On June 4th, 2008, Jodi unexpectedly visited Travis, taking explicit photos and having sex with him. Later, she took pictures of him in the shower and then brutally murdered him. Two accidental photos were taken during the murder, which were used as evidence in court. Jodi spent 45 minutes cleaning up the crime scene, but didn't do a thorough job. She also tried to create an alibi by leaving town and calling Travis, but was eventually convicted of the crime. So, June 4th, 2008, six days before Travis was supposed to leave for Mexico, Jodi again showed up unannounced, but little did we know this would be the last time. What's known from that night prior to the trial is that explicit pictures were taken on Travis's new camera and that Jodi and Travis had sex. So at 5 p.m., Travis got in the shower and Jodi followed. This is where she began taking pictures of him using the same camera that Travis bought earlier that week. From there, Jodi stabbed Travis 27 times, cut his throat, and shot him in the head. During the murder, actually, two accidental pictures were taken, which were later used in court to convict Jodi. One photo was of the wall as the camera fell, and then the other was Jodi's presumed foot and Travis's deceased body as Jodi kicked the camera out of the way while attempting to move Travis to clean up the crime scene. And the time between these two pictures was 62 seconds, which is the time the court presumed that it took Jodi to commit the crime in cold blood. Wow. So Jodi spent 45 minutes after that, apparently, cleaning up the crime scene. So this included wiping the areas with water and a washcloth, where her DNA could be left behind, but she didn't really do a good job. Yeah. So this included actually wiping down Travis's body and deleting the pictures that she took on the camera, and then throwing that camera into the washing machine. So if you think it can't get any crazier than this, she actually ended up driving out of town after this happened and leaving a voicemail and calling Travis in an attempt to form an alibi so she could prove that she's out of town when the murder did happen.
