The speaker is excited to do a podcast on Queer Theory and wants to discuss various intersections related to race, gender, and sexuality. They acknowledge the contributions of Dr. Hayes and their classmates in challenging categorizations of queer identity. The speaker emphasizes the importance of starting with a question. First off, I would really like to applaud Dr. Hayes, my classmates, and all of those people who really contributed to me undoing and problematizing the ways in which we categorize or how we categorize what it means to be queer or what it means to be someone who identifies as gay. So, first of all, I think it's extremely important to start off with a question.
