The speaker starts by thanking God for the opportunity to gather and study his word. They pray for those who couldn't join and ask for God's love and comfort. They confess their sins and ask for forgiveness, while also forgiving others. They pray for the growth of God's kingdom and for readiness for the return of Jesus. They pray for a person named Robin and for healing for the sick. The speaker then discusses the concept of Jesus being foreordained before the foundation of the world and being the sacrifice for sin. They reference Bible verses to support the belief that Jesus is God and that he existed before creation. They explain that God knew and planned for Jesus to come and die for salvation, but individuals still have free will and are accountable for their choices. The speaker cites verses to show that God knows the future and declares new things before they happen. Father, we thank you, Father, that you have blessed us to come together once again, Father, to set our hearts on your Word, Father God. And we thank you for your mercy and your patience with us. We thank you that we have all arrived here on this call this night, Father God, and we pray for those who didn't make it tonight. We pray that your love and kindness, Father God, will strengthen us this night and that you will comfort us, Father God, and that we will gird up the lawns of our minds, Father God, and be sober and hope unto the end in Christ. Father God, we confess that we have transgressed your holy law, Father God, and we just beg for mercy, Father. But we also pray that we will repent of any sins that we need to repent of, Father. Father God, we also forgive those who have sinned against us. We pray for your kingdom, Father God, that it will continue to grow and fulfill its purpose. We are hastening the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We pray that our lives be found ready for him at his return and that we be not ashamed of him at his return. We pray for those who haven't obeyed the gospel, Father, that they will set their hearts and minds on your Word and obey the truth of the gospel and be born again by the incorruptible seed of the Word of God. Father God, we pray for Robin, that you be with her as she plans to travel, Father God, here very soon, visit with her family. We pray that your loving guides her and that you will comfort her and that your presence be with her. We pray, Father God, that you will help her and her child, Father God, to be able to speak with one another and love and embrace one another, Father God. Father God, we pray also that you will give those on the prelates who are sick and suffering strength and healing. Help us all to rejoice, Father God, and give you the thanks and the glory without the prayers. Father God, we thank you in advance without these prayers. Father God, we love you. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Amen. So we continue our list tonight over in 1 Peter. And we want to pick up right where we left off. And so tonight we'll be picking up with verses 20 and 21 over in 1 Peter chapter 1. Okay. So Peter had reminded his receptors that they needed to live in fear and be remembering the great price paid for their redemption from sin, which shall cause them to live and lead a holy life and keep their hope in Christ. And he also let them know that they can pray to God, which is an awesome privilege that Christians have. Okay. So now when we get down to verse 20, Peter begins to talk about how that the gift of Jesus was planned before the foundation of the world. So could our first reader read 1 Peter chapter 1, verses 20 and 21? Mary. Okay. He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but was made manifest in the last times of the snake of youth, who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. Amen. So we see here in verse 20 it stated, who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you. So now we get back to this word foreordained. All right. And this is the same as what we talked about earlier in chapter 1, when we was talking about chapter 1, verse 2, when Peter stated to his recipients, elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, until obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ, grace unto you and peace be multiplied. So he called his recipients the elect. All right. And they was elect because when they obeyed God's foreordained plan, God elected them. Okay. Now Jesus was foreordained before the foundation of the world. So this is saying that Jesus was already determined by God the Father to be the sacrifice of lamb for the sins of the whole world before the world came into existence. Okay. So the fact that Christ was foreordained, and that's the same as saying he was foreknown by the Father as the great sacrifice of sin, it also testifies to us the existence of Christ before the creation of this world. And we have a lot of false teachers out there that state that, well, Christ isn't God. He was just an angel. He was just a prophet. He was like Moses. And, you know, he was just a great teacher. But, no, Christ is God. Okay. He's God the Son. And he was in the beginning with God. Let's read John 1, verses 1 through 3. Lisa. She's getting it. I'm getting it. John 1. John 1, verses 1 through 3. 1 through 3. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him and apart from him. Nothing came into being that has come into being. In him was life, and life was the light of him. Right. Amen. So, we see here in verse 1, it states, in the beginning was the Word, and that is referring to Christ as the Word. All right. And it states, and the Word was with God. So, Christ was with God. And then it goes on to state, and the Word was God. So, Christ is God. And then verse 2 states, the same, and that's referring to Christ. It says, the same was in the beginning with God. So, Christ was in the beginning with God. All right. And then verse 3 states, all things were made by him, that is Christ, and without him was not anything made that was made. Now, if we flip our Bibles over to Genesis chapter 1, verse 1, it tells us that in the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. And as you go on, you see it reads about, and it tells you about the work of God the Father and the Holy Spirit in creation. Okay. But you would say, well, I don't see Jesus mentioned nowhere right there. Well, that name God right there in verse 1 of Genesis chapter 1 is Elohim, which is plural, meaning more than one. So, you have God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit present in the beginning. Okay. This is before the heavens and the earth was created. Jesus was in the beginning with God. And we can know that because we can cross-reference our Bible where we just looked at John chapter 1, verses 1 through 3. But we also can look at other scriptures within our Bibles that let us know that Jesus was in the beginning. And if we look at John chapter 1, verse 14, it states, and the word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and the word is referring to Jesus, and we beheld his glory, the glory as the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Okay. People got to see God's glory when they looked upon Christ as he walked the earth because he is this expressed image of his Father's person. Okay. But let's also flip over and read Acts chapter 2, verse 23. Okay. Verse 23. So Peter tells the Jews that Christ was delivered over to y'all by the foreknowledge of God. So this was God's plan before creation began because if it wasn't God's plan, they could have never crucified him. But God had already foreordained that Christ should be crucified, that he should be buried, and that he should rise from the dead. Okay. So Christ was already the great sacrifice for sin before creation, you know, before the creation of the world. Christ was already chosen to be the sacrifice of lamb, and he was made manifest. As Peter tells his reception, he says that Christ was made manifest, which means that he appeared, okay, in these last times to accomplish God's plan for the salvation of men. That was his whole purpose of coming into the world. He didn't just come on a blank mission, on a blank trip. He came to die and suffer and rise from the dead. For what? For our salvation. Let's read Galatians chapter 4, verse 4. Robin? But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law. All right. So when the time had fully come, God allowed Jesus to be born into this world through the seed of a woman. All right. And God became flesh, and he dwelt among us. All right. And let's look at Hebrews chapter 1, verse 2. Yeshiva? And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything through the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son, he created the universe. So we see that in the last days, God speaks to us by his Son, Christ Jesus. And the way that he speaks to us through Christ is through Christ's last will and testament, which is the New Testament of your Bibles, okay? But he also states about Christ, he states that he is God's Son, and then it states that God has appointed Christ heir of all things, but it also states by whom also he made the world. So we see that Christ was in the beginning, and he played a part in creation. And before creation ever came to be, God had already foreordained this scheme of redemption before the world was created. Now, this does not afford the fact that all men have had free moral right of choice, because some people will say, well, if God foreordained that Christ should die and suffer and that all should be in Christ, then how could he hold anybody accountable for sin? How could he hold Adam and Eve accountable? Because we need to understand that even though God elected the plan, and this is because he had full foreknowledge of what would happen in the future before it even happened, Adam and Eve were not forced to sin by God's choice, but rather their own choice, but by their own choice, you know, they sinned. Now, what I'm telling you is that God in his infinite power can see into the future and know beforehand what will occur. Let's read Isaiah chapter 42, verse 9. Tim? Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare. Before they spring forth, I tell you of them. All right, let's also read Isaiah chapter 48, verses 3 and 5. Tim, would you read that too? Okay. I have declared the former things from the beginning. They went forth from my mouth, and I caused them to hear it. Suddenly I did them, and they came to pass. Because I knew that you were obstinate, and your neck was as iron thin, and your brow bronze. Even from the beginning I have declared it to you. Before it came to pass, I proclaimed it to you. Lest you should say, my idols have done them, and my carved images and my molded images have commanded them. Amen. So, we see that God has total foreknowledge, all right? He has infinite power, infinite power, where he can see into the future and know beforehand what will occur. And that's basically what prophecy is about. His foreknowledge serves as proof that he is above all, and he knows all. There's one passage with Jesus where it's stated in the Bible that Jesus needed nobody to tell him about man, because he already knew what was in man. So, he didn't entrust himself to any of them, all right? God has total foreknowledge. Again, we discuss the same thing, how Christians are elect according to the foreknowledge of God. But God did not choose specific individuals for salvation. He chose the plan. And the plan was that, look, I'm going to have to send my son to be crucified and die for the sins of mankind. And I already see this before I create them, but yet I'm not going to leave them without free more choice. So, we see his mercy and his grace. You have one minute remaining. We see his mercy and his goodness and his love and kindness out there. He still created man, and he made everything good. And he knew that man was going to mess up, but he still gave man a choice and a chance to exist. And he set his heart on man, to love man and interact with mankind and have this relationship with us that no other part of his creation shares. But not only after we messed up, he came and made another way so that we can have this relationship with him no matter what. But it would be by all free more choice, just like Adam and Eve had a choice to do right or wrong. We have a choice to follow the elected plan, to be in Christ and serve God, or we can rebel and suffer judgment. As we come down to verse 21. Thank you for using Global Telling. Okay, Tim, what was that second verse you read in Isaiah? Yeah, 48, 3 through 5. Okay, just some context there that you can read to get in while Charles is off the line. Say again, Mike? Just start reading with 48, 1 until Charles gets back on. Okay. Hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel and have come forth from the wellspring of Judah, who swear by the name of the Lord and make mention of God of Israel, whether not in truth or in righteousness. But they call themselves after the holy city and lean on the God of Israel. The Lord of hosts is his name. I have declared the former things from the beginning. They went forth from my mouth, and I caused them to hear it. Suddenly I did them, and they came to pass, because I knew that they were obstinate, and your neck were as iron sinew, and your brow brown. Even from the beginning I have declared it to you. Before it came to pass, I proclaimed it to you. My idols have done this, and my carved images and my molded images have commanded this. Okay. So we see here in 1 Peter 1, as we come down to verse 21, Peter states to his recipients, he states that who by him do believe in God that raised him up from the dead and gave him glory, that your faith and hope might be in God. So basically what Peter is stating is that through Christ men come to believe in God. Okay. Because when Christ came into the world, he said he came to reveal his Father. Okay. And the scriptures have prophesied and stated that his name shall be called Emmanuel, which is being interpreted God with us. And Jesus said that if you have seen me, then you have also seen the Father. But it's through Christ that we come to believe in God. Let's read John 14, verse 6. Okay. John 14, verse 6. Jesus said to him, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Amen. So we see that through Christ men come to believe in God. Let's also read Ephesians 2, verses 17 and 18. John. Okay. And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access in one spirit to the Father. So Jesus came and preached peace unto the Gentiles and peace to the Jews. And it's through Christ that all men have access to God by one spirit. Okay. So we see the one, the unity. And it's through Christ that we come to believe in God. And it's through the revealed word of God, which is the work of the Holy Spirit, that we obey and become Christians, become sons of God. So it is through Christ that men come to believe in God. Let's also read that Ephesians chapter 1, verses 20 and 23, because we believe in God who raised Jesus from the dead and set him at his own right hand. John, you want to go ahead with that one? Yeah. Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things under his feet and gave him head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all. All right. And verse 20 stated, which he raised Christ when he raised him from the dead and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places. So we see that God showed his infinite power when he raised Christ from the dead. But not only did he raise him from the dead, but he set Christ at his right hand in the heavenly places. And this is what Christ is seated at today. And that's why he's both king and high priest today. And he reigns forever and ever. But we all need to understand that faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus is the basis of our hope of eternal life. Faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus is the basis of our hope of eternal life. So basically what I'm telling you is that if the man would have never been crucified and put to death, if he'd have never been buried and rose from the dead, then we would have no hope as mankind. He is the basis of our hope of eternal life. This is the foreordained plan of God that was planned by his determined counsel and his foreknowledge way before the world ever existed. So what I'm telling you is that Christ is the sacrifice of lamb for all sins, and it was planned before even one day of creation came to be. And that God elected that everybody should be his son who's going to serve him. And not everybody's in Christ, okay? Because we come up with all type of right ideas, with our worldly wisdom, how that we know that we right with God. But we got to learn survival and what God says that is right in his sight, how that one becomes a child of God, how that he declares righteous, how that we come in contact with the blood of a spotless lamb. Let's read from our last scripture for the night. Let's read 1 Corinthians chapter 15, verses 12 through 19, because we need to understand that if Christ hadn't risen from the dead, if God's plan wasn't carried out. Amen. Mary? Okay. Now when Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. We were even found to be misrepresenting God because he testified about God that he raised Christ whom he did not raise. If it is true that the dead are not raised, for if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is fertile and you are still in your sins. Then those who also have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. But in Christ we have hope in this life only where all people must be pitied. But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. Amen. So we see here that Paul defends the resurrection. And he had to defend his resurrection and let these Christians know because, look, this is what all our hope is founded upon. Don't let anyone come in amongst you and deceive you as if Christ didn't rise from the dead. And if Christ didn't rise from the dead, do you know that our faith is in vain? Then we preach a lie concerning the gospel because the gospel is the death, the burial, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And this is what we preach according to the scriptures, that Christ was risen and has risen and that he's seated at God's right hand and through him that all men and women can receive forgiveness of sins. Which means off his authority by being obedient to the teachings that Christ commanded concerning salvation. So if Christ be not risen, then the Christians who died faithful in the Lord, they are just dead and they are just perishing. The hope that they had to be risen at the last day is futile. And then if this is the case, we Christians who still remain alive on earth, this means that we are the most miserable people in the world because we don't have hope for anything. All this suffering we're going to go through in this life. Because people think Christianity is a life where they wear rose-colored eyeglasses and they see the world with twinkly eyes. But listen, you got to suffer before you get to glory. Amen. Follow the example of Christ. Man is born into this world in the tribulation and hard times. This don't mean that every day is going to be hard and suffering. We don't suffer like people of the Bible exactly. I may not go through all with power, but I'm going to have my share of suffering and so are you. But our hope is founded upon the resurrection of Christ. Because when I say that I believe that Jesus is the son of God and I believe that he was crucified, that he was buried, and he rose from the dead, I not only stated that I believed and I placed my hope in that, but I showed God I believed by confessing Christ publicly. And I repented of my sins, which means I had a changed mind that produced a changed lifestyle. Sometimes a woman will tell a man when he has been unfaithful to her in some matter, he will say, well, babe, I'm sorry. And the woman will say, look, I forgive you, but listen, you want to know what the best apology is? And she will tell him, changed behavior. So if we want to show God a sincere apology for the way that we've been living, we've got to choose to give him some changed behavior and follow the plan that he has elected in his son. But we not only got to do a mental commitment to God, which is acknowledging that he exists, and you believe that Jesus is the Son of God and just confessing with your mouth and saying, well, I repent, okay, but you still ain't came in contact with the blood to show God your changed behavior. Show him that you believe by being buried with Christ in baptism. When you are buried with Christ in baptism, this is when you receive that hope of a Christian because now you have received a new life. You have been baptized into the body of Christ. You have become a member of his kingdom. You have come in contact with his blood in the waters of baptism. You're doing everything that Christ did. Christ was crucified, and he hung on the cross. You've got to crucify the old child. Well, how do I do that? I've got to repent of my sins. Christ was buried. Well, how do I bury the old child? I've got to bury him in the watery graves of baptism. And when I go under that water, I come in contact with the blood of Christ. I believe that Christ had risen from the dead. Well, how do I rise from the dead? I rise from the watery graves of baptism. Christ rose to die no more. So does Charles rise to live a new life in Christ, to practice righteousness and obedience. And so Peter is telling his receptors that Jesus was foreordained to be the sacrifice of lamb before the creation of the world, all right? And he let them know that through Christ that men come to believe in God who raised up Christ from the dead. And God gave Christ glory. And that Christians ought to keep their faith and their hope in God no matter what. And this concludes our lesson for the night. And I thank you all for getting on and listening. And I just pray that the word of God works in each and every one of our hearts. Amen. Amen. Thank you, Charles. Thank you, Charles.
