Nerja is a municipality in Spain known for fishing, agriculture, and its location on the Costa del Sol. The Cape of Nerja is a popular spot with easy access from the Mediterranean motorway. The Balcony of Europe offers incredible views, especially at sunset. Maro Beach is a popular destination with crystal-clear waters and activities like snorkeling and kayaking. The Nerja Cave is one of the largest caves in Andalusia and a must-visit. The Balcony of Europe Tour offers a visit to five emblematic places in Nerja, including the cave and the Balcony of Europe. Nerja is a fishing and agricultural municipality in Spain, belonging to the province of Madagascar. It is located at the easternmost end of the Costa del Sol, based by the Mediterranean Sea, and borders the province of Granada. The Cape of Nerja is located 50 km from Madagascar, and access to it is very easy and is done from the Mediterranean motorway towards Almeria. The Balcony of Europe has incredible views towards Africa, placed by Don Alfonso VII. There is time that I advise you to walk throughout the Balcony of Europe from half past six or seven in the afternoon, because you can see the sunset. The Maro Beach, just 8 km east of Nerja, and one of the most popular beaches in the reserve. Maro Beach is a 500-meter-long wood beach protected by steep cliffs and an imposing Arab watchtower. The Balcony of Europe is a place that is quiet, charming, and all the tourists who visit Nerja will visit this balcony. Here you can take a stroll and ask what numerous artists, musicians, painters, jugglers, do they think. Because it's in the center of Nerja, it's a great spot to meet your friends or family and have an ice cream on one of the benches or in one of the many bars that surround this balcony. The cave of Nerja is located at 158 meters above sea level and is 4,823 meters. One of the caves with the greatest topographic development in Andalusia. They are known as one of the largest caves that make it one of the most important on the peninsula. Within these caves, there is a division by galleries that are made up of different rooms. Maro Beach is a crystalline water made snorkeling and it's been a dream with people coming from all over Spain to witness the beauty of its underwater coral reefs and immense sea life. Kayaking is the most popular sport within the Maro Reserve and excursions led daily from many of the Nerja beaches. Now I'm going to talk about the Balcony of Europe Tour. Welcome to the Balcony of Europe Tour. On this tour, you will visit five of the most emblematic places of this small and well-known Nerja town. We offer audio guides in three languages, English, Spanish and French. This tour is by bus and is available from Monday to Saturday and we are not available on Sundays or holidays. The first stop will be the Nerja Cave which is one of the necessary stops if we come to Nerja. The Nerja Cave opens its doors every day of the year except for January 1 and May 15. Special hours from half past 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Then the last entrance to the cave at 7 p.m. summertime. The general schedule is from half past 9 a.m. to half past 4 p.m. The last entrance to the cave is at half past 3 p.m., time for the rest of the year. The prices to gain access are 14 for adults, 6 for children and 3 for children under 6 years of age. The second stop is Marrow Beach. This stop is completely free. The only thing that can cost you money is parking since it is a bit difficult to find parking nearby but in our case it will not be necessary since we are going by bus. Here we can enjoy the crystalline waters and we can do activities such as kayaking. We still have boats. The third stop will be the Blue Summer Park. It recites this name from a well-known series from the 80s. Due to the great repercussions, they decided to name it a tribute. At this stop, you usually spend a maximum of 30 minutes since it is a point of photography but very historical in itself. The fourth and penultimate stop is the Old Town of Nerja. Here we can learn a little about the architecture from when it was built in 1487 and learn about its history. You can also buy souvenirs. The last stop on the tour is the famous Balcony of Europe. This place has impressive views where you can take pictures with the statue of King Alfonso VIII who baptised this place after the earthquake in 1884. If you want to enjoy a good paella, it is at the Nautico Beach Club Restaurant.
