Nothing to say, yet
The speaker talks about their own personal struggles and the importance of having a positive mindset. They then discuss the achievements of individuals in a weight loss group. The speaker praises the commitment and dedication of the group members. They also mention some football transfer news and discuss the financial aspects of transfers. They highlight the surprise of a player moving to a lower league team and the transfer of Neymar to Al Halaoui. Yep, ready when you are. Doing really well, how are you? Yeah, it's been a relatively tricky week so far. I think much like others there's peaks and troughs and I feel myself in a little bit of a trough and working really hard to try and bring that back round. But I know that there's so much of the mind over matter with it and I just need to get back on a hot focus on it and really make sure that I'm doing all the right things. Just be sensible, everything in moderation I think is the key. I'd like to see that based on last week's results I'd hope to have lost something. But yeah, it could be better, it certainly could be worse. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Good. There's always a real positive spin isn't there that you feel like when you're, I was trying to think of the best way of explaining it but it's almost like a positivity bounce isn't it. That week that I lost loads I came away from getting weighed and straight onto the pitch and was buzzing and really enjoyed it. And I think where I've been carrying this knock, it's amazing little things, I think it's all in my psyche but little things can really knock me off course and I can find things really easy to blame. And I need to take accountability and I need to kind of get back on it properly. Yeah. Absolutely yeah. Oh God yeah absolutely. Talking of the community I wanted to run through how we got on this week at Man V Fat Bournemouth. So kicking off we've got one of the nicest lads down there and one of my teammates, I'm a little bit biased but he's a top lad, is Sid. He is now a BMI boss as Dan Lloyd calls it. He has hit maintenance which is an incredible journey for Sid. Yeah what a hero and a top bloke and just consistently losing and you think there's not much left of him to lose. I look at him going how have you lost again, how have you lost again but it's all such a strong mentality, it's such a willingness to do well and he fully deserves what he's done. So well done mate, really really good. And then we've got a couple of newbies or relatively new guys, I think new guys this season. So Gareth's hit is 10% which is incredible and that's for the yellows and Billy hit 5% for the blues. So well done Billy as well, incredible work. Two very very new guys to the league and absolutely smashing it and doing really well. Yeah do you know I was thinking that the other day when somebody said about the podcast and how they love hearing the call outs. Because I know Steve sends out his message or Dan in his absence and everybody gets that message and it's always a buzz when you're on that kind of roll call list. But especially more so that they're hearing it again now and we're kind of adding a bit of context to it and adding a bit of extra to it. But those three have done amazingly and moving on to that roll call of kind of like the top five I think or yeah top six we've got this week. So we've got Johnny who has done amazing, he's been away in America. So I've recently followed his Instagram, he's been here there and everywhere in America and we know what, without being too derogatory, we know what American portion sizes are like. And he's come back and lost 3.3 kilograms from his last weigh in. So whatever he's done, amazing work mate. And again there's a mentality thing there because I know that I could go there and come back as big as a house. So amazing work mate. Next up we've got, we call him New George because we've got an old George in the club. So New George with an incredible 2.8. Did you say he's on your team or am I right in thinking that? That's it, yep. So yeah, amazing work George, really good work. Super Baza, another shout out for the Whites, lost 2.8 kilograms which is just a real good turnaround. He had a bit of a blowout and a lovely holiday with the family and come back and right some wrongs in terms of his weight and did amazingly. Billy's obviously on there for hitting his 5% but also he lost 2.3. So brilliant work again mate. Dimmy, 1.7, one of the OG's of the team. Same with Ramsey, one of the OG's at 1.6 kilograms lost. So incredible work guys, it's always a tricky task getting yourself on that top 5 or top 6 list. And there's some names that just keep popping up and keep doing really well. So well done everyone. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, absolutely. One thing I was meant to ask you mate. I'm in, so we're in obviously for everybody not playing at Man V Flat Bournemouth, we're in the first season of new teams. And up until today, recording on Thursday the 17th, the Whites haven't needed a ringer once yet. And it's the first time I've got this far into any season with any team not needing a ringer. And it looks like tomorrow we don't need one either. So the commitment levels, especially this time of year where you've got family holidays, you've got barbecues and those sorts of things that can throw you off and people go, actually I probably could be available but I know I've not had a good week, I'm not going to go. The commitment levels, I was talking to Ben earlier today, the commitment levels of this season so far has just been above and beyond anything either of us have seen since being there from the start. And we're really on the cusp I think, and Steve Couch will confirm, that we're almost looking to start to add another two teams to the league which will just be amazing to keep broadening the league and make it bigger and better. So well done everybody, not just those guys whose names I've had shouts out, but well done everybody for the commitment so far this season. I've certainly noticed it and I know the other captains have and the other vice-captains certainly have. Yeah, absolutely, completely agree. Right, shall we move on to some football headlines. So what we'd like to do is, if you're okay with it Josh, pick out three transfers that have caught your attention so far since last week, since we last recorded and kind of add a little bit of context to it and see what each of you think about it. If you want to jump in with your first one if you want. Oh yeah, wow. Hmm. Hmm. Yeah. That is a great big custard pie isn't it. Oh here we go. Yeah. No. Yeah, I think in simplicity terms, I think it's based on how much your net profit is, but also what your income is as a team. So in terms of sponsorship, and incredibly they still don't have a sponsor on the front of their shirt. I think that may be changing, but there's still some room for wiggle with the FFP. And again, I don't know the ins and outs of it and to be honest I think it can send you in a spiral. You listen to Talk Sport and Simon Jordan go on about it all day every day and it kind of makes sense, but probably makes more sense in his head how he explains it, but it's crazy. One thing I wanted to pick up on is the whole Bellingham thing, because I think the yarn that everybody was spun when they were talking about Bellingham or trying to get to Bellingham was that we're a club that won't be spending that sort of money on a player. We walk away because we don't spend that sort of money on a player, where clearly whatever's happened, whether there has been a mentality change or that isn't quite true, and Bellingham was always going to go to Madrid and Liverpool got yet another custard pie along this transfer window. They've used that as a, okay, we'll go with that narrative because that makes us look a bit better that we're trying to play, because Klopp definitely played the card of, I can't believe any club would ever spend that sort of money on a player. We won't be doing that and fast forward six months, he's looking a little bit silly. Yeah, and let's see, we might be talking about Labia next week as well, another custard pie room. Yeah, and it was all for a new contract. It is, yeah. Yeah. I've got my bio-music show, don't worry about that. Harry Kane on the back for all the Spurs fans at Man V Fat. I'll be rubbing that in. Yeah. Yeah. You probably know better than I, I can't think of any English player that's made that transition to the Bundesliga, especially to Bayern Munich. Off the top of my head, I can't think of an English player that's played for them. Yeah, of course, yeah. I guess Sancho as well. I guess there's one other is Musiala, but he's actually, he actually plays for Germany now as well, doesn't he? I think he's British born, but German parent or parents or whatever that may be, but yeah, it's interesting, really interesting. What's your third one, mate? Okay. Okay, cool. Alright, so one that jumped out at me that I was quite surprised where he went, I wasn't surprised that he left his Tupac Pond to Ajax for Middlesbrough. Now, Middlesbrough have got a pretty hefty 10, I think it's 10 and a half million from Ajax for him. And I kept seeing that he was being left out the first couple of games of the season. I keep a close eye on him because he's ex-Arsenal. I think he's ex-Arsenal graduate, I don't think he ever made a first team appearance. I'm trying to wrap my brains, I'm pretty sure he didn't. And I think it's an unbelievable move for him. I was expecting him to go to Premier League, I would be somebody that Bournemouth, I think, should probably have looked at or something like that. But fair play to him going to Ajax, he'll play Champions League football, incredible stadium, incredible atmosphere within that stadium, fan base is fanatic. I don't think they'll ever be, or any time soon be competing for the best honours in Europe, but they are a very good team and a very good philosophy about them. So that's one that kind of caught my attention. Neymar to Al Halaoui, I think that's how it's pronounced. So £78 million from, yeah, so PSG have got some money out of Sally eventually. Obviously the Mbappe situation rumbles on but I don't think he'll be going this summer. Neymar, when we were talking a couple of weeks back about that list of players that would be up high on there that you'd expect to go, he is absolutely one of those. That just confirms for me his Hall of Fame in the Shithouse Awards, he is right up there and that just kind of tells you a lot about him. Yeah. I'm just glad he's not come to the Premier League to be honest. Do you know what, I think Man United evolved before Ten Hag, screamed out Neymar signing. It was kind of like that Sanchez move or Cavani or Ibrahimović, you kind of feel that odd kind of position within the team or the kind of transfer that United would do. I kind of expected it from United but thankfully it didn't transpire. And my last one is a player that I rate very highly and somebody that I think is an absolute baller and an incredible technician is James Ward-Prouse. Going to West Ham, he adds three kicks alone, direct three kicks alone, he'll score a minimum of five I reckon this season and I'm sticking my neck out of the line a little bit with these predictions. But his quality of pass, you've got players like Sucek, Zouma, I don't think Maguire's going anymore but he would have loved the deliveries that Ward-Prouse was putting in the box room as an attacking centre-back. I think we've also got Antonio that's going to get on the end of things, they're going to score because of him and because of his delivery. That takes them from a team that I would worry about to a team that I expect to be comfortable and I think he's massively underrated. I just like everything about him as a person, he was saints through and through, he's been there since a lad and has got them a transfer fee that probably could have been considerably more maybe two years ago. But £30 million in the back pocket for saints again on top of everything else they're going to be getting in from selling other players, I think that's a great deal for everyone and I think he goes with their blessing. What I love about him is that you drop him into that team, you don't have to worry about him adapting to the league, you don't have to worry about him adapting to anything. He's such a professional and such a good player that it would just be so easy for him to seamlessly fit in and start turning some of those iffy results that West Ham get to draws or even to wins, so I think it's a cracking sign. We were playing football weren't we? Literally his first kick of the ball, the robot continues to do what the robot does. It did worry me a little bit and you are right, the shades of last season within there, I think the positives to take from it and again I don't want to spend too much time on Arsenal, Bournemouth and United but the positives from my perspective was how well we coped with a very deep defensive line, two banks of four. Effectively two banks of five to keep us out there, they really dug in and really did what they needed to do to try and starve Arsenal of opportunity and Arsenal did well to break that down and the two goals, wow. I don't know if Martinelli meant his little flick or not, I don't care either way, it was an unbelievable bit of skill and he's just a magician and then what more can you say about Saka, just an unbelievable goal. One that you just sit there and go yeah, this guy is the real deal. Do you know what the scary part of this as well is, everybody that has played with them and done interviews, they talk about Martinelli and Saka in a similar sort of light and one of the frightening things that they say is that there is still room for improvement in both of them which is just so exciting from my perspective and any Arsenal fan should think the same. You're right Forrest did show a bit of grit and probably too late it pisses me off that it takes them to go 2-0 down in the last 15 minutes to start playing but when they did they really got going. I think Steve Cooper knows what he's doing and I was impressed by the majority of what they did. I think so but they've just got to start picking up some of these points away from home and we can see them going in the right direction. Definitely, I think they're a good value for the point at least like you say and interestingly there was a few things that stood out for me. I watched this one on a completely illegal stream if any police are listening. They played very well and Semenyu came on and I've not seen a lot of him and he did well. He inadvertently got an assist, I wouldn't call it an assist because it was a horribly dragged shot but just the energy and the change of emphasis when he came on adding another striker to that team is almost going back to when you had Callum Wilson and Josh King together adding that extra dynamic up there. One thing that I noticed weirdly is Phil Billings changed the back of his shirt to Philip so I don't know what that's about. Did they? I guess it's their God-given right to have whatever they want on the back of their shirt. Oh, good man. Yeah, Jarrod Bowen's goal by the way, very similar to Sackett's, unbelievable, unsaveable. Yeah. Definitely. I was really impressed by Max Aarons and Louis Paquetard played obviously being heavily linked with the move to City. I think it would have been very easy to not include him but I thought he played well defensively. That's one thing that really stood out for me. I've never really properly watched him until the weekend and his defensive contribution was really good and I'm impressed. I think it would be City pulling out another Worldie, no doubt. But yeah, all in all, a fair result. Like you say, I think Bournemouth probably could have shaded it but I'd take that as a start of the season and move on. Yeah. No. Yeah. No, I saw the highlights and the result is definitely where it should be. I think Brighton probably could have had a couple more but they are going to do great things under Derby this season I think. Yeah. Yeah. So just looking at the stats, they had 19 shots against 9, 9 on target against 2 in Everton's favour. So Everton's possession was in their favour as well. So all they need is a Calvert-Lewin fit and running and I think they'll get going. Yeah, absolutely. Sorry, we'll cut that bit out. I've just closed the window because the next one was dog. Go on, we'll start again. On to Sheffield United against Crystal Palace. I think it's another game, I think it was only this game and the Everton game that both teams didn't score in and I think we don't learn a great deal from Sheffield United or Palace in this. It's a result I expected. Reports I've read because I'm really interested to see how Lerma does as you know I'm a big fan of his and very, very positive response from a lot of the Palace fans that watched him play. I think he did really well. Go on. Go on. Oh yeah, yeah absolutely. I did not see this coming. Yeah, did you see him celebrate? He looked pumped. Everybody's saying he didn't want to be there but I think that's probably the first time he's heard St James' Park really get up for it and I'm sure he's played in a couple of pre-season friendlies that might have whet the appetite but it was rocking by all accounts and fair play to them. Really, really good result. Yeah. Yeah. Definitely. I think we'll learn a lot about him with this documentary. I've not watched the first one yet. What I'm going to do is because I think they're releasing them weekly and I'm going to bank them up and watch them all together. Maybe it's something we can talk about once it's done and kind of give our opinions on that. That would be great. Yeah. Yeah, I definitely noticed that. No. Fair play to them. I don't think he played under De Servi but one thing he said is that they can buy our players but they can't buy our soul, they can't buy our spirit and I thought, yeah, do you know what? Fair play to you. That's a real good way of thinking about it because if you think these players that do go and all this pressure that's put upon them for these big transfer fees, especially with Casino, the pressure on him now is huge. We spoke about it with Rice and I just feel for them when that pressure is on there. I'd prefer all transfers to be an undisclosed fee and just know that they've moved personally because that will release them a little bit from that pressure. But that's it. That's my opinion on it and I think, as I say, go circle back round. I think Asum is a good player and I think hopefully it'll be his breakout season. I think he was injured for quite a lot of last season and as much as I don't want Spurs to do well I think he's very important to that team. Yeah, that's it. No, no. Yeah, definitely. And then to round up Super Sunday was Chelsea-Liverpool, which I thoroughly enjoyed, especially with Peter Tururi and his commentating. I've been waiting. I saw you drop in the group chat about anybody know when he's on and he was brilliant. Yeah, I think there's been so many rumours about who he supports and how he behaved when each team scored. I think he got to a point where he was just like, I'll just be completely boring and neutral for everyone. I've probably had enough of him. I loved his And It's Live thing where he picked up his own little catchphrase and whatever else there. But I think, like footballers, everything moves on and I think Peter Tururi is the right man at the right time for Sky Sports. Yeah. Yeah, I caught a lot of it on social media before the Arsenal games really, a lot of it on TikTok and things like that because he was doing the US games I think or the US channels and his poetry is such a brilliant wordsmith and just kind of brings it to life even more than it already does. Yeah, I rate him very highly. But him aside, it was an unbelievable game as well. A really, really good game. I think Chelsea and Liverpool both showed in glimpses and in small parts some really, really good intent and I'm expecting good things as you already know about Liverpool. And I think once they, if they do, nail down a couple of more signings, I think their front line is just frightening and Salah was just brilliant. I was gutted that he didn't get that goal. It was slightly offside but I think the whole world knows his wife has got Salah in their team for fancy football so I was quite happy about that because I didn't. Yeah. Oh, the potential is there. Yeah. Yeah. You've got a feel for him, haven't you? Any idea who their vice-captain is then? I haven't. Yeah, or even Chilwell. Somebody like that. I think Target Seal was the obvious one, isn't he, in terms of experience or whatever. But I think Potch has proven, just within that game, that there's lots to improve on but there's also some real good stuff from there. Yeah. Yeah. Definitely. I think there's loads to be positive on and I'm hoping that that gives them that positivity they need to get behind him. I thought there was a few standout players. That Kuna looked unbelievable carrying the ball. He's a centre-forward from what I know or he's listed as a centre-forward but him breaking forward with that ball and driving at that old, slow Manchester United midfield was brilliant. Unbelievable. What a sight, a player driving forward like that and splitting a team, not even just a defence or a midfield. He's split a lot of them. So, yeah, kudos to them and I think Wolves should be relatively optimistic. They've got some great players. Keep hold of them. Lamina as well. I think the ex-Southampton player played well. Did get himself booked but got himself into some right places. A real battler in that midfield room. I was not impressed by anybody for Man United. I'm sure you'll come on to your team in a moment but I don't think Garnaccio played particularly well. Every time they cut to him he's pulling a face that I just can't stand. As if he's kind of like, it's somebody else's fault, it's not mine. Mace didn't play very well. Mason Mount didn't play very well. Anthony I think is up there for me as probably one of the players that will have a tough, tough season and probably start losing his place more regularly. We've had lots to say, you and I, about Lissandro Martinez and I think he got taken off at half time, rightfully so, because he was on the cusp of getting sent off and he's just a bull in a china shop majority of the time. I think they're expression on their face as well. Like you say, there must be something Argentinian that they do or something that the Italians do, their fingers and their thumbs together. It's almost like the Argentinians just pull a face and just blame everybody else and just very emotional I guess, that's probably the best term. Yeah. Like Bruno I think. Surely you don't like him whinging though. You saw, do you remember that game, sorry just quickly, that game against Liverpool where he's throwing his arms around. Gary Neville picked up on it and I think Roy Keane had a whale of a time with it. He's a captain of that team, he's throwing his arms around and blaming everybody else. What I want is I want to see him pull up his socks and go, right, I'm the leader of this team, I'm the captain of this team, I need to drag this team up, I need to get things going. Yeah. Yeah, fair enough. No, see I thought you were going to say he's the first to pop up on socials but you all know that somebody else writes every single tweet for all of those players. So I'm glad you said interview because that's a bit more raw and I know they're all media trained but it's a bit more raw and a bit more honest. Yeah, fair play to him. Yeah. Oh, he looked to clam at you by the way, didn't he? You're not justifying it though, are you? Good. You're good, OK. OK. You say consistent, I say consistently shit. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I think if you look in the context of it, it's what bugs me and I've tossed and turned over this and other decisions this weekend. And what really bugs me is that it kind of plays to the narrative that it's a big club decision. It's United, United get those decisions and don't get given them decisions. I think if that was the other end and the Wolves keeper comes out and clatters Rashford or whatever, clatters the centre back, hopefully Martinez, for a penalty, he's rolling around old in his face like he's been shot in it and the penalty's given. The Stratford end is up in arms, penalty's given. And that's the frustrating part of it. I think, yes, you're right. It's the only game that's on. It's Monday Night Football. First Monday Night Football of the season. Everybody's sat home watching it. Everybody's on two screen and messaging on what's that going. It's got to be a penalty. The underlying problem I see with it, and this is, I think I might keep a little tally chart, is we've got a PGMOL apology straight away. And that straight away is the problem. Yeah. Yeah, well, they can't control everything he does, can they? No. His yellow card should be rescinded, right, as well. I bet it's not, but it should be. He still lost his rag, didn't he? Yeah. I guess, regardless of the outcome, he lost his shit, didn't he? And I think that's inevitably the problem there. Oh, yeah. Yeah. What do you think about the new referee rulings as a whole, then? So, if we say the timing situation and start there, what do you think about the added time? So, just quickly, from what I've heard, again, listening to a lot of talk sport, I think the first weekend of the season in the Football League, in the Championship, there was only two games that didn't go over 100 minutes in total. So, we spoke about this before the season started again. We're looking forward to it. How do you feel about it now? Yeah. Yeah. Me too. Yeah. You know, what I like about it is that you're right. If you think about it from an entertainment perspective rather than what the managers are saying about the extra time, if you times that over the 38 games of a season, it's a lot of, say, 10 minutes extra per game over that 38 games. There's a serious amount of time added. What it does give you is when that board goes up and it was last season or up until last season, this season, two, three minutes and you're two on down, that burst of energy that you get when you see that board as a home crowd, you go, right, come on, let's go, big cheers, everybody's up for it, everybody's getting up for it. That becomes a bit frantic that last, if you think about the amount of goals conceded within that last kind of extra time, it always becomes a bit more frantic. And from an entertainment perspective, how much better is it for somebody that will sit and watch every game on Sky and BT Sports and all of the non-illegal sites that you see them on? To see that over every game, an extra 10 minutes rather than an extra two minutes of frantic mental excitement, it's almost like last day of school, do you remember kicking around at school, free-for-all for the last 10 minutes, all in instead of football training where you're meant to be passing the ball two or three times before you can get a goal, whatever that is. It's like the coach going, right, all in, let's go, and it just goes mental, doesn't it? I think that helps and that, for the entertainment level, it ticks a big box for me. I can tell you one person that does not enjoy it, and that is my wife. She shouts in, how long's left? And I go, I don't know. It's like three or four minutes until the end before they put the board up. How long's left? I genuinely don't know. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, I think that's summarised the time inside it. What about the leniency on the physicality? I've noticed a certain leniency. Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Martínez. Jumped on the bait there, didn't I, straight away. Yeah, so to coincide with the injuries, the one thing that I noticed, and it's become obvious, and the commentators were kind of talking us through it on some of the games, is when a player gets treatment, they get taken off. They have to get taken off before, I think it is, if there's a yellow card, they don't have to leave the pitch for one or two minutes. And I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. Yeah, what's interesting about that whole energetic side on the sidelines is the fans love it in terms of the home fans. If you think about the abuse that Graham Potter got at Chelsea for making it look like he didn't give a shit. Half the time he sat there scribbling in his notepad and kind of gave the perception that he didn't give a shit or he wasn't as passionate as he should be. If he's not passionate, who are the players looking to for inspiration and that sort of thing. There's a fine line between the two. There's times that I've watched Arp Teta and gone, that's too far. And there's times that I've watched Arp Teta going, I love that. I love that energy from him and I want him to see that. I love that energy from him and I want him to see that. I love that energy from him and I want him to see that. I love that energy from him and I want him to see that. I love that energy from him and I want him to see that. I love that energy from him and I want him to see that. I love that energy from him and I want him to see that. I love that energy from him and I want him to see that. I love that energy from him and I want him to see that. I love that energy from him and I want him to see that. Yeah, absolutely. You're calling me out there, Josh Feble.
