Indigenous communities see reconciliation as building respectful relationships with non-Indigenous people. The Shikwemek people want to co-create a path to lasting reconciliation. Reform Industries and Shikwemek will collaborate for two years to implement Shikwemek's rights and title, make decisions together, and strengthen governance. Many Indigenous communities define reconciliation as a process establishing and maintaining respectful relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. The Shikwemek people define it as commitment to co-crafting a pathway to true and lasting reconciliation. Taking a cross-government approach, Reform Industries and Shikwemek communities will work together over the next two years to find ways to implement Shikwemek's rights and title, share decision-making, and build governance capacity.
