We're continuing our theme this month of surrendering control to God by exploring how aligning our plans with God's will can lead to blessings and breakthroughs. Let me see a show of your hands, those who want to have blessings and breakthroughs in your life. I know with my coaching clients, women professionals and leaders, I help them with breakthroughs. We talk about getting those breakthroughs in our everyday waking, walking, talking life. And when we do, we find ourselves in a God flow moment. We find ourselves doing the things that we've been called to do and having the things we've been called to have. So let's continue the journey today and welcome again to Faith Alive in 5. Let's begin with the scripture from Proverbs 16 and 9 that says, in their hearts, humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. We're busy body in our own heads. I mean, busy bodies in our own heads, where there's like 16 lanes of traffic going through our minds simultaneously with a billions of thoughts being processed by our finite brain. We think that we are really in control, but we're going to find out since surrendering our plans to God's will changes everything and it will give you the peace that passes understanding. Let's talk about some stories of individuals who have experienced the power of aligning their plans with God's will. Matter of fact, scripture teach us that if we delight ourselves in him, he gives us the desires of our heart. That means the desire that is within you is coming from the one that you're fellowshipping with. These stories that we're about to share will remind us that when we surrender our desires to God and seek his guidance, he can bring about blessings and breakthroughs beyond what we could ever imagine trying to do it on our own. Who wants that? Let's look at Joseph. Many of you who are Sunday school students of life, you know about the story of Joseph. A lot of people who never went to Sunday school know about Joseph. Joseph's life for me is a powerful example of someone who experienced blessings and breakthroughs by aligning his plans with God's will for his life. And despite facing betrayal by his brothers, his family members, and oh my gosh, he went through slavery and imprisonment. Joseph remained faithful to God, just like Joseph did. Remained faithful to God so that in the end, when it was a wrap, God elevated him to a position of power and used him to save his family and many others from famine. He saved all of his brethren. You're talking about tribes of people, millions of people were saved in Genesis 37 because Joseph was strategically placed by God because of the sovereign hand of God. Yeah, being in favor of Joseph's life because Joseph was in favor of God's path. As you reflect on Joseph's journey, you see that how he trusted God in his plan, even when circumstances seemed crazy. How many of you are going through things and your life may seem a little bit crazy, out of sorts, that friction that we talked about a few weeks ago. Look at Joseph. What blessings came from his obedience and faithfulness to God? What about your own personal stories, your own personal testimonies? Think about the times and the circumstances that surrounded those times and you thought that you would never get through it. Look at you now. You're through it. Do you know people, there are people that we look at and we admire and respect and we wonder how did they make it? The other day I was in a local business and a young lady came in. She's graced with 91 years, still driving. She had a little cane, very strong in her voice. Her mind was just so strong and she was having this conversation with us about what had happened in a business and she was taken aback by it, but I'm admiring her and I'm respecting her and I'm looking at her and I'm thinking, man, look at who she is today. God, look at your grace. Look at your power. She's 91 strong. So regardless of your story, think about the times that God has placed people in front of you and you can admire the story even if the story is not exactly yours in the moment. You have one, you're just not recognizing it because it's cluttered with all of the other stuff, but you have strength that God has graced you with that you should hone in on. Listen, I got to go.
