Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep We're doing good. We're doing well. What can I say? On a kosher, in a kitchen where we keep kosher, have to keep a low cholesterol diet and the Weight Watchers, it's a pretty boring night, you know. They don't write any cookbooks for Weight Watchers, low cholesterol, kosher dishes. Yeah, so we eat sort of like the same five things over and over and over again. Like what? Fish and cornmeal with those beans, wonderful bean curry that I like so much. With the curry leaves. Yeah, with the curry leaves and the coconut. Bart can't eat coconut, I eat coconut. And we have spaghetti, all the different forms of spaghetti. You know, spaghetti on eggplants, spaghetti on green beans, spaghetti on... Whichever way you can do it. And baked chicken. And chicken adobo. You haven't had chicken adobo, have you? No. That's Filipino. It's so good. And it's Weight Watchers, so that helps. Doesn't that sound fascinating? Yeah. That's about it. That's it, huh? Vegetarian Indian, rice and dal with vegetable curry. Yeah. That's real nice. Well, that should be okay. I like that a lot. Yeah. I could learn to live on that. Twice a week. And I've lost 13 pounds. You haven't? No, I have. Gosh. I'm working. Mercy, thanks a lot. I'm working. I'm impressed. Yeah. Well, I gained, what, 11 pounds when I was there. Yeah. That's good. So you're down 13. So I'm down 13. I'm 138, which is 2 pounds under my goal. Yeah. But that's morning in the total nude. Yeah. So that's just about where I was when I left Madison two years ago. Yeah. Now if I could just keep it off, I'd like to lose another 10. Yeah. But we'll see. That's how much weight after you had Jeremy? 140, yeah. At night with my clothes on. How tall are you? I'm tall. What? 5'7". You're 5'7"? Yeah. I've told you about finding out how tall I am, haven't I? I know. I've been telling you for years you're taller than 5'9". No, no, I'm 5'9". I know you're not, Kathy. You're taller than 5'9". Because I'm 5'7". You're more than 2 inches taller than me. I'm 5'11 1⁄2". I'm quite tall. Yeah. I'm quite tall. Anyway. So, you have a boring diet, huh? Well, but it's working. Well, that's good. Then you just stick to it. That's right. If I could lose 10 more pounds, I'd be ecstatic. Yeah. Because that's where I should be. Yeah. 130 is just perfect for me. That would be good. Mark's nodding his head. I had to lose it because my husband kept on weighing less than me. It's a real threat. Yeah, that's a bad sign. We have a kitty. You do? Not intentionally. She adopted you? Well, the people here, when they have a litter of kittens and they don't want to deal with them, they wrap them up in a plastic bag and put them in the garbage can. Oh, dear, dear, dear. Isn't that awful? Yep. Well, this one was just meowing so loud, it was about 3 feet away from the garbage can, walking out of the plastic bag. Oh, dear. She's only about two weeks old. I brought her home, got a little model nurse. She's now about five weeks old and she's beginning to play. She's real cute. She's a calico. In another couple of weeks, we'll have to find a home for her, I guess. Yeah. That's why you're going to have a terrible time next year. Yeah, that's going to be a problem. Yeah. You'll have two little heartbroken children. Yeah. Eight months. Eight months? Less than that, by a week. Yeah, well, it shouldn't even be eight months. Why is it eight months? Well, Bob's getting married in seven and a half months, right? Yeah. Yeah. Are you going to come back for that? No, I can't come back. School's on. So you won't be here for that? Yeah, school's on until Friday. He's getting married Saturday. It takes longer to fly. Yeah. He knew that when he set the date. Yeah. And I told him, you know, they have to do what's good for them. And if that's what's good for them and they have to do it, weddings will, you know, a day in their life they can manage. Yeah. Yeah, I'd love to be there. Yeah, you'll see lots of pictures. Yeah, well, I'd love to be there, but the only way I could manage it is if I flew early and Mark flew straight back and then we wouldn't have a trip on the way home. Which is really a waste of a lot of air tickets. Mm-hmm. So you could fly early and fly back. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. For 3,000 U.S. dollars? Yeah. That's an awful lot of expensive weddings. Yeah. That's just the West Coast. That's not telling you what it would cost to get to Milwaukee. Oh, well. However, I could fly there and fly from New York to Israel. That's a cheap ticket, isn't it? Yeah, usually those, you can get those usually pretty cheap. Wow, are you going to come back to Israel this time? Yeah. I'll meet Mark in Israel. San Anthony. Maybe you should check it out. Yeah. Don't rule it out until you've talked everywhere. Well, I don't know what ticket costs are like from there to Israel, because here they just give you the straight book price. Well, they change all the time. Like, Bob had a ticket. See, he drove to Boston on Tuesday, and then Wednesday morning flew from Boston to Chicago. Because he'd gotten a really good ticket with $199 round trip and left his car there with Susan so he could fly back and be with her. He went to pick up the ticket, and they had a sale, and it was $99 instead of $199. Oh my gosh, that's great. That's nice, though. He got to come see John for $99. Wow, that's what a great deal. Yeah, yeah. Neat. You never can tell. Yeah, you really can't tell unless you're there. It's hard to second guess what it's going to be. Okay, hon, I've got to get ready for work now and do something with all this hair that's too curly. I don't know what I'm doing. Oh, I have to tell you one more thing. What I did for my birthday. What I did for my birthday. This is an essay by Pete Green. I went and had a manicure and a pedicure for the first time in my life. Was it fun? Yeah. Yeah. Boy, you should see what they do for a pedicure. She took her two and a half hours to give me a manicure and a pedicure. I got massaged all the way to my elbows and my knees. I got soaked and buffed and shaved and scraped and massaged and nicked and nipped. It just went on and on and on and on. The lady worked really hard. Are your feet wonderful now? Well, she didn't stop talking, she kept on saying, when you go home and tell your husband, feel my feet, they're so soft, they're so soft. So I came home and told her I had to feel my feet. She said, the hell I'm going to feel your feet. But it was a wonderful experience. It was 13 Singapore dollars. Which is what, about six US? Cheap. Yeah, I thought it was terribly cheap. Good deal. So that's how I pampered myself then. I got my hair permed. So I'm curly just like you. Just like me, yes. That's why I'm short and curly. Yeah, mine's a little different. Did Alicia's present get there? Yes, her red purse. Her purse, yeah. Yeah, we can't take it off her shoulder. What about her earrings and her barrette? Do those work too? Oh, yeah. Oh, she's wearing the red earrings. She's changed them three times now. Well, when did they get there? About a week ago. Okay, so a little bit after her birthday. Yeah, it was a couple days after her birthday. So maybe it's been 10 days now. No, it couldn't have been 10 days. That would have been right on her birthday. But it's been about a week ago. And she just thinks they're wonderful. The day when she got the card, inside the card it said, I would like it if we got a letter from you. I said, you know, I read it to her, and I said, you know, I bet Angie and Kathy would really like to hear about the purse. Her eyes got all big. She goes, yeah. Yeah. Okay, well. Now we'll develop a guilty conscience is what we'll do. It's because she won't get around to doing it. Poor honey. That's okay. All right. What? Well, she comes back from school at 3.30. Well, actually, she has gymnastics and Girl Scouts on three of those days, and then she has an hour to hour and a half of homework. So she doesn't have a lot of time. She plays for half an hour before dinner. We have dinner, and we put her to bed. That's it. You know, bath and story and bed. Yeah. So her days are pretty full. Yeah. Pretty restricted. Can you hear the cat? Yes, I can. She's real jungly. Yes, I can. She's just real, real jungly. Oh, perfect cat. Two jungly cats. I mean, just all prickles and prickly, prickly. Oh, perfect cat. Well, give my love, love, love to Uncle Rich. Okay. You get part of a big hug for yourself from me, okay? Okay. Okay. You got the letter, right, from me about meeting the Hawkeyes in Hong Kong? Yes, yes. That was wonderful. We had such a good time, Mom and Dad. We just laughed all about Reggie so much. I've got a mother and a mother who goes to every one of your games. Well, it's been going good since you were six years old, as a matter of fact. Anyway, okay. Say that. Gotta go, hon, all right? Okay. Okay, lots of love. Happy birthday. Thank you. Happy, happy birthday. Okay. Love you. Love you too. Bye-bye.
