Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, hello everyone, welcome to the podcast, me and english department, I am Farouk Rizal and today we are going to talk about my experience in english department, let's get started. Why I joined the english department, first of all, I would like to share why I choose to major in english, for me, english is not just a subject but also the key to access the global world, I am interested in majoring english because I believe the ability to speak in english is a very valuable skill in this globalized era, english is becoming an international language used in various fields and I want to have a solid proficiency in this language. My personal interest in language and communication plays a big role in the decision to choose the english major, I joined the process of communicating and believe that a mystery of the english can open doors to communicate with various people from different backgrounds, an experience that motivated me was when I was involved in a volunteer project when I helped students who were struggling to learn english, seeing the positive changes in their abilities gives me a satisfaction and encourage me to do deeper into study of english, I see majoring english as a strong foundation to achieve my career goals, with good english language skills, I believe I can compete better in the global labor market and have access to various career opportunities. The particular element that attracts me to the subject of english is ability to connect and convey ideas clearly, I am interested in understanding how language can shape role and culture and how effective language use can affect communication. When I first joined this major, my expectations were high, I hope to understand more about the beauty of language and hone my communication skills. My learning experience has been diverse, from literary analysis to creative writing, I found my favorite subject and faced challenges that in turn helped me grow. During my time in this department, I was involved in extracurricular activities, this not only added a new dimension to my learning but also provided opportunities to collaborate with peers. Relationships with lecturers are very important, they not only teach but also guide and inspire. I also found classmates who share similar interests and passions. This course helped me hone my english skills through various teaching approach and creative projects, I feel more confident in communication and writing. As I proceed in this major, I began to understand the career opportunities that can open up from journalist to translation, there are many avenues to explore. For my friends who are thinking of joining the English department, I would like to give some advice.
