In this episode of Life Unfiltered with Danielle Knight, five key reasons why people fail to scale are discussed. The reasons include limiting beliefs, lack of a strategy, lack of systems, poor time management, and lack of accountability. It is important to identify and challenge limiting beliefs, create a clear strategy, establish systems to save time and increase efficiency, manage time effectively, measure progress, and hold oneself accountable. Having a coach or mentor can provide positive affirmations and motivation. Hello and welcome back to another episode of Life Unfiltered with Danielle Knight. Today we are going to discuss five key reasons why people fail to scale. Have you ever thought about when you start something and don't finish it, why that is? Well, I'm going to give you a step-by-step guideline today to give you something to think about and possibly change up in your life. I hope this helps you or somebody that you know and know that it can help them. So let's just dive right in. All right, number one, limiting beliefs. What are your limiting beliefs today? What are you thinking orally about? What are you thinking you are not good enough to do? What are you thinking about? Those are your limiting beliefs. Are you limited because you think you don't have resources? Are you limited because you think you don't have money? Are you limited because you think you're not smart enough? Are you limited because you think you're not good enough? All of those things fall into this, number one. So the way that I like to combat before thinking about myself or others or anything else is to write a gratitude list. I've discussed this before in the podcast, but just when you think that you can't go any farther, you will not can. So this is what we're talking about. Write yourself a little gratitude list. I am so grateful I woke up today. I'm grateful I have a roof over my head. I am grateful. Now, listen, you may not believe it, but when you start to really think about what is limiting you today, it will help you in this process to try to scale to be a better human. So number one is your limiting beliefs. Thinking orally about a situation, thinking you're not good enough, all of those things will limit you because when you tell yourself something, your body listens. So if you say, I'm never going to lose weight, you're putting a limiting belief on yourself. You say, I am not strong enough to do this, to lift these weights, to join that gym, to be on a certain level that somebody else is. You're limiting yourself. So be careful with your words. Choose them wisely because your body is listening. Number two, lack of a strategy. Do you have a plan or do you just say, hey, I want to sell $15 million in real estate and go? No, let me tell you, I don't. I have the exact number written down that I need to sell every single month. I need to sell $750,000 worth of properties every single month to get to at least $10 million a year. So that's just $10 million. So think about how many houses. How many houses do I need to sell to get to the $750,000 or commercial or multifamily? What are those things that I need to sell to get to that point? What do I need to put under contract? Because 10% of all of your deals are going to go haywire. They're not going to come to fruition. And that's just something that you've got to make sure that your strategy or your plan, for me, it's real estate, has that buffer. So your lack of a strategy is the reason why you are not scaling forward. Okay. Number three, lack of systems. What are your systems in place? What are your long-term one to five-year goals? What are those systems? Do you have a system? This is going to sound really ridiculous, but I drink a green tea matcha tea latte every single morning with coconut milk and Stevia. It's my absolute jam. I put collagen in it. Love all the scents. But my system that I have in place is I get all of those tea bags already the night before in a cup, ready to go. All I have to do is turn on the Keurig, let the hot water run in there, and let it sit for five minutes. That is a strategy to save me time for the next day. So if I'm in a rush to get to the gym or I'm in a hurry to get to an appointment, I need to be able to say, okay, what's on your green tea? And know that it's going to be there. You can put it there the night before. So that is a very small, tiny example of what exactly you can do, but that is what I'm talking about the systems in place. Okay? So I modify my goals. Those are all written down. I look at those every single day, and they are efficient in my brain. So the process of building yourself into getting some strategies and systems in place will absolutely catapult you to be the success that you need to be, regardless if it's being a mother, regardless if it's being a wife, regardless if it's being the best real estate agent in the land. Whatever it is, you can do it. So just make sure that you just keep striving with your one-to-five-year term goals. So in that, what are some of those strategies that you can do for your systems, meaning, like, what roles are in place? How do you achieve that system? Okay? Is there a vision with you and somebody else who's on your team? Do you guys have the same line visions? Do you guys want the same things? Those things, roles and activities, will keep you from saying you will to do everything you say. And what I mean by that is I have a marketing executive that does all of my stuff, and she is awesome. I couldn't do my life without a role in my business. So I am truly grateful for that. But achieve your systems in place. If you can just make yourself a bunch of tea, tea bags, the night before, I know it sounds so silly, but it really helps. If you can put those dishes in the dishwasher the night before so they're clean the next day. Little things like that. I kind of give basic analogies so that you can understand that those small things amount to very large things in the future. So just think about your roles and your systems that you have in place. Number four, this isn't a surprise to anybody, poor time management. Do you need to have shiny objects in there? Yes, I do. I do have that. I understand that it is a real thing because it happens to me all the time. I've had to consciously work on it so that I stay focused for periods of time. And what I mean by that is I schedule my day on Sunday. So Sunday, I plan all of my things for the entire week. Now, being in the real estate business and being an entrepreneur, obviously, time slots change because people need to see multifamily. People need to see commercial buildings. People need to see residential. People need to see it all. And that throws a wrench into my, quote, unquote, plan, but I'm adaptable. So I make sure that all of those things have a support system with my roles, and I'm able to achieve the next greater thing. So what are your poor time management skills? Because it is a developed skill that you obtain when you react. Procrastination. People tend to procrastinate on exactly what they should be doing when you shouldn't just eat the frog. Do all that stuff in the morning. Get it over with. That's why I would suggest doing a tough workout in the morning because now that is one thing you've already accomplished before you start accomplishing everything else in your day. So you can turn decades into days if you manage your time properly. Okay? So just remember, do you want decades into days or do you want the struggle? I mean, the struggle is always going to be there, but you have got to choose to change that. I also have 5A, B, and C. Okay? So 5A is the length of execution. Okay? It's a bit inspired action behind executing your dream, your goal, my goal of $750,000 a month or whatever it might be. Okay? It might be a million dollars a month. It might just change next week. I don't know. But what I do know is I have the concept of grind. Make sure systems are in place. Evils are set out. I'm not going to accept it or just, you know, go to or remind me of weekly updates we need to do. So I'm really grateful for that. We have a new one that we've implemented, and it's the end of B report. So we can talk to each other and see separately what's going on. So I think B reports are really beneficial, not only for 5C, but also for me to understand where we're at and where I can show up to be better for us as a whole. So those are some things you can use as well. So 5B, measuring progress. If things are not getting better, they'll get done. Okay? So when you're not measuring your progress or you're not setting out a time to do, for instance, for us to do all these podcasts, we'll set out a time. We make sure that, you know, there are no distractions. So we are measuring that progress. We're going to do podcasting from 8 to noon today, whatever that might be. But that is a measurement of how many episodes and things that we can get done, and we kind of have a gauge from there. You know, you've got four to six episodes, et cetera. Then we're able to move on with all our rest of our roles and responsibilities and strategies for the week. So I say all that to say that if you're measuring progress, we're able to see how many emails are open, how many postcards are getting sent back, how many people are just sending your email to Jack. All of those things need to be measured so that you can see if it's working or if people are interested. So that's just something that I use. Now, your regimen might be different for something else. Does the baby like this food? Is the baby sourcing? Is the baby gaining weight? Okay, I don't know what that is for you. But what I do know is that you're measuring something at all times. But the number one thing that really gets people on the society is the lack of accountability. So the lack of accountability means you have nobody to keep you from doing what you should be doing. You need to say, yes, I'd like to still 10, 15. Yes, I would like to lose weight. Yes, I would like to be in shape. Yes, I would like my skin to be better, but I don't want to drink the water. All of the things, okay? So all of those things are a lack of accountability. But the one thing that I want to really hone in on is that if you have a coach, a mentor, or somebody you watch on YouTube that gives you positive affirmations every single day, this moral will fill you with drive, negativity, and loss of hope. Okay? So the world out around you isn't to protect you. It's to persuade you into having accountability in what you should be doing. Are you surfing the internet? Are you spending 10 hours on Facebook instead of doing what you should be doing, which are your calls and your check-ins and your making new connections? Because without connections and without accountability, you cannot grow. So that is the reason of why people fail to scale. The one thing that I love the most is that I have a coach. I've got mentors. I've got people around me that you are accountable. And what I mean by that is my coach, I need to have accountability every single week. I have a mentor. I have a mentor.
