There will be a night of comedy on Saturday, June 10th at the St. Jude Parish Church in Hopatcong. Comedian Jim Delacus will be performing along with Melvin George. Jim has been doing comedy for many years and has traveled to different countries. He loves making people laugh and enjoys performing in front of live audiences. The show starts at 6:30 pm and tickets can be purchased at stjudehopatcong.org for $15. Jim also does acting and voiceover work and has a website and social media presence under the name "Comedian Jim". He is excited for the upcoming show and can't wait to make people laugh. We've got a great night of comedy coming to Northwest Jersey on Saturday, June 10th. So it's one week from this coming Saturday. A couple of really great headlining comics will be there at the St. Jude Parish Church on Maxim Drive in Hopatcong. And joining me now here at the RNJ Morning Program is one of the guys who's going to be performing and bringing his stand-up comedy to the church that night. Let's say hello and spend a couple minutes with comedian, actor, and voiceover dude Jim Delacus who is with us here at the RNJ Morning Program. Jim, hi, it's Burt Barron. How are you doing this morning? Hey, Burt. I'm doing really well after staring at the back of my eyelids for about eight hours. Isn't that a great feeling? And wow, for a comic, comedian, and actor, and you got eight hours of sleep? I'm so jealous. How do you manage to sleep so long? Well, I'm kind of lying because I had a show last night and I got back at 2, 2.15 a.m. So... There you go. That's more like it. Don't be too jealous. That's a comedian's life schedule, that's for sure. Yeah, I got to bed about 3 o'clock, of course, but man, it's great to talk to you here this morning and we're excited about you're going to be coming to Hopatcong next Saturday doing some stand-up comedy. You're really an international guy. You got a presence in the States here, Australia, I understand, too. Let's get to know you and what do you want people to know about you? Yeah, I started off in Australia. That's where I'm from. That's why I speak funny. I was invited in 1996 to come here and do a three-month tour of New Jersey, Connecticut, and New York. I'm still here. Forty-five of the United States and six countries later, I'm still here and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's just been absolutely fantastic. I get to do what I love and there's nothing better than making people laugh, especially in today's climate. I tell you what, audiences do just as much for me as I do for them and I'm pretty sure every one of my colleagues feels exactly the same way. Yeah, something about telling jokes on Zoom, not quite as impactful as opposed to an audience. You hear one laugh followed by another laugh and then someone blowing their nose and then you're in the middle of a joke. Hey, Sarah, what are you doing? Of course. Yeah, something about a live audience and it's going to be a great night of comedy. Doors will open at 5 and we'll get the show going at 6.30. Again, it's a week from this Sunday, Saturday, June 10th. Great room that they have at the St. Jude Parish Church on Maxim Drive in Hopatcong. If you've ever been there for some of the great music shows and some of the other celebrations that they do, it's really a great room for comedy. So get your tickets now at stjudehopatcong.org. We are going to do some giveaways coming up next week, but listen, if this thing sells out, then you're not going to be able to buy any tickets. So you want to make sure that you get them and catch a great night of comedy. Jim Delacus is with me here at the RNJ morning program here today. Anything homesick? Anything that you miss about Australia, Jim, that you just kind of long for? Is it Vegemite? Is it koala bear bites? Or what is it? I mean, I love the beaches. You've got some nice beaches here in Florida, but yeah, I definitely miss the beaches. I miss everything being upside down. I miss the water going the other way. Mostly family and friends, but it's weird. Whenever I go there, then I miss it over here. I feel like this is probably a really old reference to what Martin Sheen said at the start of Apocalypse Now. He said, when I'm here, I want to be there. When I'm there, I want to be here. Pretty much it, right? But we're so glad that you're here with us and looking forward to June 10th for the night of comedy. You do some acting, some voiceover stuff. You do great impressions, by the way. How long have you been doing that sort of stuff? Oh, I've been doing that all my life. Isn't that right, Mick? That's right, kid. You're very good at it. I appreciate it. Yeah, I'm going to be there June 10th. I'm going to be doing some funny stuff instead of boxing. Oh, yeah, it's going to be real funny. You're going to be really good. You know what I mean? Oh, that's going to be fun. Oh, man, now I'm all set for June 10th. It's going to be a great night of Jim and his comedy and his impressions. Get your tickets again. S.T. Jude, Hopatcong. Get them before they sell out. Just $15 for what's going to be a great night of comedy. Comedian Melvin George is also going to be there, too. You're funnier than he is, right, Jim? There's no doubt about that. We're both different, but Melvin is so, so good. Yeah? He's a seasoned pro and what an amazing human being. All right. Well, I'm supposed to talk to him next week, so I'll say that you said good things about him. I said not to say good things about Melvin. He's the best. All right. Good. Good, good. So tickets are on sale now. $15. S.T. Jude, Hopatcong.org. And website, YouTube, you do all the social media stuff, right, Jim? Yeah, yeah. Where can we find you there? Comedian Jim on everything. Just Comedian Jim, one word. And you can go there and see me doing all sorts of silly nonsense. And, yeah, you get a taste of all the ridiculousness that you'll experience on June 10th. I can't wait. Are Jim Belushi and Jim Brewer mad that you got that web URL before they could get it? I couldn't believe when I got it. I thought, you're kidding me, right? Jim Brewer had to get this before I did, right? Good for you. Well, it was great talking to you this morning, Jim, and looking forward to just lots of laughs next Saturday. So thank you again for the time today. And you have a great one. And we'll see you in Hopatcong a week from Saturday. Thank you so much, Brett.
