Before we start, we had a lot of feedback on last week's one. I don't know why, I think I shared it in a different place or whatever. One of them had a go at me because I forgot Alex Mann's name. I got Alex Mann's name and then I second-guessed myself and I said, is that Alex Mann? It is Alex Mann. Is it Alex Mann? And so I did one of them. So this person had a go at me and told me I was a useless twat. And then said, but you should listen to the guy that does the stats. Completely forgot his name. So I'm not taking any abuse. In defence of that person, because they're on my side, we don't actually say my name during the show. It's just Catboy. Well, they should have called you Catboy then. They could have called me Catboy, I suppose. I think Lee G will get his name said. Well, you're Big M, you're Catboy, I'm Lee G. That's the way it works, gents. But we've got a ton of stuff to get through, gents. So let's crack on. Let's start with women's rugby that slap ourselves around the head. Over to you guys, because I haven't seen any of it yet. I've still got it on hold. And, yeah, anyway, carry on. It was on BBC, wasn't it? He gets his cassette, he gets his, what are they called? VHS. VHS, puts it on. Rewinds it. The abuse I get, obviously. So, yeah, go on. So, Scotland last week, and Italy. What was it? Oh, fuck, I've done it again. I'm going to shut up. Yeah, go on, carry on. So, obviously, this weekend just gone, as in the last two days, I believe, was the first round of the Women's Six Nations. And Scotland came down to what looked like a decent crowd in the Alms Park. 6,000, I think it was, they said on telly. It was more than what Cardiff used to get, I should say. But, no, Scotland came down and they just went right off it from the start. And that just didn't help things when, you know, we've seen Edinburgh and Glasgow in this Celtic Challenge over the last few months, and we know how good they are. And they showed that that tournament has benefited them a lot more than it's benefited us with this performance. They skyrocketed from last year. They totally controlled the game. We had a chance to level at the end, really unlucky not to. But we went on 2018, and that wasn't a fair result on Scotland. I don't think they were well and truly winners in this game. Yeah, if we'd have drawn that game, it would have been a bit of a robbery to Scotland, to be fair. They were, I think, definitely the better team. I think they won it in the backs. I think Wales' strong suit is the pack, and particularly the front row is excellent for Wales, with Cecilia in. But there's no real pace in our back line, and Scotland were really clinical. So Scotland didn't, like, it wasn't like Globetrotters, Barbarians type rugby, but they took their chances, and they won it in the backs. She's so cool, calm and collected, and she's just, yeah, okay. Alright, taking it all in her stride, not bothered, not flustered. It was a big result for them, a huge result. Their number eight as well, Evie Gallagher, was excellent, I thought, for Wales. Bethan Lewis was the standout player, top carrier, top tackler. Obviously, like I said, the strong suit for Wales was the pack, and all of the forwards were good. It's just, like a lot of Welsh teams really at the moment, a bit like the men's teams as well, just lack of pace and detail in the back line to carve teams open. Unfortunately, the only time we look like scoring a try is when we get within five metres and give it to one of the props to try and drive over. But, you know, the scoreline kind of suggests it was a closer game than it was, as Mark said. But generally, I thought, I think, I don't know, Mark, if you agree with this, the standard of the Women's Six Nations has taken a huge leap forward for every team since last year. Like, things like the kicking from hand in particular, I think, has come on a massive step. That's what it feels like to me anyway. I think Italy didn't play well at all, but they were against the Red Roses, best team in the world. But, I don't know, what do you reckon? Yeah, well, bar in Wales, I would say that that's mostly true. I think the problem that we have had for a while is in our backs. Like last season, we saw a lot. We don't seem to have that up-and-out, top-end pace. We do have a bit of it now with Jasmine Joyce coming back from the Sevens. But, you know, one person on their own is not going to fix that problem. We do seem to have issues out wide. If we can defend that, we can defend that role brilliantly. But the moment they get to the 13th channel and they're on the 15 or they're pushing wider, we just struggle and we collapse massively. It's been an issue that, when we were in the WXV1 at the end of last year, it was something that the top-end teams, they picked up on and they put us to the sword. And we've come into this season, Six Nations now, and Scotland are the first team to have picked up on it. And they've done exactly the same thing. Not quite in the same manner as the likes of New Zealand and England can do. But they still managed to do it. So, I don't know where we go from here. I mean, obviously there is, you know, stepping stones to pick ourselves back up. But we do have to move ourselves away from that forward-orientated game. We do need to develop our backs more, like you've already said. The forwards are our bread and butter. They do that really well. Scrum, line-out, basic things that you want your forwards to do. And they're brilliant at that. And when we're delivering that front football, when we're getting possession, we're getting some territory through them, there's just no bite in the back line at the minute. And there are the players there to do it. Now, each of them are more than capable, it's just something's not quite clicking at the minute. Hopefully we see an improvement this coming week against England. Like, obviously, at the start of the tournament, England would have been the one game that we'd be going, like, you know, you never say this in professional football, we've gone, that's the one game we're not winning. We know that we're quite a bit off England. So I'm hoping that we can use this to try and find that, that bit of bite, that bit of spark, and put in a good performance. Because, Christ, we know third spot and qualification for the next World Cup was up for grabs. We're a step behind already after the first round, and this is not where we want to be. It's made a bit of a mockery of the fact that Six Nations teams don't all get into WXV1. Like, Scotland being in WXV2, Ireland being in WXV3 is just ridiculous. Absolutely shouldn't be the case. Six Nations teams should all be probably in WXV1, if not the top ones in WXV2. Yeah, I mean, just purely because of the number of teams that are in each division, you know, that's just not going to happen. I'm 100% that Ireland shouldn't have been in three. You know, definitely in two, you know, if we take three in WXV1, three in WXV2, I think that would be a bit more of a fairer spread. I don't think, you know, Scotland should be in three. Scotland, Ireland, or us, even when we're all firing on form, top of our game, are at that level where we can't compete with the likes of England and New Zealand. Yeah, and France as well. Yeah. It's just, obviously, there's concentration in scrum halves in Wales obviously don't go together. To be fair, she should have had someone say to her, don't kick it, because she was shaping to kick it for ages. Everyone watching is going, don't kick it. But she did. Yeah, you could see by everyone standing around her, they were all positioned for the kick. As if it was a planned exit, but, you know, clock's in the red, your two points down, you don't kick it straight down. You probably don't kick to compete at that stage. You probably go through the ball. Don't kick to compete unless you've got a really good chance of getting it. Yeah, that's what I mean. We need you to punch a few more holes because I think we'll do one or two phases from the... Scotland were panicking at the time because they're like, how are we in with a shot of losing this game because we've been mildly the better team. But yeah, I think the fact that we nearly drew it shows how good our pack is, to be honest. Yeah, they are the men's side. We've got plenty of backups. That's the main thing. We've got girls, we've got women who were in this, you know, 15 or 23 that can quite easily step in and not a single drop in standards. It's good to see that we've gotten forward somewhere in Wales. Yeah, Alex Callender had a very good game as well. She's a Sunday player. Natalia John, too. So, expectations then against England this week? I mean, is there anything other than just pride that we can take out of the England game? If you're talking pound for pound, Red Roses is probably the best sports team in the world in terms of the gap between them and the rest. I know they didn't win the World Cup. Could have been, wouldn't they? England, in any sport, love bottling a final. I think they bottled like six finals in 12 months across multiple sports in both men's and women's. So, but anyway, you know, the thing about the Red Roses is anyone but England, and I'm the biggest England hater going, but every time I see them interviewed, I'm like, oh, you seem sound. Which is really disappointing. I'm like, I'm trying to hate you over here, but you seem like a really great bunch. Really great bunch. Though it's going to be, this isn't a comment on Wales, really. It's more of a comment on how good England are. I think it's going to be a tough watch. You can't argue with that, looking at the way things are. I'd like to think that we can go up and target at least one bonus point. I think the hope will be we can somehow get two. I don't think we can. I think we could probably, we'd do well to get four tries out of that. And I think we are capable. But that's just where the difference is with this England team. Right, okay. Let's crack it off, let's start up in the Premiership. So, like we said, they were away in Mirtha. They had a good number of our boys in with them again. So, Sam O'Connor, Lewis Morgan, Archie Hughes, Charlie Tickham, Gabriel Macdonald, Yesin William all started. And there was Yesin Wood and Lucas Sotaro on the bench. And this game, it's going to have been one to really, really enjoy watching live because it was back and forth constantly. Ping-pong leads changing hands every couple of minutes. It seemed like the game ended in Mirtha, which was really disappointing for the Quinns. Sorry about the sound cut when you said the score there. It was the what to Mirtha? It was 36-34 to Mirtha. Really, really disappointing for the Quinns. How many points did Tickham get? Oh, Christ. Keep talking, I'll check. Again, it's disappointing for the Quinns because they came so close. I think it was literally the last play of the game that Mirtha scored and then got the conversion. If it wasn't the last play, it was maybe a kick-off. Oh, bastards. That score, for whom I use these things, don't name the Quinns players. It's just a try and conversion. There's no further players. There's a fix here. What's going on here? If you go on the Quinns website and you click on the report to the game, it shows all the Mirtha scores but none of the Quinns. What's going on here? Mirtha always posts their try scores. Come on, I'm dumped for some reason all the time. In lieu of facts, I should say that Charlie Tickham scored a hat-trick scored a try in the 79th and converted it himself in the 80th and then that was the game. Not the best. On to this week now in the Premiership. They are on Thursday night down in Newport. It's live on S4C and that's going to be a titanic clash. Was it 32nd? Yeah, 32nd. Both on 90 points. Other starless boys that were on show this week in the Championship West were Olly Claws with Ammonford, Alfie Evans 13 with Promeg and we had a couple of our under-18s on show for Tumble in Harry Thomas and Jack Moon. I know it was Jack's debut. I'm not 100% sure of Harry but under-18 boys getting their senior debut towards the end of the season is always nice to see. I particularly enjoy it. On to the actual results now. Ammonford won 30-28 against Tata Steel. That was a game that Ammonford really should have put to bed early on. Tata fought it back into it and they almost picked up a win. Tata haven't won in God knows how long so credit to them for actually stepping up. Fangenic won 27-21 away to Bonomine. Bonomine needed that. They needed to put in a performance against Newcastle Emlyn. They needed to show that they still deserved to be in that top four. They didn't get a win but they ran Fangenic all the way. In the next game, local derby, Kremith playing Newcastle Emlyn and it did not go the way I expected. Kremith 35, Newcastle Emlyn 13. A really hard one to take for a newly founded league. You can take him out, that's how it goes. All is not lost, promotion is still very much on the cards. On to this week, Newcastle Emlyn up at home to Trebanos and a big, big one. Narba, a travel to Brecon. I'll talk about Narba's game this week in a little bit. Who's finishing top, who's finishing second, who's finishing third. So that's going to be a titanic clash with Brecon. Brecon against Narba. Down into one west, Aberystwyth 136-15 at home to Whitland. The sign up beats it well, he's 50-28. Swansea does 172-5 at home to Hendy. Bellingpool 145-16 away to Penn Cloud. They're going to be a table team for Buddyport if they wanted to push on with their promotion hopes. It has taken a bit of a dent but just is what it is at the minute. Frictions for this week, Kid Welly are at home to Aberystwyth on a Friday night. Bellingpool travel to Hendy and Llanelli Wanderers travel to Whitland. This is an important game on both ends of the spectrum. Llanelli Wanderers, another bonus point win. It won't quite get them promotion but it will more or less guarantee it. If Whitland don't pick up any points, they've only got one game left and they're going to need to win it to have any chance of staying up. I don't know who to support on that end. I've coached through the Wanderers age grade but I don't want to see Whitland go down either. I'd rather see one of the teams from over the east go down. Into one west central now. Brenhamman, seven. Kendergill, 27. Brenhamman can't buy a win at the minute. That keeps them rooted to the bottom. Kendergill got promoted with that win. I guess one team was really happy in that one. Onto this week, Brenhamman at home again. This time against Glyn Eath. Should Glyn Eath win with a bonus point, they will be promoted. Brenhamman looks to be a very happy place for teams to get promoted this season. Into west now. Massive, massive wins in terms of promotion. Carmarthen Athletic, 30. Lacha, 22. Eight points. No bonus points. Brilliant. Brilliant for Temdi. That's a massive, massive kick in the right direction. Fishguard, 133. 19 at Haunton, 19. Milford lost 32-8 in Lampeter. St. Clair's won 26-0 away to Mumbles. St. Clair's are not by view of Games 1. They are promoted. Lacha can match them on points, but they can't match them on Games 1, so they are technically promoted. Temdi won 64-19 at Haunton. Pontyberyn, to Croyce again, Sam Knighted was postponed. Onto this week now. Carmarthen Athletic at Haunton to Croyce. Fishguard at Haunton to Mumbles. Lampeter at Haunton to Amethyst. Milford at Haunton and Carerig. And, another big one, Temdi at Haunton to Lacha. And, as big as it was, Lacha losing this week, so Temdi get a bit of a bit of a foothold. This is a chance for Lacha to just wipe the athletes straight clean and get back onto it. But, a win here for Temdi. It won't secure it, but it will give them a nice maybe 8-10 points leeway then. So, they should be playing sailing for the rest of the season. But, it is surprisingly quite a long time for some of these teams. If Temdi are going to pull all the stops out for one game, it needs to be this one. 100%. This could be the one that, when you look at how many games they've got in hand. St Clair's have played 20 games. Temdi have got three games in hand on St Clair's. Then, Lampeter have played one game less than St Clair's. So, Temdi have got two games in hand over Lampeter and are one point ahead. So, you know, the only team that can realistically do some damage to Temdi is Lacha. Mark, can you do that a bit more noisily please? Sorry! I was trying to sneakily do that. There we go. So, the only team that can really do anything on Temdi is Lacha and we all hate Lacha. So, you know, I think this is the week for Temdi to put the foot on the throat and then keep it there because that's how important this game is. Is it home or away? I think it's home, isn't it? Home for Temdi. Down Taywood Lane. You know, there's no parking in a site for Lacha. So, let's hope we can put them off on the way there. Down into 3 West A. Another big win for Lawn. 77-15 at home to Pembroke. They recorded a similar score in last week away to Pembroke so not a good couple of weeks for them. Pembroke Dockwinds won 28-23 away to Langa. Neyland against Halford West was postponed and Cardigan won 20-0 away to St David's. Onto this week, and this time of the season these clashes are coming in thick and fast. We know with 3 West A it's the top 4 who are fighting for the championship and it could literally go to any one of them at this stage. So there's Avery, Ron, Lawn, Cardigan and Halford West all fighting for that one promotion spot. The other game is 3 West A we've got Pembroke against Cardigan and again Cardigan they need a nice big win. With that win on the weekend Pembroke top Queens went ahead of Pembroke so when we talk about the community game and how important it is obviously being associated with both clubs Queens going ahead of Pembroke is it's earth shaking down this part of the world. It's Pembroke were division 1 all singing below the Queens and are just above Langham and Farnabother it's yeah it's not good in Pembroke Pembroke youth have just won their youth league but the first
