She invites listeners to join her on this journey and share the space with her. Hello, friends, and welcome to the Coffee with Christina podcast. I am doing this, y'all. I am starting a podcast. Oh, my gosh. This has been such a long time coming. Honestly, this has been something I have thought about for the last couple of years. And when I first started thinking about it, though, I was not in the place by any means to be consistent with something like this. And I just wasn't ready in a lot of ways. That's just kind of in the overall theme of my life that life is constantly preparing me for what is next. I was in the middle of completing my doctorate and I was dealing with a lot mentally, emotionally and even physically. It just wasn't the right time. But the seed was planted. And then a few months ago, I mentioned to an online friend that I was seriously considering starting a podcast, but I just wasn't sure, again, if it was the right time. And this friend has a podcast that's very successful in the piano teaching world. And she made the comment, well, if you're anything like me, you won't be able to get away from it. It's just going to follow you until you do it. And y'all, if she was not right, I have not been able to stop thinking about this for months. It's like something in me is telling me that this is without a doubt the next right step for right now in my life. So I'm going with it. And I'm going to be really transparent with you all and tell you, I have no idea what I'm doing. None whatsoever. I am learning this as I go. I'm asking a lot of questions, doing a lot of research and just doing the best that I can. But, you know, aren't we all in one way or another? And as I tell my students often, there is magic in the mistakes. Mistakes show that we are trying something new. And that, my friends, takes courage. So let's embrace these mistakes with all of their magic and go on this journey together. And just in case you're wondering what in the world we are going to talk about here on Coffee with Christina, well, let me tell you. On this podcast, I will share advice and encouragement from my years of experience as a working musician. We will discuss career paths, how to avoid burnout and how to move beyond perfectionism. We will talk about what it's like to realistically live a balanced life as a musician, how life circumstances affect our music and our musicianship. And we'll also share interviews with musicians who are actively working in their field. This podcast is here to help you create and sustain your optimal musician life.
