Teacher Recognition Announcement

Mrs. Sage Tilley has been named the Campus Teacher of the Year at Sundown Lane. She is a dedicated fourth grade math teacher who forms strong relationships with her students. Mrs. Tilley collaborates with colleagues to ensure students' growth in math and provides support for STAAR test preparation. Thanks to her efforts, the fourth grade students at Sundown Lane achieved outstanding results in math, with 97% approaching mastery and a 23% increase in students meeting expectations. Despite being a teacher for only two years, Mrs. Tilley is highly respected and deserving of this recognition. Hey, hey, Sundown Lane and all of those who love and support us, we are so excited and honored to announce this year's Campus Teacher of the Year as Mrs. Sage Tilley. We know her. We love her. She is the most wonderful fourth grade math teacher. She embodies the spirit of Sundown Lane with her warm smile, her calm demeanor, and her dedication to student success. She never gives up trying to form and maintain relationships with her students. Have you seen her outside in the hall talking one-on-one with students when they get frustrated, helping them and encouraging them to give their best effort? I've seen her do this countless times. She truly makes Sundown Lane a joyful place of learning. Mrs. Tilley also works so well with colleagues and other staff members to make sure that you guys as students are growing the way that you should in math. She helps interventionists and tutors develop strategies and activities that will support the things that she's teaching you in class. When you have trouble on the STAAR test, she's the one who gives the tutors the wonderful activities that you need to improve. She's the lead learner for Sundown Lane for fourth grade math, and she meets with other lead learners on other campuses to make great plans for you guys. This year, Sundown Lane won so many awards and honors from the district for the fourth grade students' performance in math. On the STAAR test, 97% of our fourth grade students approached mastery in math. The percentage of fourth grade students who met expectations in math grew 23% because of Mrs. Tilley this year. Also, Mrs. Tilley increased the percentage of students who mastered fourth grade math content on the STAAR by 20%. Guys, Mrs. Tilley has only been a teacher for two years. She is a powerhouse, and we are proud to call her our top teacher on campus. Congratulations, Mrs. Tilley, Sundown Lane's Campus Teacher of the Year!
