This episode of a Bible study focuses on the importance of mentoring and mentorship. The speaker, Reverend Dr. Femi Oduwole, discusses various examples from the Bible, such as Moses and Joshua, Elijah and Elisha, and Jesus and his disciples, to emphasize the positive impact of mentoring. He encourages listeners to learn from these examples and to seek out mentors in their own lives. The speaker concludes with a prayer and invites listeners to visit a website for more resources. Hello and welcome to join this chariot for a five minutes Bible study. This episode 47 on a step of faith is titled Apprenticeship part 3. My name is Greg Alabi and I'm inviting you to come let us study the Bible together. Today we have another servant of God in the house who will be sharing with us on mentorship. This is a man who has mentored several other young and old people to become successful in various endeavors in life. Please join me to welcome Reverend Dr. Femi Oduwole from Nigeria. This is a friend that was selected to pray his son Telemachus when Odysseus left for the Trojan War. And he said he did such a good job that after that, when they want to refer to somebody that prays and graces another, they use his name. And after a while, it became a verb and a noun to mentor. So today, we want to talk about mentoring. From biblical days, we see the case of Moses and Joshua, Exodus chapter 33, verse 9 and 10 of the Bible. In fact, up until verse number 11, the Bible keeps on talking about God speaking to Moses face to face. But his mentee, Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man did not leave his side. The Bible also talks about Elijah and Elisha. The Bible talks about Oprah and Ruth. The Bible made us realize in Ruth chapter 1, verse 14, that they lifted up their voice and wept. Oprah killed the mother-in-law, but Ruth lived on to her. Then we know of Jesus, of course, and his disciples. He mentored them so much that Acts chapter 4, verse 13, the message translation, says he couldn't take their eyes off them, Peter and John, standing there so confident, so sure of themselves. Their fascination deepened when they realized there was two godly men with no training in scripture or formal education. Then they recognized that they must have been companions of Jesus. Is that not powerful? They met them, they looked at them, and they said the only way they could have become this advanced in thought and action is that they must have been mentored by Jesus. Not to talk about Paul and Timothy, Paul and Titus. And in 2 Timothy, the Bible made us realize in chapter 2, verse 2, he said the things you have heard of me among many witnesses, you who commit to faithful men, thou wilt be able to teach others also. I call that mentoring in three, four dimensions. Me, Paul, that I have committed to you, Timothy, you who commit to faithful men, thou wilt be able to teach others also. That is four-dimensional belief. He said in mentoring, you who commit to faithful men, thou wilt be able. The problem we have right now is a lot of people are trying to commit unto evil men, hoping they will be faithful, and it does not work like that. Once again, my name is Albert Tutuole, and I'm speaking for Genesis Chariot with Greg Hallaby. God bless you. Wow! That is deep. That is rich. I want to encourage you to play it over and over. Listen to this message again over and over, and really digest what this servant of God is passing on to us about the need for mentoring and mentorship when we want to take a step of faith to accomplish anything. There have been several success stories in the Bible. He just told us not one of them, notice very well, not one of the people who were mentored failed in life. If anything, they became very successful in their endeavors. I want to encourage you, listen again for the next episode. This man of God still has more to share with us in the next episode coming up. But at this point, I want us to pray. Father, we thank you for the lessons we are learning through your servant, Dr. Femi Oduwali. Thank you for using him to instruct us today. We pray for him that you continue to anoint him and use him to be a blessing to many more. We also pray that the lessons we have learned today give us grace to follow instructions from our mentor. In Jesus' name, Amen. I want to invite you to please visit our website, gregalabby.com. Look for the podcast. Listen to them. God bless you.
