Our Father who dwells in heaven, may your name be praised this morning. We ask God that you speak to us through your word and help us to appropriate your word in our lives. In Jesus mighty name, Amen. Let's take a confession from Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. This book of the law shall not depart out of my mouth, but I shall meditate in it day and night, that I may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then I shall make my way prosperous, and then I will have good success. Amen. Beloved, we continue today with our series, The Chronicles of the Cross. And our topic for today is, One for All, Once for All. One for All, Once for All. And our scripture is taken from Romans chapter 5 verse 8, I read from the King James Version. But God commended his love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. One for All, Once for All. As Christians, we believe that Jesus' death on the cross for our sins was not just an ordinary death, but it was a substitutionary and permanent sacrifice for all who believe in him. This means that Jesus died in our place and paid the penalty for our sins once and for all. Jesus' death on the cross was a substitutionary sacrifice. He took our place and paid the penalty for our sins. The Bible says, For the wages of sin is death, Romans 6.23. We all deserve death because of our sin, but Jesus died in our place so that we could be forgiven and have eternal life. As born-again believers, we have received this forgiveness and eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. We are no longer condemned because of our sin, but we have been made righteous through the blood of Jesus. This is good news that we should never forget or take for granted. Not only was Jesus' sacrifice substitutionary, but it was also permanent. The Bible says, But when this priest had offered for all time once sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, Hebrews 10.12. Jesus' sacrifice was not a temporary fix, but it was a once-for-all sacrifice that took care of all our sins, past, present, and future. As born-again believers, we can rest in the assurance that our sins have been forgiven once and for all. We do not need to keep asking for forgiveness or trying to earn God's favor. Jesus has already done everything necessary for our salvation. All we need to do is believe and receive this gift of grace. So how do we appropriate this truth in our daily lives? We can start by thanking God for His incredible love and grace. We can also remind ourselves daily of the truth that Jesus' sacrifice was substitutionary and permanent. When we attempted to doubt our salvation or feel condemned because of our sin, we can remember that Jesus died for us and that His sacrifice was enough. We can also share this good news with others. There are many people in the world who do not know about Jesus' sacrifice and the gift of salvation that He offers. As born-again believers, we have a responsibility to share this message of hope with others. In conclusion, Jesus' substitutionary and permanent sacrifice on the cross is the foundation of our salvation as born-again believers. It is a truth that we should hold on to and appropriate in our daily lives. Let us never forget the incredible love and grace that God has shown us through His Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
