The speaker thanks their son for introducing them to Save the Manatees Club. 3, 2, 1. When my son was about 7 years old, I think, he came home from school one day and with him he had three letters that he'd written to people and organizations that he really liked. It was for an assignment that his teacher had given him. One of those letters just happened to be Save the Manatees. Now I knew a little bit about the Manatees then, but not really much, so I did some research about Save the Manatees Club and ever since then I've been following them. In this episode, I had the privilege to have Pat Rose join me. He's the Executive Director for Save the Manatees Club. Now he talks all about manatees and also about the support that Save the Manatees Club has been giving to these really cool, peaceful animals. Now here's a couple things. Did you know that their closest land mammal, get this one, is the elephant? Yeah, the elephant. Also, did you know that Jimmy Buffet was instrumental and he helped them become the organization that they really are today? Did you catch the word instrumental? Anyways, in this episode, there's so many stories and so many facts that you're just going to be fascinated with, so join me to listen to one of the world's leading experts, Pat Rose, tell us all about their history, their stories, and how we can support these amazing creatures that I'm just really excited to bring you. It's a really, really cool episode. Lastly, I need to give a special thanks to my son, Tanner Kyle. Tanner, you're the one that taught me all about this organization. Save the Manatees Club. Remember that, everybody. Without you, Tanner, I wouldn't have got this episode out here, so again, thanks from all of us.
