The sounds of one's childhood shape their identity. These sounds remain with you throughout your life, reminding you of what you enjoyed. For me, the sound of a lawn mower in the morning signaled the start of the weekend. Playing video games with friends was a crucial part of my happiness and helped me stay connected outside of school. Going outside to play sports with my brother was also a highlight. My energetic dog always lifted my spirits. And ending the weekend with a hockey game was the perfect finale. These sounds and experiences have made me who I am today and will always be cherished. Sounds of a person's childhood make up who they are as a person. You remember these sounds for your entire life and they stick with you throughout your teenage and adult years. Sounds of my childhood are some of the most important sounds in my life because they allow me to look back on my childhood and find out what I really enjoyed. This was a sound that I could hear every single morning when I woke up as a child. I used to find this annoying and to be a burden, but I always enjoyed this sound. It was a signal that my weekend was starting as a child. Sun glaring through my window into my face as I woke up and just the sound of a lawn mower made the beginning of my weekend. When I was a kid, the thing I would do most often with my friends was play video games on the weekend. It was essential to my happiness and a key moment to make my weekend memorable and go by smoothly. Some say video games are bad for kids, but for me it was always a way to connect with my friends outside of school and keep that open line of communication. Going outside was also a major part of my weekend. Hanging out with my brother, practicing one of my favorite sports was always a major highlight. Simply going outside and playing catch with my brother would make my weekend and I feel like sometimes I can still hear the ball hitting the net today. My dog used to also be in the yard, running, barking, panting, wanting to play so bad. He just had so much energy and would always keep my spirits up. Whenever I was tearing down, my dog would be right there sitting, waiting, just wanting to go play. The last part of my weekend as a child was always a hockey game. They were every Sunday and signal my weekend was almost over, but not without a great finale. Just skating on the ice with all my friends in a competitive environment was the perfect way to spend my weekend as a child. The sounds of my childhood were important in making me the person I am today. Each of these sounds will stick with me forever because I heard them every weekend and look forward to them every weekend because these were truly some of my most favorite things I have done and experienced in my lifetime.
