The speaker welcomes the audience to a morning devotion and prays for God's presence. They read a confession from Joshua 1:8 and introduce the theme of undying hope. They discuss the importance of faith, hope, and love, and how the hope of believers is based on unchanging truth. The undying hope is built on the foundations of believing that God exists, that He cares, that He can, and that He will. They encourage listeners to reflect on their own lives and the evidence of God's existence. They emphasize the need to have a conviction that God is and how it transforms one's attitude and relationship with Him. The speaker concludes with a prayer and thanks the audience for listening. Shalom wonderful family and welcome to today's morning glory devotion. God bless you for being a part of the just ended prayer time. My name is Joshua from Harvest Chapel International Akumasi and it is a privilege to be facilitating today's morning glory devotion. Let us pray. Father we thank you for another wonderful day. Lord this morning we pray for your presence to be with us as we study your word. As we listen to your word let hope be renewed in us and cause our faith to be perfected. In the name of Jesus we pray with thanksgiving. Amen. Let us take a confession from Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. This book of the law shall not depart out of my mouth but I shall meditate in it day and night that I may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then I will make my way prosperous and then I will have good success. Amen. The theme for today's devotion is undying hope. This will be a five-part series and our scripture readings will be from Hebrews chapter 11 verse 6 and 1 Corinthians chapter 13 verse 13. Hebrews chapter 11 verse 6. I'll be reading from the World English Bible. Without faith it is impossible to be world-pleasing to him. For he who comes to God must believe that he exists and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. Amen. 1 Corinthians chapter 13 verse 13. I'll be reading from the New Living Translation. Three things will last forever, faith, hope and love and the greatest of these is love. Amen. One dictionary defines hope as the expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen. As human beings we all have expectations and desires and these expectations and desires can be based on a wide range of things, many of which we may not be conscious of. The hope of the believer is unique in that it is based on unchanging truth. As we read from the second passage, faith, hope and love are close siblings. The scriptures say in Hebrews chapter 11 verse 1 that faith is the assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen. The undying hope of the believer is built on four truths or foundations which are 1. God is, 2. God cares, 3. God can, 4. God will. Through the scriptures and throughout church history we see men and women overcoming great challenges and despair. Their secret was the undying hope built upon the knowledge and understanding of these four foundations. The first foundation of the undying hope of the believer is faith in the existence of God. As Hebrews chapter 11 verse 6 says, He that comes to God must believe that He exists. Beloved, this is where the journey begins. Believing that God exists is not the same as wishing that He exists. Believing is a strong conviction that God is. It is intentional and well thought out. God in His mercy reveals Himself to us in diverse ways. He has left evidence of Himself in nature and always reserves for Himself witnesses in every generation. God does His part by making Himself accessible to those who take hold of these evidences and seek Him out. Our part as people is to take hold of these evidences and the things He has revealed to us and consider and conclude that indeed He is. There are many who go about the routines of going to church and adhere to some form of moral code without seriously considering and being convicted of the existence of God and the weight of that realization. There are those of us who do the things we do with a just-in-case mentality. Maybe a prick just scared you by talking about hell and because of that you decided to start going to church just in case there really is hell, just in case there really is heaven, just in case God really exists. Beloved, the just-in-case mentality can only take you so far. You cannot truly know God with a just-in-case mentality. To experience and benefit from the gift which is the undying hope available to the believer, you must graduate from the just-in-case mentality to conviction that God is. Beloved, why don't you take the time and consider? So that you reflect on your life and the many evidences and witnesses that God has brought your way so far. Why don't you search through His word and consider His testimony about Himself and you? Beloved, if you are to stand strong and reach the expected conclusion of the journey you are on, you must have a conviction that God is. A conviction that grows from day to day as each new day brings fresh evidence and knowledge of His existence. Do not take the existence of God for granted. Sooner than later, you will need the conviction that God is. A true and conscious realization that God is will transform your attitude towards the things of God and your relationship with Him. Amen. Let us take our memory verse from Hebrews chapter 11 verse 6. Without faith, it is impossible to be well-pleasing to Him. For he who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. Amen. Let us pray. Father, we thank You for Your word that has come to us today. We pray that Your light will continue to shine upon us, that we may see and know that You are indeed who You say You are, bring us all to conviction and to maturity in our work of faith, and furnish in us that undying hope that will help us to get to the end of our journey in victory. In the name of Jesus, we pray with thanksgiving. Amen. Thank you for listening. And stay tuned for more spirit-filled content on Radio HCI today. Until we come your way tomorrow morning at the same time, do stay blessed. Amen.
