This is a transcription of a prayer session discussing the power of God's presence using the story of Joseph from the Bible. Joseph achieved success in his life because of God's presence with him, even in difficult circumstances. The presence of God is tangible and cannot be ignored. It is important to cultivate God's presence in our lives through prayer and obedience to experience true success and prosperity. Despite pain and difficult situations, we should not forsake God's presence but seek it continually. The session ends with a prayer for grace to cultivate God's presence and an invitation to join for a lunch hour prayer.
Shalom Beloved, God richly bless you for joining the Just Endless Prayer Tithe. We thank God for this day to spend time in His Word. Accelerating today's devotion is Charlotte Kachanodoku from Harvest Chapel International, Denyami, Comoros. Let's kindly share a word of prayer. Father, we thank you for this morning and the opportunity to listen to your word. We pray the entrance of your word brings light and understanding. In Jesus' name, Amen. Let's take our confession from Joshua Chapter 1, Verse 8.
This book of the law shall not depart out of my mouth, but I shall meditate in it day and night, that I may observe to do, according to all that is written in it. For then I will make my way prosperous, and then I will have success. Amen. The topic for today's devotion is The Power of God's Presence, taken from Genesis Chapter 39, Verse 1 to 6. Genesis Chapter 39, Verse 1 to 6, and I read from the King James Version.
And Joseph was brought down to Egypt, and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of a guard, an Egyptian, brought him of the hands of the Egyptian allies, which he had brought down to Egypt. And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was the prosperous man, and he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and the Lord meant all that he did to prosper in his hand.
And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him, and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. And it came to pass, from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake. And the blessing of the Lord was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field, and he left all that he had in Joseph's hand.
And he knew not what he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goody person, and well favored. Amen. The Power of God's Presence Beloved, the Bible recounts the story of a young man named Joseph, who was sold into slavery by his own brothers. Despite the betrayal and his new circumstances, Joseph was able to achieve great success in everything he did. What is striking about Joseph's success is the fact that it was not just as a result of his own abilities, but rather the Lord's presence in his life that brought about his success.
As Christians, we too can experience success and prosperity in the midst of pain and difficult circumstances, just like Joseph. We must recognize that it is only through our relationship with God that we can achieve true success. In times of pain and betrayal, it can be easy to focus on our own abilities or possession to get us through the situation. However, this will only lead to temporary relief, and will not bring about true success or fulfillment in our lives.
It is only when we tend to God and allow him to guide us that we can experience lasting success and prosperity. One remarkable fact in this story is the ability of Joseph's master to recognize God's presence with him, as we can see in the verses 3. The presence of God is not something that can be hidden or denied. When God is present in a person's life, it is very tangible and cannot go unnoticed. The goodness, wisdom, and favor that a man needs from such a person cannot be ignored or denied.
As we cultivate the presence of God, through prayer, stating and obeying the word, and fellowshipping with other believers, people around us will recognize his presence in us. Beloved, let us not allow situations of life, pain, bitterness, unforgiveness, betrayal, or disappointment to sway us off cultivating the presence of God. While the situation can be brooding grounds for forsaking God, we must trespass them to keep him nearby. It is my prayer that we continually seek his presence in our lives, that we may experience the power of God's presence in Jesus' name.
Amen. We will take our memory verse of Genesis chapter 39 verse 2. And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man, and he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian. Amen. Let's say a word of prayer. Father, we thank you for today's word. We pray that you grant us the grace to daily cultivate your presence, despite whatever pain or situations we may find ourselves in. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Thank you Beloved and God bless you for staying true with us.
