Today, in technology class, we will start learning about coding. But before we start programming, it is important to understand the meaning of computer science and the tools used in it. Computer science means automatic information. The first tool we will learn about is the computer, which is an electronic machine capable of receiving, transmitting, storing, and processing information. It can also solve problems quickly. With a computer, you can study, write, inform, calculate, play, and shop. The computer is composed of different parts: the central processing unit, the monitor, the keyboard, and the mouse. These parts together make up the hardware. However, the computer needs instructions to function, and these instructions are called software. Prima però di fare programmazione, è bene compiere un passo indietro e andare a ripassare il significato della parola informatica e anche conoscere tutti gli strumenti privilegiati con i quali si fa informatica. Informatica è una parola che significa informazione automatica. Il primo strumento con cui si può fare informatica, ce ne sono tanti, ma il primo che andremo a conoscere è il computer. Il computer è una macchina elettronica capace di ricevere, di trasmettere, di immagazzinare, di elaborare delle informazioni. Anche però, capace di risolvere problemi con straordinaria velocità. Cosa puoi fare col computer? Bene, puoi studiare, puoi scrivere, puoi informare, puoi calcolare, puoi giocare e anche fare acquisti. Il computer, come tutti gli oggetti, è composto da diverse parti. Vediamo le principali. L'unità centrale, che è quella che permette al computer di elaborare le informazioni. Il monitor, sul quale si osservano i testi, i calcoli, i disegni e le informazioni. La tastiera, che serve per comunicare con il computer. E infine il mouse, che serve per dare ordini al computer. Tutte le parti di cui il computer è costituito formano l'hardware. Ma per funzionare non bastano le componenti del computer che costituiscono l'hardware. Per far funzionare il computer bisogna dargli delle istruzioni. Queste istruzioni si chiamano software.
