The speaker, Brody Book, thanks everyone for tuning in and discusses resources for online learning in a middle level math classroom. He mentions three resources: iExcel, Khan Academy, and Math is Fun. These resources provide lessons, videos, practice problems, games, assessments, and awards for students. They are accessible at any time and can be used in the classroom or at home. The resources allow students to practice specific content areas, work at their own pace, and receive accurate feedback. Students enjoy using these resources as they make math more exciting and enjoyable. Howdy everyone, my name is Brody Book and I would like to give a big thanks to everyone for tuning in today. Today our focus is going to be resources for online learning in a middle level math classroom. As a math teacher I want to make resources more accessible for students both in the classroom and at home. This can be a challenge but with technology today it is definitely possible. Today we will discuss some resources that can be used by students in the classroom as well as at home. These resources are not only available at any time, they are also fun and engaging ways for students to master specific topics and practice their mathematics skills. The first resource I am going to discuss is iExcel. iExcel can be used in any content area for elementary through middle school. This website is pretty awesome because it provides lessons, videos, practice problems, games, assessments, and even awards for students. My favorite thing about iExcel is it includes a lesson for almost every tic in the content areas. iExcel is a free website anyone can use and can be super helpful for students who need extra assistance in any content area. Teachers even have the ability to assign things to students in iExcel or students can navigate through the website and choose what they would like to review. The next resource I want to talk about is Khan Academy. Khan Academy is an amazing website to use in the math classroom for all grade levels. On the Khan Academy website content is organized by course and grade level so it is easy to navigate and target instruction for specific areas. Khan Academy can be accessed by students in the classroom or at home to practice specific content. This website offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and personalized learning dashboards for every student that allows them to study at their own pace. Another great thing about Khan Academy is it gives students and teachers an overview of skill mastery levels allowing misconceptions to be easily identified. Students enjoy working in Khan Academy because it allows them to work at their own pace and see the progress they are making along the way. This is a stress free way for students to practice specific content areas and receive accurate feedback related to their learning. There is one final resource I would like to discuss with you guys today. The final resource is called Math is Fun. This is a resource that I personally used throughout school and enjoyed using it to practice my math skills. Math is Fun is a website full of games, exercises, and worksheets related to specific math topics. This website can be used for students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Students have the opportunity to choose which math topic they would like to practice in and navigate through different items to help them master that topic. This website offers tons of free resources that students will enjoy and have fun completing. At the middle level, students love to play games so this is a great opportunity for teachers to incorporate games in the classroom while still relating to important mathematical concepts. Many of the resources are relevant to students' lives so it makes the math more exciting and enjoyable for students. That is all I have time for today guys. I hope you join in with me next time for more exciting tips for your classroom. Thank you teachers for listening and continuing to leave an impact on all of your students.
