The pastor discusses the benefits of waiting on God and shares scriptures from Isaiah 40:31 and John 3. Waiting on God renews our strength, helps us focus on God's purpose for our lives, and builds hope and anticipation. It also stirs up passion, desire, and intimacy with God. The pastor emphasizes the importance of a deep relationship with God and the need for repentance, baptism, and receiving the Holy Spirit. He encourages listeners to contact the ministry for guidance. Overall, waiting on God brings many benefits and strengthens our faith. Praise the Lord everybody. Once again this is Pastor Anderson from Overflow Outreach Ministries. We're reaching out to you. This is the third part of the podcast of Benefits of Waiting on God. There are great benefits to waiting on God in each and every situation in our life. Today's scripture is coming from Isaiah chapter 40 verse 31 again. We just thank God for keeping us during the holidays, you know Thanksgiving particularly. We just thank him for family, friends, acquaintances. You know we just thank the Lord for more opportunities to be about soul winning. God is great and he's greatly to be praised. Once again this is Pastor Anderson. You tapped into the encouragement corner once again. Just here to encourage you in the things of God. Everyone needs a little encouragement. Amen. Real quickly we're going to go into prayer. Father in the name of Jesus Lord we just thank you for your meaningful blessings Lord. We thank you for waking us up and starting us on our way. Oh God for that we say thank you Lord. We just come to you as humbly as we know how at this time. And Lord we just ask you to forgive us for all our sins Lord. We just thank you. Amen. For not cutting us off even things that we may not even be aware of oh God. So we just ask you Lord to touch our lives, touch our situations, be with us as we go to work today. Go in our communities today Lord. Continue to bless us, continue to keep us, continue to watch over us oh God. Watch over our children, our grandchildren, our families, our friends. Lord those who have turned their backs to you Lord use us as vessels, honorable vessels to reach out to others. To convince them that Jesus is the only way oh God. Lord we just thank you for the Holy Spirit. Lord we just thank you for the baptism in Jesus name. We thank you for the truth of your word oh God as we patiently wait for your return Lord. And we'll fail to praise, magnify and glorify your name. It's in Jesus name we pray. Let the church say amen. So Isaiah 40 and 31 it reads but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint. It's again the benefits of waiting on God. You know the first part was we talked about waiting on God renews our mind, physically, spiritually and emotional well-being as well. The second part was waiting on God helps us to focus on the purpose and direction for our life according to God's will. And then we also touched on how waiting on God creates humility. But today we're going to deal with how waiting on God can build up hope and anticipation. Somebody say amen out there. Amen. Waiting on God can build up hope and anticipation. The scripture says now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. I'm here to ask you today. What are you hoping for? What what is your expectation? What are you anticipating for God to do in your life? So listen, we have hope during the waiting period. The hope that God will use the waiting in him for good. That even if we don't get what we really want, we know that God is still good and knows what is best. I'm here to let you know. Do not be disappointed. Don't be disappointed at the Lord because God knows what is best for you. We have the anticipation of the good testimony that will come out of being still and waiting on God. So if you wait on God and be still, you will have a testimony in Jesus Christ. So once again, waiting on God actually can build up hope and anticipation. Amen. Listen, the second thing I want to submit to your hearing today, waiting on God stirs up your passion, desire and intimacy with him. You can get that from Hebrews chapter 11, verses one through three. Paul told Timothy stir up the gift that's in you. So when you wait on God, it's going to stir up that spiritual passion. You're going to find your desire and you're going to have a real close, intimate relationship with almighty God. Amen. The more time we spend getting to know someone, talking to that person, wanting to be with that person. Well, naturally create a deeper love and relationship with them. You have to get to know Jesus for yourself. This is true with our relationship with God. He doesn't want us to do a quick Bible reading and prayer as we rush out the door in the morning. Did you catch that? Just reading a scripture of the day is not going to suffice at some point. You're not going to have enough oil to stay on fire for the Lord. So God wants us. His desire is to be with him. He wants us to desire to be with him, to know him and his will for our lives on a deeper level. We cannot be superficial with our relationship with God because the thing is this. There were 10 virgins that Jesus spoke about. Five was wise. Five was foolish. Five of them kept oil in their lamps and the other five did not. In other words, the five of them, there were five of them that was constantly on fire for the Lord. There was something there that was burning. You have to have all you have to give God something. You have to have a passion, a purpose, a desire, a drive, you know, a press. Because the thing is this. If we do not press to get into the kingdom and stay in the kingdom, the enemy will press every single last one of us out of the kingdom. And so a quick Bible reading and prayer rushing out the door in the morning is not going to suffice. It's not going to be enough oil for any of us to be about soul winning. He wants us to know him. He wants us to know his will for our lives on a deeper level. So listen, we have the choice to take a deep breath, release our clenched hands and let God be God. Choosing to wait on God. You have to choose. You have to make that choice today. Are you going to lean to your own understanding? Are you going to lean emphatically, explicitly on the word of God? So I invite you today to continue in his greatness as we wait. Amen. I have a couple of scriptures I want to read before we close out this series on waiting on God. John, chapter three, verses three through eight, it says, Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus said unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit. And all will not that I say unto thee, ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth and thou hearst the sound thereof, but cannot tell where it cometh and whether it goeth. So is everyone that is born of the spirit. Amen. Acts, chapter two, verses one through four, And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as a rushing mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as a fire and it set upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance. Acts, chapter two, verses 37 through 40. Now, when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, repent and be baptized, every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remissions of sin. And you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost for the promises unto you and to your children and to all that are false, even as many as the Lord, our God shall call. Amen. There's someone out there today that's looking to repent and they're looking to be baptized and receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. If you want that Pentecostal experience, contact us at 813-770-9610. This is Pastor Anderson, Overflow Outreach Ministries. We are reaching out to you. If you do not know the Lord as your personal savior, contact us. You have to be born again. You have to be born again. You can't even see in or enter the kingdom if you're not born again. Do not let nobody fool you. You have to be baptized to be born again and you have to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It's just that simple. Listen, this is Pastor Anderson. I want you to enjoy your holidays. Continue to lift up the name of Jesus higher and higher and higher as you wait on the Lord, because there are great benefits of waiting on God. I love you all in Jesus name. Have a wonderful week. God bless.
