Die Ahnen - Die Geschwister

"Die Ahnen - Die Geschwister" by Gustav Freytag is a story that revolves around the history of two military men from the same family. The fifth tale is split into two parts, and it follows the life of Bernhard König, the 'Rittmeister von Alt-Rosen', towards the end of the 30-year war. His son, Bernhard Georg König, serves as a military chaplain and later marries a wealthy merchant's daughter from Leipzig.
