The modernist movement started in the 19th century with the goal of renewing artistic creation by using new poetic resources and disregarding old tendencies that were seen as inefficient. El modernismo tuvo lugar a partir del siglo XIX y cuyo objetivo era la renovación en la creación, valiéndose de los nuevos recursos del arte poético, dejando las tendencias antiguas a un costado, por no considerarlas eficientes.
