At Ease on Lethe Wharf

"At Ease on Lethe Wharf" is a poem written by Helen Coale Crew, an American poet and novelist. This poem, which was featured in the Weekly Poetry project on April 14th, 2013, beautifully captures the concept of forgetfulness. The title refers to Lethe, the river in Greek mythology that souls had to cross to reach the Elysian Fields, their version of heaven. Drinking from Lethe was believed to erase all memories.
