Thanks for tuning into my podcast called The Digital Marketing U. In my podcast I share tips and tricks I've learned over the years while working with people in radio like intern John of DC's Hot 99.5 Radio and big companies like Apple, Target, Medtronic, and the Mall of America. I'm now a digital marketing specialist for a digital product consultancy. My combined work history and my master's degree in marketing and business has given me a lot of insight and knowledge that I wanna share with entrepreneurs so that they can market their business the best way possible. Before we jump into the content, please like, follow, and subscribe to my podcast as well as drop a comment to let me know what you think. Your ideas and suggestions are only gonna help me make better content for everyone. So let's jump right in. Excuse my dog in the background if you can hear him. But the first thing I wanna talk about is staying neutral. Why do I recommend a lot of businesses, personal brands to stay neutral in their messaging? Because you don't know who's watching, who's listening, and who's sharing your content. If you are putting yourself, your personal opinions, your personal values into your marketing for your business, you might be turning away potential clients and losing out on that revenue. Now it's okay to hyper-focus your messaging, especially if your business model or your target audience is very specific and the messaging is okay. But if you're marketing to a broad audience and you say something that adds too much personal value or personal opinions into it, it might affect you. So stay as neutral as possible. I'm gonna use this ice cream shop that I read about as an example. They posted a sign outside their store saying Muslims get out. Someone saw this sign, they took a picture, and then they posted it online. Now guess what happened? You probably guessed right. This business ended up getting a ton of negative reviews, a ton of people saying to boycott this business, and eventually this business ended up shutting down. So yeah, stay as neutral as possible when it comes to marketing yourself and your business. All right, let's talk about the next piece here. Making sure your social media profiles are consistent. What I mean by that is making sure your profile picture, your profile banner, and your profile bio is the same. You don't wanna have different things in your different social media profiles because it might confuse the person that's trying to follow you or look for you. I've seen a lot of startups, a lot of small businesses try to do too many different things on their social media profiles, where it was like, is this the right person? Is this who I was looking for? So make it so that it's easy to find you. And the first thing to do is making sure your message and your image are the same across your social media platforms. The last thing I wanna talk to you about is creating content. Your content should be creating value to potential buyer or your followers because if you're not addressing a pain point or educating the potential buyer or person that you're trying to attract with something that is of value to them, they might not follow you. They might not even look at your content. They might not stop scrolling to see what you have to talk about. So when you're creating your content, you need that hook to bring them in, to educate them, to tell them why you are trying to help them with a certain need or what you are providing to them addresses a certain need. So think about when you're creating your content, are you just creating content that has no value to your audience or are you creating content that's gonna enrich and help them out in their lives so that it makes their lives easier? Pay attention to the content that you're looking at online on your social media and see what they're doing and what works well and then try to replicate that when you're creating content because if it works for them, it might work for you. And creating content and seeing if it goes viral or if it has some traction is all about testing. So try a few different things out and see if it works for you. Thanks for listening to my podcast, The Digital Marketing U. I hope this information was helpful. Make sure to like and follow and share this podcast to your fellow entrepreneurs.
