Hello and welcome to Join This Chariot for a 5-Minute Bible Study. This 21st episode on A Step of Faith is titled Enduring Difficult People Part 3. My name is Greg Alabi and I am inviting you to come let us study the Bible together. We want to thank all of you who have sent in your comments and advice on working with difficult people when you want to take a step of faith to achieve something significant. We encourage and welcome more contributions and advice on this matter. Some group of difficult people to work with are those who the Bible describes in Proverbs chapter 26 verse 13 who will tell you that there is a lion on the road. No matter which road you decide to travel, no matter what option you take, all they see are the dangers, the discouragements, the disadvantages, the risks and anything to kill the morale. They never offer you any solution nor are they willing to lead in resolving the problem. Let alone see the benefits or the reward that is ahead if you take the step of faith. Having people like that in your team could kill the spirits if care is not taken. Caution, I mean taking precaution is supposed to provide guidelines on how to avoid or manage the danger ahead. It's not supposed to be the reason for withdrawal, for fear or for stagnation. The voice of caution is expected to tell us what to do to avoid getting into trouble and not the reason to prevent us from moving forward. If all you see is the danger and the problem ahead and you do not see any way forward or anything to inspire us to go after the reward ahead, then we need more clarification and more information to help us move forward and be problem solvers who offer solutions. Now let us learn some valuable lessons from 2nd Kings chapter 6 verse 8 to 12. Hopefully, the lessons derived will teach us that the voice of caution protects from danger, not paralyze or cause fear to hinder progress when we want to take a step of faith. In that story, the king of Syria was at war attacking Israel. He met with his special advisors to decide the place to use as his military base to camp in. Elijah the man of God sent a message to the king of Israel warning him to beware and not pass through or go near that area. So the king of Israel cautioned his people. This happened on several occasions. The king of Syria became very upset. He called a meeting of all his officers asking them who was betraying him and letting out the secret plans. One of his officers answered, not one of us, rather it is Elijah the prophet that tells the king of Israel about the details of their secret meetings. Now here are some valuable lessons. First lesson here. The voice of caution is to equip us and give us directions, not to strip us of our courage and confidence. Two, the voice of caution is to tell us what or where or who to avoid when we want to move forward, not to stop us from making progress. Third lesson, the voice of caution reveals what the enemy is doing and where the danger is. What the enemy is doing and where the danger is. It does not reveal our own gaps and weaknesses telling us that we are not perfect or good enough. Fourth lesson, the voice of caution should boost our morale by the information it gives to us, not to lower our morale and thereby increase the morale of the enemy when they see that we are discouraged. Fifth lesson, the voice of caution preserves. It does not take away faith to take the step of faith. So what, in your own opinion, should we do when we have that voice or that person in our team who always kills the spirit with no solutions, telling us all the problems in the world and why we should not move forward?
