The speaker mentions closing the door and starting a podcast. They discuss celebrating achievements but not over-celebrating. One person talks about their weight loss journey and the importance of prioritizing their health. They also mention upcoming changes in the team and the excitement for the next season. They discuss Easter plans and weight loss challenges. The speaker mentions a sauna as a method for weight loss but emphasizes the importance of doing it sustainably. They also mention an MVP award and encourage listeners to enjoy the podcast. Yeah, two seconds, I'm just going to close the door, my wife has left the door open. Right, I'm back, sorry, I was just closing the door up. That's it really, I'm conscious it will take a long time, I've got a little bit to say about that, and I might go on a little bit of a rant, but here's what it is. Really? Yeah, all I chucked in for mine I think was with Sid. Mine's 13 seconds with Sid, so it won't make much of a difference. No, I don't think so. Thank you mate. Yeah. It's Lee's, yeah. Cool. Right, do you want to set the recording on the Teams meeting? That's probably the most effort we've put into it really, isn't it? The rest has just been like fly by your pants. Oh, I've just hurt my back. Cool. Welcome back to Loose to Win the podcast with myself Jack, Ben and Josh. How are we doing chaps? Very good. Yeah. I am thoroughly looking forward to this. What I do want to do is really good, because we've got an opportunity, as Steve will do on a Friday night, this will go out on a Friday, so it will be tonight for people listening, is celebrate people that have done really well. But one thing that we want to do is also celebrate kind of some individual awards and what people have done. But what I'm really conscious of is for nobody to really over-celebrate. I don't want anybody taking it too far and over-celebrating. Because we all know that's absolutely not allowed. Nobody is allowed to have fun, reward and enjoy yourself. I don't know what you're talking about. It's just really important that we absolutely have no idea what you're talking about. What's important is we stay level grounded and just don't go over the top. Don't go over the top. We don't want to upset anybody, especially hairy hands fucking Richard Keyes. Anyway, I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Let's crack on. You go. Go on, Ben. Go on, Ben. Go on, Ben. Go on, Ben. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, fair play. It's a team full of quality on the pitch for sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, it's good, mate. We did. We did. We definitely ran it close. And I think, personally, for me, moving on to me, if you don't mind, I've... If Christmas... I know it's easy to say. If Christmas wasn't in the middle of this season, it would have been a much better season than I'd actually finished with. So, yeah, there's definitely been some highs and lows. The inconsistencies are becoming less so. I'm becoming more consistent with what I do. I think I actually went four consecutive weeks losing 0.4 kilograms, which when it got to the second, I was like, that's weird, that's what I lost last week. And then the third week in a row, I was like, no, it's getting really strange. And then the fourth was like, right, this is bizarre. And that was leading up to Christmas. And then from there, it kind of went Christmassy. And, yeah, I think the last couple of weeks, I've really kind of settled into a good routine with it. This week, for me, as I know we've said before, would definitely previously have been a week that... I know I'm not getting weighed on Friday, so I can slack, but I'm absolutely not doing that. I'm fully focused on it and want to maintain that and keep that going and, as I said last week, I'm hoping the arrival of my brother and the family competition or the friendly competition within it should help me as well. I always think about it and I look around all of the inspirational things that we have going on around us as a group, but also the kind of inspirational people we have on here. And I get frustrated myself that I can't... those things don't seem to inspire me as much as I want them to. And sometimes it's just a spike of inspiration and then I fall back into bad habits. And my health and looking after myself is probably the last thing that I actually worry about when I live a pretty busy... a pretty busy life. Work and outside of work, as you know, I seem to be involved with anything to do with organising a bit of a kick around, which I love doing. I wouldn't change the world. But my health ends up being the last thing I seem to care about or worry about. So, yeah, I'm trying to put that first rather than last and kind of look after myself for... In turn, that is looking after my family, looking after my amazing young children and wanting to be around for them for as long as I can be, as healthy as I can be for them as long as I can. So, yeah, without getting too sloppy and too deep, that's really this season in a nutshell. I'm super excited about the next season and what's to come. It's pretty sad that it will be the last season, as we know it, for the teams as they are. But also, again, we've seen this cycle a few times now, Ben, especially that it's not... Anybody that's a bit daunted and a bit worried about the change, it's really, really good. It re-inspires you. You start to... You end up playing with people that you haven't played with before, people you may not have even spoken before, and you build relationships and bonds with them. And you never know, you might get the chance to be a captain or even a vice-captain or even become something within your team that you might not be at the moment. So, yeah, it's really important for the league that this happens. And it's a refresh, isn't it? It's an opportunity to stop and go again. Yeah. Yeah, it was... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You get a chance to give him a kick on a Friday night as well. And instead of passing to him now, you get to give him a little kick as they run past you. And, Josh, what about you, mate? How's your season panned out? How's your season panned out? Right. Right. Right. Right. Good. Hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Fair play, mate. Fair play. Yeah. Fair enough. I'm excited to see how we get on. I want to listen back to this podcast this time at the end of next season and go, look at how far we've come as a group but also as individuals and as a team. So, yeah. Fair play. Fair play. So, look at how far we've come as a group but also as individuals, the three of us. And we can hopefully lead by example where we can and do what we can to help the league press on. Let's do it. Well done, boys. Very, very good. Fair play. Fair play. Fair play. Wow. New purples. Wow. Wow. Wow. Well done. Wow. Wow. Both of those percentages are good enough to win most other seasons, aren't they? Yeah. Boo-hoo. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She will be... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, definitely. Fuck Easter. It's my birthday. Yeah, nice. Oh. It looks like the 1st of January. Yeah, that's mad. There is one thing to celebrate this Easter Sunday and that's my birthday. I'm very lucky that occasionally my birthday lands on Easter Sunday and it is this year. So, no, I won't be having double eggs. I'll have a couple but we always go to my... Oh, thanks, mate. We always go to my parents for Easter Sunday and that will be the same this year as well. So, let the kids have a little Easter egg hunt and that sort of fun stuff. Yeah. God, no, yeah. It doesn't last as long, does it? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, amazing work. Yeah. He did. Yeah. Bonnabon. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Hmm. Nobody has lost a George ever. Sorry, a George or Rob. Where's George? Nobody's ever lost a Rob. Oh, who the fuck is George? Sorry. We do. Too many Georges, that's the problem. Amazing. Yeah. Yeah. Outstanding, yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Long story short, we've rolled it over because the fucker had a big pizza before his first weigh-in and whatever else. So, yeah, we're going to roll it over. It's all good. It's still happening. Yeah. Where? Thank you, mate. I think it is, yeah. Yeah. I very rarely even... Generally, I said to Steve, that's almost like a monk for me that week, being so disciplined and being absolutely on it. And I just don't understand. I've got plenty of weight to lose. Don't worry about that. I don't understand how these people were able to like churn out 2.2, 3 kgs. I just can't... I don't think, I don't believe I'll ever reach that amount in one week. That being said, a consistent amount is fine and good to do. But, yeah, one week would be quite nice just to be surprised when I jump on and go, oh, it's two something. The two at the beginning would be quite nice. That's my next little individual target for one week. Yeah. Yeah. Hmm. Definitely. That's the first weight loss week I've had in a long time. Well, probably memory that didn't involve going to a sauna at some point in the week. Yeah. That's the God's honest truth. Like, me and Sid would pretty religiously go on a Friday before and do what we can. Obviously, you've done all the work you've done in a week and then just to kind of top you up a little sweat in the sauna. And there was absolutely none of that last week. And to lose that amount proves that I can do it. Oh, it can do, yeah. Ramsey did the maths, didn't he? Do you remember when he was almost killing himself in that first couple of seasons? We were going to saunas and he was sat in there for like 45 minutes at times to try and lose a kg. Yeah. So, not a healthy, like you say, that's absolutely not a sustainable way of doing it. But what it certainly can do is if you feel like you may have had a good week but let yourself down because you've had an extra cup of tea that day or something silly like that, it can just kind of give you a bit of a cleanse, a bit of a sweat out. It's not necessarily a bad thing, I don't think. If it's done sustainably and sensibly, you're not going in there to dehydrate yourself and kill yourself. That's the wrong way to do it, I would suggest. Amazing. Can't wait. Getting their flowers. Hmm. Yeah, that's it. Secret Steve keeping that close to his chest then, is he, Joshy? Ah. That's true. You're like, oh, yeah, fair enough. It is, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, definitely. It's when you slam it down and walk out, we know it's not you. You're not. That's fair enough. Yeah. Yeah. We did. We did. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Listen at your leisure, enjoy. Absolutely, let's do it. Yeah. Perfect, perfect. Let's start with the MVP. So what we did is we spoke to your captains. We asked them to nominate their MVP. So this is not just for weight loss. It can just be for weight loss, but it's not exclusive to that. It's somebody also that's contributed on and off of the pitch and somebody that your captain has nominated you for as your most valuable player for your team. So we'll start with Red. Ben, over to you. Brilliant work. Yeah. An absolute brick wall. Yeah. Perfect. No, I haven't. Yeah. Awesome. No, for some reason they disappeared. We helped him delete them. So it will be Ben again with Blues. Ben, over to you. Yeah. Yeah. Amazing work, bud. Next up we've got Oranges. So Josh, I believe you're going to take control of this one. Yeah. Rounder, yeah. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. I can see why he's a good mate, because he's generally a really nice guy, isn't he? A fair amount of his weight, even if he has lost two stone, went on my left big toe Friday night, and he must have said sorry about 15 times. Like a genuine sorry and kept coming over and checking. So like the nicest guy. So, yeah, a very worthy winner. Well done, mate. Next up is Whites. I will do Whites. Next up is Whites. I will do Whites. Somebody that I spent a bit of time with last season before moving into Purples. Somebody that has done what Ben didn't believe somebody could do. Super Barnaby managed to hit a percentage and his maintenance in one week and score his team, did you say, seven goals? Seven and a half goals last week. So Super Barnaby has been voted by Craig as his MVP for Whites, and I completely agree with that. Somebody, another player that doesn't get a lot of recognition because he keeps his head down, he gets on with it, a nice quiet chap that just goes under the radar, he's there for the right reasons, enjoys his football, gets stuck in, seems to be there every week and has done the unthinkable or the unbelievable for Ben. In terms of a double week of something that we all now know is something that is possible. Yeah, so congratulations, mate. Very, very well done, Barnaby. Well done, buddy. Rolling on to another one for me to give is for Super Purples. So I'm super proud, I know I've mentioned loads of times, I'm super proud of a brand new team doing as well as we did. We pushed the Pitch League pretty close, bar a last couple of iffy results. We pushed the weight, I think we sat third in weight loss. Might be wrong with that, third or fourth, it was close. So an all-round solid performance as a team last season. And somebody that has shown an incredible amount of commitment to the team, that managed to get through to the end of last man standing. He does travel from Shaftesbury every Friday night to play, which I am led to believe is about 52 minutes each way, which is a fair clank, especially on a Friday night at 10 o'clock. Not that Ben would know. He has absolutely smashed it on the weight loss. He also has improved as a person and a footballer. I never doubted that he wasn't a good footballer, but it just seems to be a level of confidence from him that just seems to be coming out further and further every week. The level of commitment also to the outside of the Man V Fat stuff is that he is starting to get involved in the Tuesdays and Thursday nights as well. Again, involving a journey either to or from Shaftesbury. So, an absolute legend. Super Tomo for the Purples. Really proud of you, mate. Really, really buzzing to have you on the team. A pillar of what we do and what we want to do as Purples. Thoroughly look forward to seeing what you can achieve next season, mate. So, well done. I will take on the last two. And the reason why I do that, and I'm going to just stall quickly while I just have a little scroll through my phone, is I've sent out the message and the people that gave me the biggest feedback would be the Greens and Yellows. So, we have, first up, the Greens. So, Greens, obviously, an incredible season. I'm sure Tim could have picked everybody within the team, including himself, for MVP. Every one of you has contributed in one way or another and to achieve the incredible results you guys have achieved on the scales is absolutely no mean feat and that's something that is done as a team and supporting as a team. But for Tim, there is one particular person that sticks out. And for me as well, probably the nicest person down there. And I know I say that a lot, but this person, generally, to me, I consider as somebody that I could speak to at any point and trust with anything. And it's SuperRav. Rav took a bit of time away from the league. I believe he may have moved to Southampton. I'm not entirely sure of the complete circumstances, but I'm sure he moved away from the area. And for one reason or another, he's back and he has absolutely smashed this season. As we referenced earlier around the top losers, he is firmly up there and has done an incredible bit of work. So, I'm just going to read what Tim's put. So, Green's pick is Rav, due to his incredible consistent weight loss, his dedication to the cause, especially when he's flying out to Turkey. I'm sure everybody knows what that means. I'm not entirely sure what the situation there. He told his wife they were getting a late... Oh, this might be the reason. So, he told his wife they were getting a late coach so he could play. So, basically, it sounds like he played on the day that he was going on holiday and they had to get the late coach because he wanted to play. He's super vocal and supportive in the WhatsApp group. He's always willing to go and goal if he needs a goalkeeper. A general all-rounder, fantastic team member, slash player with a great mindset. And I can only completely agree with that. So, well done, mate. An incredible achievement and somebody that should be super proud of himself as a... Absolutely. Yeah, fantastic. And then on to the Yellows. So, Yellows MVP was sent in by Gareth. Again, Gareth gave a bit of narrative around it and there's somebody that stands out for Gareth and the moment I say his name, everybody, I'm sure, is going to go, yep, of course, it's him. So, it is super dimmy. So, he goes about his business quietly and consistently. He remains in the last man standing for the second season in a row. He's hit one milestone already. This is at the time of sending and he may very well have another up his sleeve with a little shushing emoji. So, he said, Gareth also said, I'm sure most of his weight loss can be put down to him carrying the rest of the Yellows. But in all seriousness, an incredible, both on and off the pitch, and a well-deserved MVP. And I have to completely agree with that. He has been fantastic. A credit to the club, exactly, to do that two seasons in a row. But also somebody that is a real OG. I remember looking back on that photo. I do it quite regularly, have a little look just to go, somebody will say, oh, that person was there from the start. And I was like, were they really? You've got it. Yeah, yeah, and there he is. Proud of his punch and his orange top. And one thing that was really cool is a couple of weeks back, I think he had the kids with him. And he jumped on the scales. I think this was the first one after Christmas where he managed to lose three kg over Christmas. And Steve hit the nail on the head. As good as Steve clearly is with children, he was straight away going, do you realise how much of a rock star your dad is? Like how cool your dad is and how well he's done. And the kids were just like nodding their head, but I'm sure taking it in. And he's hit the nail on the head how much he's done and what he's done. He should be super proud of himself. And we are very, very lucky to have you, Dimi. So thank you. Ah, yeah, sorry. I skimmed you. Sorry, mate. Apologies. Thank you. Yeah, he epitomises it, doesn't he? Yeah. Fair play, mate. And my God, did he put a shift in on Saturday night in the 11-a-side as well, mate. He absolutely smashed it. So well done, mate. Again, probably, I don't know if he was involved in the last. You might remember better than me and Josh, but one of his first ever 11-a-side games and the guy ran himself into the ground, worked his way up to the top of the table. And I think that's what he did. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The guy ran himself into the ground, worked so hard, did so well. So absolute credit to him and what he's done so far. So well done, mate. Lovely stuff. They are. What a group. What an incredible group. Great. Yeah. No. Yeah. So I'll dive straight in. So we asked Ian, the ref, who is 99% of the time our ref, apart from when Alex fills in. No. No. And what we asked Ian was to give us kind of the referees player and see what he thinks. And lo and behold, as indecisive as referees always are, he's given us a whole list of names. So proving my theory right all along that he can't make a decision to save his life. So what he's done, I feel bad now. That was a bit harsh. So what he's done is he's given us some names. And if he didn't know the names, he kind of described them to us, and we managed to work it out from there. He did admit he's terrible with names, so fair play. So first up is Jez for the Yellows. He's referenced his performances and very, very impressed. Bear in mind, Ian only sees the football side of things, so this is solely kind of football things that he's brought up. So we've got Jez. We've got Tim for the Blues, so one of your chaps. Yeah, we've got Super Ollie in there. Again, somebody that on and off the pitch is fantastic and learning more about his professional sporting background, I can see that he can throw his arm at most things, including I think he might be relatively handy at golf as well. So there's a bit of an all-rounder there with Ollie, so amazing work. I don't know if he put it in there because he felt he had to, but he did also give me an honourable mention, which was very kind of him. Yeah, you two bastards convinced me that it was only because I asked. I'll take it where I can get it. And one in particular, most improved. So this particular player has certainly caught his eye. Somebody that we've already referenced, funnily enough, almost a moment ago, and it's Super Conor. Again, the improvement that we've all seen, but the referee has also noticed it as well. It's the exact words that there's only one person for most improved, and it's Super Conor. For a player that joined the league that clearly hadn't played much football, if at all, and struggled to get through 15 minutes of the game to being an ever-present and a colossal defender and all-round good guy for the Blacks as well. So well done, mate. Again, everything you're getting, you deserve, pal, so well done. Moving swiftly on, if we jump into Coach's comments, we've called it. There were a few other chosen C words that I wanted to use, but he was having none of it. So Josh is going to take on this. If you're okay, Josh. Couch's comments. He suggested Coach Couch's champions, so that may very well be people that he's championing, mate. So, Coach Couch's champions. So, Coach Couch's champions. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, great shot. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Very good. And with Tom, I completely agree. I agree with the others, but for Tom especially, those game-winning moments that we've seen Tom pull out of nowhere have been probably the best amateur goal I've ever seen scored was by that young man, and it was on the volley, yeah, the volley in. Yeah, just a ball kind of. I think it was a bit of a strange deflection that ended up just at the right place for him, and he thought, let's give it a go. And I don't think Tom before this had played a great deal of football either. I think he now plays quite regularly down two of his meets on a weeknight, but, yeah, somebody that I don't think grew up playing a lot of football. I love warming up with him as well, just watching that technique that he's got. Which is always good fun. So, absolutely. So, on to the next one. So, next up, we've got the lose-to-win player of the season, and it will be presented by Benjamin. It's considered as our all-rounder for the lose-to-win chaps. So, Benjamin, you're up. You're up. You're up for the lose-to-win chaps. Yeah, go on, do them first and go from there. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Amazing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Well done, mate. I completely echo that. Next up, we have goal of the season, presented by Josh. Oh, he wins every one, doesn't he? Again, it's my purples. I do remember it well, because I was... I was trying... I was saying I was marking, I was kind of generally knew where he was in relation to where the ball was. And when that ball was hit kind of across, I was thinking, it's fine, he'll take a touch. And just as my head's spinning to look at him, the ball's already in the back of the net, and he's hit it the first time. Honestly, I reckon he's met it at about five, maybe six foot high. Straight into the top corner. Just, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Lovely stuff. Next up, we've got a couple of fun awards. Please bear in mind, these are fun. We are picking and taking a look at people. Please don't... Yeah, please don't come and knock on our door and give us any shit. It is only fun. Absolutely, so... Yeah, just blame me. That's fine. That's all good. So, first up is the Jack Wilshire Award for the player that spends the most time seemingly injured or hobbling or carrying a knock or in the wars. There's a few honourable mentions for this. Robbo is one, mainly because he puts himself in danger, and others, with acrobatics and his full-on nature of playing football, which we all absolutely love and wouldn't want him to change in any way. But he doesn't get it. It's somebody I'm sure is an absolute fan of Mr Wilshire. And that goes to our resident Swindon Town and Tottenham Hotspur fan, Super Sid. So, well done. Well done, mate. Again, don't cry about it. Complaints on a postcard. But, yeah, we love you to bits, mate, but you spend an awful lot of time hurt. Maybe get yourself some new shit, lads. Oh, my God, he bounces back up, doesn't he? Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. So, that's the first. Next up is over to Josh, who is going to present the Phil Jones Award. Tell us more about that, Josh. Also made famous by John Terry. I think there's only... This one particular moment fits it perfectly, doesn't it? I think it's almost like a moment award. Well done, mate. I think that's it. I think that's it. I think that's it. I think that's it. I think that's it. I think that's it. I think that's it. I think that's it. I think that's it. I think that's it. I think that's it. I think that's it. He risked life and limb to protect that goal, and whether it was intentional, whether he had tripped or fallen or what had ever happened, there was no way you were getting past. You or the ball were getting past, and he gave us a moment that all three of us reminisce on quite regularly, I think, and it was the only thing that we could think of for an award in this manner. Yeah, mate, well done. Really good work. Love it. Fantastic. Next up, let's go with the Big Girls Blouse Award. Now, this is for... This is where it gets juicy. This is for the player that tends to have a little whinge, probably more than a little whinge, at every opportunity. There isn't one thing that doesn't irritate them or they get frustrated by, and they are very vocal, a very important member of the community and one of which we all love, but somebody that does crack us up with it. It's only a game at the end of the day, isn't it? And I think this young man takes it to that full extreme. There are some honourable mentions before, and this list seemed to go on quite a lot this evening. So, again, feel free to blame me. So we've got Super Seb from the Blacks. There isn't a game that goes by that I don't think Seb has a bit of a tussle or something going on or a bit of a whinge at the ref. I think if we were to ask Ian who bothers him the most or gives him the most grief, I think Seb might be up there. I think he definitely speaks his mind and we love him for it. Next up we've got Reuben. Now Reuben comes in for a lot of attention from defenders, mainly because of his playing style and how good he is. But he is somebody that only enjoys a physical game. If you don't get stuck in with Reuben, he's not really enjoyed the game. And he actually said after the game that we played against him on Friday night, he said, I don't mind getting fouled. It's when the referee gives fouls against me for doing the same thing. It's like, it's because I'm smaller than them. It's not fair. And that kind of epitomises this particular thing. We've also got Rambo. Rambo's up there for somebody that will certainly have a whinge and a moan. And he and my brother Luke certainly went hammer and tong at getting into each other on Friday. Very gentlemanly, shaking hands at the end of the game. It's just a game. It was all good fun. Don't worry about it. But the one player that stuck out for us and we love him for it is SuperCharlie. So well done, Charlie. Whether it's an accolade you want or like, it's too late, but well done, mate. It's well deserved, mate. We love you to bits, mate. So don't change, please. Absolutely. And Ben, over to you for the last one on this section, I believe. Oh, I'm awful at this. Sorry, last two. Go on. Yes. Yes. Yes. Hell of a player as well. Yes. Yes, Neil. Well done, mate. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well deserved, mate. Thank you. Well done, bud. Yeah, I think so. Yeah. Thank you very much. I don't know whether to be... It's all tactical, absolutely. Yeah. I've never been a goal scorer in any of my time playing football, and this has given me an opportunity to give it a go, and I've really enjoyed it. So it's very kind. Kind words for an insulting award. They seem to come in bunches. I can go a couple of weeks without scoring anything, then I'll score, like, three or four in a game. It's a bit of a weird way, but it's all good. I enjoy it, and, yeah, long may it continue. If I can keep scoring goals and helping the team, then I'll do that. Yeah, that's awesome. I'm really happy with that. Well... Yeah. If we let them behind the curtain a little bit, something that we want to try and do in association with Steve and the Man V. Fat Awards that he'll do is do an in-person award ceremony where we get the opportunity to get as many of us together that isn't on a football night, with plenty of liquid refreshment and lubrication for our throats, and enjoy a good laugh and a piss-take of each other, and also maybe even a little bit of a boogie with some music in the background and whatever else is going on, and maybe even some grub. Something to keep your eyes peeled on, something the three of us would really like to be involved with organizing and let's watch this space. But we'll give everybody advance notice and hopefully get as many of us together, probably on a Saturday night somewhere, where we can have a few beers, have a joke and a laugh, and give out the awards and let Steve do his official awards too. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. What is next on the agenda then, Josh? What is next on the agenda then, Josh? An interesting week. Yeah. I think... Yeah, absolutely. It gives me a little opportunity to say something without too many of the naysayers and the negative people having an opportunity to answer back. First things first, I think what's important about that game at the Emirates is the performance by Arsenal, I believe. And again, it comes from a place of bias. It was fantastic. I think, to a man, they were brilliant. There were some outstanding performances within there, which I'll touch on in a moment. But I also believe that Liverpool didn't play very well. I think that's partly down to what Arsenal did, but also they just didn't seem to turn up on the day. You can probably count on one hand the amount of mistakes that van Dijk has made in his time at Liverpool. And one, certainly, the other probably a bit harsh in terms of his defending for the third goal. An incredible defender, an incredible player, and somebody that if you ever get the best of, you really need to make sure that you win the game. And at one point at half-time, it felt like we had worked incredibly hard and done absolutely everything and felt like the game was still going to slip away from us. And it was more than just a game. I think it was an opportunity to stay involved with the title race, of which I don't believe we will win. But also involved with what is going to be a very hotly contested top four, I believe, with teams like Villa just refusing to give up and continue, bar a strange result tonight against a very poor Chelsea team in the league seem to be there or thereabouts. So in terms of the performances, there was Ben White who I think actually pulled out what I'd consider as a world-class performance at right back. He was just absolutely phenomenal. Ball carrying, winning the ball, attacking, everything. He gave absolutely everything that I would want to see from him. What's hilarious about Ben White is he absolutely hates football but loves Arsenal. Have you heard about this? You know, he literally... Yeah, he's become a bit of a cult hero at Arsenal that everybody calls a Benny Blanco. And not just does he... Every time you see him, he looks even more orange than the last time you saw him. He goes for the whole kind of, I don't know, probably Argentinian way of rolling his shorts up like Maradona used to do. All of these weird little quirks about him, he's just a bit of a character, a bit of a strange one, but we love him for it and he was brilliant. I think Martinelli was back to his best. The pace that that boy's got, the performance he churned out was just insane. Odegaard ran the show, Declan Rice, nobody seems to be mentioning that price tag. I don't think once has that been in question and that's quite rare for any player to move for £100 million plus. Even Jack Grealish was, is he really worth that? Can we believe he's worth that? Declan Rice has been outstanding and I think if there was one factor that we sit here in the summer and go, why did Arsenal win the league? There's a very good chance that his name would be the first thing that you mention and what's the difference this time round is him. Sadly, all of that was overshadowed by the outpour by other fans of other teams and idiot punters having their say on the over-celebration, which if you can't celebrate beating the team that's top of the league, the game is fucking gone, isn't it? It's completely gone. If you can't celebrate that, I think that's one of the things that pisses me off. I've got no issue with it and we have seen in the past Klopp do his thing running on the pitch when they beat Everton to finish fifth that season. There's numerous things, against Norwich, where he broke his glasses, all these things and I genuinely actually thinking about it when I took a step back and thought about it, I don't have a problem with that. What I've got a problem about is the hypocrisy around it and what does Arteta need to do? Why is Arteta different to Klopp and Pep when it comes to the criticism that he gets? What do you think? He is. He's not overly likeable, I get that. Do you think it changes if Arteta ever wins? Do you think it changes if they win anything, Champions League, Premier League, whatever? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, it's fully fucking rattled me as well. It's irritated me how much I care about what people's opinion of it is. The big thing that fucks me off is I pay a considerable amount of money for my Sky subscription to sit and listen to two of the biggest pricks there are in football in Gary Neville and fucking Carragher and what saddens me is that they... Carragher, I'll come on to, Neville, I respect his football opinion and he's actually a very good pundit and I think he took... He took... Absolutely, yeah, yeah. Absolutely, yeah, yeah. I respect his success but at the same time it pisses me off that he takes the easy way out and goes for the over-celebrating rather than actually giving Arsenal the credit they deserve for what was a very, very good performance. It's only the second time Liverpool have lost this season and that's almost by the wayside if that makes sense. When it comes to Carragher, firstly, the prick's never won a Premier League. He's never won a Premier League and he only won the Champions League because Gerrard pulled his fucking socks up and won it for him. The guy's a cretinous, foolish, idiotic cunt who spits in children's faces. No, no, don't cut it, don't cut it. Don't you dare. The type of prick that spits in children's faces, I've got zero respect for him but especially either of them now. If that's their easy way, sadly the whole world are kind of like I've got to say something controversial to show my worth, to show my place in the media and if these two pricks sit there and think that's the way to do it then fair play to them, do it. Get your overpaid pricks, get your money. No, no, no. No, but sadly it's not, it's probably the easiest thing they could have said and when you look at, again, a heart back to Carragher giving it the big and about it, the fucking idiot. Mo Salah, you little dancer. Fuck off, mate. Fuck off, you fucking prick, honestly. And Neville, Neville banging on about over-celebrating. I'm pretty sure I saw a photo of him kissing skulls recently when they come up about over-celebrating and then he's fucking lips in skulls in the middle. No, we haven't but it's sad that the bias of those two, I know that my opinion is biased as a fan but I'm not paid fucking millions of pounds to sit in front of all of these viewers to give my opinion on a football match, on a performance as a professional, ex-professional player, as a professional pundit to give my opinion on what should have been. Well done to Arsenal. It just fucks me off and the final bit on it, they spent so much time on it, Ben. It was just so frustrating and I get that Arteta, I don't think I would be overly keen on him if he wasn't my manager. Yeah, but I think he's so dedicated to achieving what he believes he can achieve. I think he puts that to the side, doesn't he? And the fans. He single-handedly changed what it feels like to be the Emirates and I don't think many of us go to watch a lot of Premier League football unless it's at AFC Bournemouth and I've been to the Emirates a lot and I try to go as much as I can and I've said about it on here as well, nothing beats that entertainment of live football but if I'm going there and I'm holding back celebrating because I'm worried about what somebody thinks, I ain't gonna fucking go again. We've got so much going on in our lives. I know, it's kind of a hypothetical thing. We've all got so much shit going on in our lives. People go there. It's people's church, isn't it? It's people's way of release and opportunity to let loose and enjoy yourself and if you can't celebrate beating such a good team that Liverpool are, then without the consequence and I love Arteta for his energy and his enthusiasm and what he wants to do and his single-mindedness if that makes sense to wanting to achieve and doing something right that there must be so much pressure on his shoulders. He must put a lot on himself as well as everything else and if that's a release of pressure, then so be it. I know it's easy to whinge about and get pissed off about but I just think there's so... Yeah, it's a bit of a rant but it's just so boring that we've now had to spend more time in saying actually fucking fair play. How well did Arsenal do? We've spent more time talking about the cretins that think... and I mentioned fucking hairy hands, Richard Keyes. I don't know how he pops up on any of my fucking algorithms. He's on BNTV because nobody in the fucking country would have him anywhere near any of their TV stations and he's on there and he was at it all last season and every opportunity he gets he's slamming Arteta and Arsenal and he's just lazy journalism, lazy work in the media and it's just pathetic and embarrassing. Go on. Reserved. Yeah. Yeah. Mate, if I have to keep dealing with it that means we're fucking... we're doing something right. Do you know what I mean? The final bit as well is that Odegaard got a lot of shit for taking the photographer's camera and taking pictures of him. So this particular photographer, Stu, has been with the club I think it's 15 or 16 years and it is his last season. I'm not sure if he's retiring or if he's moving away from the area or whatever reason he's no longer going to be with the club. He didn't want that photo to be taken. Odegaard went over and said this is a moment for you. He's a lifelong Arsenal fan. This is a moment for you. If anybody's watched the All or Nothing Arsenal which if you haven't I'd recommend you do and then maybe cast more judgment on Arteta and see what you think of him after you've seen that. He's heavily involved in one of the episodes and you learn a lot about him and he's now a bit of a cult hero at the club and that's why that was done. But nobody... the fucking lazy journalism to go, oh look what he's doing put your camera away and get down the tunnel. Fuck off. Give an opinion on something that you've taken some time to understand rather than just a very lazy opinion that you just know is a fucking clickbait and you'll get your clips on your TikToks and whatever else. So it's a bit of a rant and I apologise but he is a cretinous, idiotic, foolish cunt and he can fuck himself. And I hope... any of Arsenal don't win the league I really don't want Liverpool to win it now so fuck them. Fuck them. What do you mean, do you want to listen? I've been having an absolute stormer of a month. I'm fucking flying. I am flying. 82 this week and I think the second highest in the league and 68 the week before. Picked Alvarez when it was Alvarez's birthday and he got his hat trick. Yeah, he got a hat trick didn't he? Or did he? I can't remember. No, I think it was two. And then I had Watkins this week that returned to me 36 points as captain so I am very happy and fully engaged. So fire away Josh, give me what you've got. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Ooh. Dom Salah in case, goes again. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Did you? Nice. There seems to be... Right. Charleston's definitely found some form, hasn't he? Yeah. Ah. One question I've got, Josh. Is there any news on Salah's timeout? Is that in time for their double? It's not, is it? It's too late for their double. Ooh. Do I keep him then? He sat on my bench, Josh. What do I do? What do I do? How much is the cost difference between him and Harland? In Harland's favour. Hmm. Interesting. Interesting time. This is where it gets juicy, isn't it? Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. He's got Palace next to him. They're shit, aren't they? Yeah. Hmm. Which weekend is the Cavalero Cup? Is that game week 26? Yeah. Hmm. OK. Yeah. Nobody's keeping clean sheets, though, are they? Hmm. Hmm. Aki seems to be playing a lot, doesn't he? Which is good. Yeah. Pep Roulette will come back into play. Hmm. Hmm. Yeah. Give me a right headache. I've got a... I'm starting to invest in it now. I actually listened to this action for once, Josh. HE LAUGHS Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Right. Yeah. Onwards and upwards for the next season. Let's all smash it. Let's get as many Kylie's as we can. Yeah. See you Friday. Have a great evening. Bye. Oh, I've rubbed my eyes.
