was such a good weekend. Yeah. The highs were so high. The beach was so good. We went to this super cute cafe in Surfside Beach. It's called Benjamin's Shout Out. Go there. He's such a sweetheart. He's the most adorable man I've ever seen in my life. It's such a great small business. He has so much pride in his company. You guys have to go check it out. And they have so much food you can try. Yeah. And everything that they have is good. I haven't tried something that hasn't been good. Yeah. And it's four separate businesses that he runs I think. Yeah. It's like a pastry thing, a bagel thing, coffee, and I think he said cream cheese like schmear or something else. Yeah. He said something like that. Yeah. He owns four different businesses in one. It was everything. And we also went to Goodwill. So we'll talk to y'all later. Bye. Hey, everybody. We're back. We're talking about IKEA. Yeah. Well, we were talking about moving in this summer to our house this year and how we're going to need furniture. But IKEA food is so good. Yeah. I think I've gotten the meatballs. I don't know. I don't remember meatballs, but I definitely got chicken nuggets and stuff. I feel like they're known for their meatballs. I think they are. Everything that they have is just so good. I mean, I will say I was a kid, so I couldn't really tell a difference between good food and not good food. Yeah. But I was obsessed with IKEA food. No, there's a reason people hype it up. Yeah. Because people are always talking about it. I haven't been there. It's been a minute since I've been there. I think I was in fifth grade. Did you ever play in the kids playtime? I don't think so. We probably went to the same one. Yeah, probably. I don't remember where it is. I don't either. But I know it's like 40 minutes away. Yeah, I know it's far. Yeah, somewhere 40 minutes away in Maryland. I feel like it's by D.C. No, I know this because I remember talking to someone. I'm like, I'm going to IKEA. It's 40 minutes away. Yeah, let me look it up. Probably in somewhere random like Aberdeen, Maryland or something. I was going to say Aberdeen, but that's like above Baltimore. Might. Oh, yeah. Well, maybe it is north. Ikea, Maryland. Yeah, it does. Oh, there's one in College Park. Oh, maybe. I don't know. I lived because when I like the prime time of me going to IKEA, I lived in like Silver Spring. Yeah. College Park. And then there's one way above Baltimore in Nottingham. I've never heard of that. I definitely went to the College Park one, like Hyattsville. I don't know what Nottingham is. Yeah, I've never heard of that. Anything up north in Maryland. Yeah. Yeah. I have cousins like all the way in like Hagerstown, which is like borderline. It's all the way up there. Yeah. Borderline like Pennsylvania. And that's the only time I've ever been like up there. Yeah. I don't even know what it's like up there. Well, where's Deep Creek, actually? That's like West Virginia. Yeah. I've been there. I've been there once. I've never been. That was such an interesting trip. Deep Creek is so fun. It was fun. It was just an interesting trip. Like we went with another family and it was just an interesting experience. Are there bears there? Probably. Yeah. Are there bears in Maryland? I don't know what there are. How have I never seen a bear? I would think there would be like in the mountains, but. But also like in Maryland. But it's like Appalachian Mountains. Yeah, I guess. Oh, there are. Oh, that's bears. In Frederick County. Isn't that like where you are? It's like it's like 45 minutes from Maine, but it's like my direction. I don't know. I know where I know where D.C. is. I know where I live, like in Baltimore. And I know where you guys live in Ocean City. And literally they're all like it almost makes like a straight line. Yeah. Like when you connect. Yeah. We're like parallel to D.C., I'm pretty sure. Yeah. Yeah. We like when I was growing up, I thought that I would like encounter more black bears than I have. I thought it would be like a real problem. I thought. No. Yeah. I thought they were like such a threat. Yeah. I like. Same with like quicksand. Yeah. Yeah. I know. Tornadoes. Yeah. Literally. I blame Dora. There was one tornado over our school senior year. Oh my God. Yeah. That was like genuinely the worst day of my life. That's when I got. That day. What? I got broken up with on that day. Yeah. That day. No, it wasn't the worst day of my life. The clouds were mad with you. It was like wild. Like it was like the world turned upside down. Brother. No way. Brother. What is that? Thank God I did because life only got better from that. We would not have experienced this weekend. It's broken up with on that day. No, but it's true. Everything that's happened has led you to this point. Yeah, exactly. There's an invisible street. Yeah. Yeah. So if you guys haven't picked up by this point, Corinne is from like, if you're listening and you're from Maryland, Corinne's from like Ellicott City area. I'm dropping the location. Yeah. Guys, I'm so sorry about my call. It's all three of us. So we all caught the difference. Call in and make a guess. I actually really love Ellicott City. Yeah, no, it's it's like cool place. I mean, there's truly having lived there like basically my whole life. I am obviously bored of it. But like, there's some gems near there. Like, there are things that I experienced that like I just thought was the universal truth. Thing, but it's not like it was just like where I was from. I was like Annapolis is by the water. Yeah, it was like, I remember really wanting to go to that like place in the woods. Yeah, terrifying. Literally, one time I went there and there were some like, like people just like wandering around there was fine. One time my friend went there and he was going he's like a DJ. And he was like, trying to like scope out the area to like, throw like a rave in the woods. And when he went away, actually, actually, I'm talking about a different friend. This is Kara's boyfriend went to the wood and was like taking pictures. They were yeah, sure. Fire. There was just fire everywhere. It was literally like a forest fire in the middle of like, like Ellicott City in the woods by hell house where also, FYI, little context, hell house used to be I'm pretty sure like an all girls school or something and it burned down, but I might actually be confusing that with something else. I've never heard of this. Yeah. Oh, yeah. 100% It has to be there's no shot. It's not. There's literally, there's literally Yeah, I even have pictures there. Me and my family went on a hike there like in the prime of quarantine. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I feel like I've definitely seen people post there. Yeah. But it's like a sick place. I'll find the picture. Abandoned college. Yeah, you're correct. Yeah, it's Yeah. So it was an abandoned college. Wow. And it burned down, I guess, or it's shut down, burned down or something. Yeah, I have a picture in that gazebo. When did it burn down? I wonder. I don't know. Like how long like 100 years ago or like, really? Like, no, this is reminding me of the abandoned mental hospital. Oh, it's literally called Oh, the one. The one. Yes, it's literally called St. Mary's College. Yeah, on their way to taking up the cloth. What's that? No. So it had to have been like a while ago, because I have no clue what that means. The school student body slowly evaporated. Yeah, we abandoned in 1972. Yeah. Oh, my God. So did it not burn down? Well, St. Mary's College is like still a thing. I wonder if that's like, highly anything to do with it. Or maybe it was like a sister school, because I feel like St. Mary's College is like a pretty old school. Oh, yeah. Becoming a priest. Oh, oh, so it was like, they were seminary seminary. Yeah, I'm pretty. Yeah. It's a priest. Yeah, seminary. Or that's I think that makes it even seminary. Yeah. Oh, my God. That's really, that's really scary. Okay. And literally, like, they're everybody like who lives in that area is like hip to like, what, like goes on there, and you don't go alone. And like all the rules of the woods that you need to know, like, if you hear your name, no, you didn't mind. Oh, that's like, yeah, like, yeah. Yeah. And that's like, that's like a thing in the Appalachians. But like, it's in that specific area. Like, it's also a thing. And it's like, I don't know, it's not very prevalent. It's not something I've experienced, like, but I've always been with people. I've always like respected the area that I'm in. Like, yeah, what I mean? Like, I don't know what's lurking there. Yeah, no, exactly. No, yeah, it says I'm a serious fire destroyed a large portion of the property in 1997. I'm a serious fire. Like, that's so crazy. Because literally, like I was saying, my friend was there and mysterious fire just broke out that they didn't know where it came from. No, it was just a random fire. And I mean, like fire fighters, like came and stuff to put it out. Yeah, they were fully like taking pictures. And all of a sudden, they see smoke. And they're like, Oh, this is sick, because they're like boys. Yeah, they're taking pictures. And then they realize like, there's actually like a big fire surrounding them. Like, and so they like, but like, what, what are the chances it burns down? And then however many years later, like, I'm really curious about why it burned down. I don't know. All right, we have five seconds. All right, guys, we'll be back with more random chatter. Yes. Hey, guys, we're back. Again, we were literally just talking about everything we were talking about for that that whole break, like more, more. Yeah. So nice. Yeah, I did. Maryland. But yeah, that stuff like really intrigues me, though. I know. It's fun to like read about I used to like look into like, I used to just search up like, what is it? What is it called? Like, it's not like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. It's like a book. All of those things are free. I know. I know. I love museums. Honestly, like, I was obsessed with Night at the Museum too. Yeah, same. Same. That movie was so good. I literally was thinking about that movie like out of the blue last night. Like, I randomly was like, Night at the Museum. Yeah. And I was like, I miss that movie. You predicted that we would talk about this. That's actually crazy. Those are like my favorite movies when I was a kid. Yeah, I would watch that movie literally like I think every Sunday with my dad. We would watch that movie every Sunday. He'd be like, dum-dum on gum-gum. Yeah. Oh my god, I forgot about that. Yeah. Fire, fire. Those like phrases were like actually my entire childhood. Also, the one where he's like, sexuia. Sexuia. Sexuia. Yes, I love that movie. I would gladly re-watch. I love those movies. Should we watch, like, tomorrow? Yeah. Can we do a movie night? Yeah, because I'll be done with my test. I have a midterm tomorrow. I'm not doing anything tomorrow. You'll be just not going to play. No, I'm not going. You're not? It's just practice. Practice is optional. Okay. We know the plays. We, like, are all doing intramural flag football for our sorority and we're all insanely anxious about it. Fighting demons. Yeah, guys, I'm just, like, not sporty and it's giving me a lot of stress. It's like, I played soccer in high school, like, so I can, like, do, like, athletic. Like, I can do flag football. Yeah. But I'm just horrified of, like, playing. There's just a lot that, like, goes into the anxiety of it. Yeah. It's also just, like, I, even though it's intramural and it's not that deep. I want to do good. I'm competitive and I want to do well. Yeah. And if I don't do well or if I, like, somehow embarrass myself. Yeah. Even though embarrassment is a choice, I will actually tear myself apart. Yeah. Like, for no reason. It doesn't matter. Like, take everything with a grain of salt, but I, if it's sports, I am not, like, I will tear myself apart. Also, though, I think it'll be fun. Yeah, I know. I just need to, like, get thrown into one game and then I'll get the hang of it. Exactly. I think I'm just anxious because I don't, I've literally played flag football, like, once in my life. Yeah. So I don't even, like, know the rules or anything. But, like, once I get used to it, I think I'm going to have fun. But there's just, we'll see. We have a game the Thursday we get back from spring break. So if you're listening, you should pop out at 7.30. Yeah. Sorry, guys. Welcome back. That should be the new intro. For sure. Can we make, like, a theme, like, an intro, but it's, like, to the beat of our cough. Marcos, if you're listening, mix something up for us. Reminds me of that scene from Ferris Bueller when he's playing the keyboard and it's, like, all of the sticks. Oh, my God. Yeah. Oh, my God. I love that. I love Ferris Bueller. It's giving, like, fart machines. There's one up here. Wait, I can press stuff. Okay, well, I don't know if you can hear it. There's a fart? No, it's not a fart. It's not. You're not even a fart. It says W. Well, I can't hear it, but I'm sure people can hear it. I wonder what it is. I wonder what noises people are hearing. I pressed the question mark. But does it make me think of, like, in Disney, like, I said dart gun, not fart machine. Wait, maybe this is it, if we can hear it. There we go. That's Coastal Carolina. That's, wait, what's this one? What is it? I can't hear it. Oh, my God. Wait, is it your headphone? That's the last. This is the last. Okay. It's so funny. Wait, what's this one? Good morning. Bro, are you guys sweating or what? Pause, can I turn on the on air light? Oh, yeah. I probably didn't turn that on. We always forget to turn that on. Isn't that kind of a vibe? That is such a vibe. Yeah. It is hot in here. It's always hot in Britain. If y'all are listening and you go to Coastal, you know that Britain and Wall are the most... Britain and Wall are always hot as F, and Edwards is a tundra. Edwards is a tundra. And it's not just that it's hot in these buildings, but it's also, like, swampy. Yeah. Like, I literally... It's humid. My hair will frizz up more inside of this building than it will outside when it's raining. It's making me sick. Yeah, I know. Especially in Wall, because the classrooms with... There are classrooms in one of our buildings with... Some of them have no windows whatsoever. Yeah. So it's just fluorescent light. And the walls are all completely white. And it's, like, the colors are just actually... It literally looks like a psych ward room. Yeah, it does. Your classical, stereotypical, straightjacket psych ward room. You're looking at the teacher, and then everything starts to go fuzzy. Yes! All that's missing is the padded walls. And all of those... All the classes I have in Wall are Tuesday, Thursday. So they're, like, the hour and however long it is. So it's extra long. Thank God I switched my major, because I have not had a single class in Wall. All my classes are Britain and Edwards, and those rooms are, like, doable. Yeah, Edwards has different... Edwards usually has, like, dimmer lighting. Yeah, because even Edwards, the rooms without the windows, like, the ones that are more, like, the, like, lecture... Yeah. The lighting is less... Yeah, less severe. Yeah. But, yeah, I have most of my classes in Edwards. I only have one class in Wall this semester. But, yeah. There's still, like, a good amount of buildings on this campus that I've never been in. I know. The science building is so nice. I've never been in any of those... All of those buildings back there are really nice. The science one literally feels like when you walk into, like, your doctor's office. Yeah. Like an office building. It's so nice. And they have oysters and shells in the wall. Yeah. Yeah, I have a lab in there. I've only been in, like, Britain, Wall, Penny Hall, Edwards. That's my favorite building, Penny Hall. Yeah. It's the same. I guess over the summer, like, we'll meet from back. Because all the freshmen say Penny, and I'm like, what? What is that? I know. I just had my first class in Prince. But those are literally the only, like, class. It's, like, right in the middle. Prince Lawn. I've never been in there. I have my lab in there. But it's literally, like, I've only seen, like, where I go. Because it's, like, I walk in through the back, and it's the first classroom. So I haven't explored it at all. Yeah. Yeah, the academic office building hits. I love that building. The lighting is so good. The vibes are good in there. I just love it in there. The lighting in that building is good when the window blinds are open. Oh, yeah. In all of my classes that I've had in there, the blinds have always been closed. I don't understand how teachers do that. If I was a teacher, I'd be in here, like, opening up. Even if I had the... I would bring my own lamp for each of my classes just to have, like, ambient lighting. The lights would never be on. Not ever. Exactly. One of the things I really miss in college is that, like, how they don't have, like, decorations in the classroom. I know. Our classroom, I was going to say that, too. St. Mary's classrooms, the lighting is so perfect. Because, like, every classroom, like, majority of them would have, like, an entire wall of windows. And, like, they're, like, the really old ones. So, like, you would, like, swing it open, and it would, like, slant. Oh, my God. It was so good. And you just feel the spring, and you can hear the birds chirping, and the blue angels fly. Oh, yeah. I love blue angels. I know. Actually, it was so weird, like, when I literally lived in Annapolis for a month over the summer. Like, seriously, a month. Fun fact, Corinne lived in Annapolis for the summer for one month. And for free. Yeah. Shout out to Kara, my sugar mama. She's my friend. That was, like, fun, though. No, it was. Honestly, to be quite honest, this summer, this past summer was, I don't want to say it wasn't fun, because there were fun parts, but, like, if you had stayed during, like, a more fun summer, it would have been more of a vibe. Yeah, like, the summer between college and high school was so fun. Because there were, like, grad parties and stuff. I mean, had I been able to get a job, I totally would have stayed. Like, there wouldn't have been a reason for me to not stay. It's just that I couldn't find a job anywhere there, so I just went back home. But I'm surprised that for that whole month, Kate, you and I only hung out, like, once. I know. I think I told you, like, twice. I know, I don't know what I was doing. But you were always dog-sitting Jimbo. Also, literally every other weekend, we were in Ocean City. So, there was that. I remember us all going to get ice cream once. Oh! I think Catherine was there. Oh, yeah! We walked around. That's such an interesting group. And we saw Sean Cain. Oh, I just, like, made your name drop. Oh, whatever. He's the last person to listen to this. Did he even have a phone? Like, did he have to have a phone? Probably not. No hate to him. He goes to a school where I don't know if he can have a phone. Wait, like, I love that I can just watch people from up here. I know, it's so high in the view up here. Like, nobody knows that I'm here, and I'm, like, watching them. I like the view. You're my best view. You remember that. Yes. There's a Santa costume right here. A full-on suit, yeah. After this. Do you think it's your teacher? Do you think your teacher dresses up? Oh, he would be such a good Santa. That's the cutest thing in the world. He would be a really good Santa. Oh, my God. What was I going to say? Oh, I was going to say I'm so excited for Blue Angels. Me, too. The vibes are always so good. Last year, we did nothing. But this year, we're going to do something. Even if we just, like, go downtown. We could just go to the placer's last summer. Oh, that's so sad. The Blue Angels, they go to Ocean City, right? They go everywhere. I was going to say, because I've experienced the Blue Angels, like, multiple times, but it's always been in Ocean City. All I know is they go to Pensacola, Florida. I don't know why. I just remember that. Oh, yeah. Not really, though. No, y'all are from Minneapolis. I just think of the big, like, replica they have of it by the stadium. You know what I'm talking about? I just love, like, Fat Albert. Yes! Fat Albert is literally me if I were a Blue Angel. Oh, I was like, what is that? It's, like, the big plane that flies before the show. The silence after I said that. Fat Albert is me if I were a Blue Angel. We're all just like... Wait, hold up. Womp, womp. Turn it up. Womp, womp. Womp, womp. Womp, womp. Womp, womp. Womp, womp. Womp, womp. Womp, womp. Womp, womp. Womp, womp. Womp, womp. Womp, womp. Womp, womp. Womp, womp. Womp, womp. We just talk about our regular conversations. Yeah, in real life. Minus, like, the name-dropping. Yeah, no, I was gonna say, with a lot more name-dropping... We don't talk bad about people. We just... We love to just talk. Yeah, we're just yappers. Yapper nation. Alright, guys, well, we'll catch you next Tuesday. Make sure to go... Thank you for having me, guys. Yeah, this was so fun. Yeah, I think we'll definitely have Corinne again, as we guessed. Yeah, for sure. And... Yeah, make sure to go check out the Instagram and TikTok at Naptown Natives. No underscore, no nothing. Some really fun content is coming next week. Y'all ain't ready for it. Yeah, some mega content. So y'all better get on that. Yeah. If you're listening to WCC Radio, this is the student radio station. Bye!
