Overall, he encourages listeners to trust themselves, follow their passions, and learn from failures. Grand Rise, Willie Whittle, It Shall Be Dope. This is the pod, let's get into it. So a couple months ago me and my sons, me and my oldest and my youngest son got into a kick of watching older movies and you know we were Creed fans because that's the generation and I love the generational crossovers and carry-ons of a lot of the movies that happened so we were into Creed at the time you know watching the Creed movies and then you know the dad genius from my time frame has to say we gotta watch Rocky you've never seen Rocky we gotta watch it so they're like we're in like we're all in so every I think day for I think it took us six days to watch all the Rocky movies or seven or something but we might have skipped like one day and we didn't watch Rocky 5 because you know but so the concept of this pod is if he fails he fails but the main reason is because you know when you watch Rocky and you see Drago fighting Apollo Creed and um iconic iconic scene where you know Apollo wanted to fight he was driven to fight he that's all he knew how to do he was a businessman successful have family had love but he felt like without people seeing him or him believing in himself to fight anymore he was nothing and getting in the ring with Drago which was you know they thought it was light work you know just some Russian who you know young guy chiseled whatever you know it's gonna be light work until he you know met in the middle and and they hit mitts and he tried to slam his mitts down and he didn't move boom like he saw it a little bit like uh might be a mistake and then they continue to fight or they start to fight and um you know things get where it goes where it goes right it goes where it goes and it leads up to the iconic you know Drago left Drago right and that's that's the you know the combination that you know put Creed Apollo on his back and not only that but killed him right and Drago stands over Apollo Creed while he's down dying and Rocky looks at him and they all and and he says if he dies he dies if he dies he dies right and it was one of the coldest I mean the coldest lines I've ever seen in my life hit me in my heart strange I'm like sheesh like if you ever run into somebody like that then you know that it was for real like you know this ain't a game right I feel like that same conviction is misjudged right so he was definitely the villain in the movie definitely and if he dies he dies it's crazy crazy but then again let's think about it like this in the context of if he fails he fails the way that I you know portrayed it or imagined it was you have to have that driving force to try right you have to have that force to say I'm not going to give up and I'm going to do something and in the movie Apollo Creed was adamant I mean yeah to his wife to his kids to well not just kids but to his wife to Rocky all of them and he said I'm fighting there's nothing you could tell me you're not throwing in no towel I'm fighting I don't care what happened I'm fighting he made his choice he made his choice and the thing is you have to be able to be comfortable with the choices that you make in order for you to try to succeed in life in order for you to try to even see that next step in order for you to push yourself to see if you're the best if you're better than you know whoever you're trying to compare to which I really don't believe in trying to compare anymore I feel like we just all out here we just all out here trying to do the best that we can with the tools that we got right so he gets in the ring and he and he does die like he died but he fought for everything that he wanted right so if you fail you fail you but you fight you fight for everything that you want you know you fight for every inch no cranny whatever you find a path you execute the path you try you try and if you fail you fail but you get back up you don't stop the passion is supposed to continue to cook in your soul to say this is who I am this is what I want to do and if it's not what you want to do that's okay you're allowed to fail because failure is just a step of stone in the lesson you don't sound like you get to you get to take that lesson you get to move on to another piece of the puzzle you get to experience something new with the education and now the knowledge of when I did it like this here's what happened right so a lot of the propaganda that I get from my media and and and the stuff around me is you know continue to push continue to be great make sure you stay focused I do not disagree with it I don't as a matter of fact every time I see a post every time I see a billboard or some motivational speaker who speaks on trying to move forward in life or trying to get other people to move forward in life it's not that they have it all figured out they just tell you to trust the process and trust in the process seems like a very existential vibe that's like man you want me to trust the fact that I got to get up and go to work every day and then I got to spend more time to like an hour a day to try to work on my personal development along with juggling five kids and making sure that everything's taken care of and I got a whole nother like management system where I got to take care of my my my mom and dad and and all of them and I got everybody in my friend circles in my head and we're all trying to make sure that we all win you want me to trust the process yes that's what I'm saying you have to so there's no other way as a matter of fact the fact that you put all those things inside of your process means that you trusted yourself enough to acclimate these things to your daily life so look at what you're doing through life your outlook on life the way that you see things the way that you envision things changes how you may move through all of these things within your process you can't do it without trust doubling back to the movie Apollo had to trust himself enough he believed in himself enough to say I'm getting in this ring oh he didn't really care about the opponent until he had to care about the opponent until then it was all about himself it was all about him trusting the process and he did what he loved to do as he did it until the very end so it's not like he didn't live it right he didn't live he pushed through and he followed his process and his heart it is what it is we may not be William Buffett at the end of the day you know I mean or we may not be Bezos Bill Gates whatever it doesn't matter like the thing is you trust your process and you move forward with the stuff that you enjoy with the stuff that you love to do let your visions let your mind cook like let all of those things just say all right I'm gonna put the pen and paper exactly how I'm feeling today I'm going to draw up this this plan that I have I'm gonna put it on a vision board I'm gonna lock it in I'm gonna start trying to manifest the stuff that I'm thinking about right because I really feel like you know the hard part about our energies is that we are we push our energy to the direction that we're supposed to push it to and that was you know something that I not gonna lie to you still struggle with to this day like I'm moody I'm a roller coaster my cycles be my cycles be doing a Dougie sometimes and you don't know what what is happening and then sometimes I just be sitting crisscross applesauce over there in the corner like yo what's wrong with dude like I remember back in the day when I was on the bus going to school and I was listening to Beanie Siegel Memphis Bleak it was off the Beanie Siegel album and the song was called who won what and I don't know if you are a hip-hop head like I am but uh when I listened to this song this day in the back of the bus in the corner with my headphones on with my hoodie on and who won what and I'm just rocking back and forth and everybody's looking at me like this guy's crazy and it was just my vibe today it was my vibe and then that day was not a great day like uh I believe I almost got to a fight that day and I definitely got in some sort of trouble that day it was not a good day but I think I started it I definitely started that I caused that I was I woke up you know felt like you know how people say wrong side of the bed even though my bed was against the ball but I woke up and I wasn't feeling it and I got up and I threw on whatever I got on a bus and I'm like not today like I didn't feel like clowning didn't feel like talking and I'm just like looking out the window observing and then something hit me that song hit me right and I'm like man this is it this changes how I feel and I let it I let it overrule who I was at the time and snowball right we do that today I do that today I am very much a music empath if you will like the song that I listen to puts me in the mood to feel how I feel and it just is what it is so right now I let my Spotify DJ kind of tell me what my mood is gonna be in the morning I say all right DJ what we doing and then the first song they play is like usually something that I constantly listen to and you know so it's just one of those things that like I get put in my head daily just by the algorithm right the algorithm I let kind of dictate that sometimes but deep down I know what my process is I still get up I still make my bed because I feel like that's the first task I can achieve I know I spoke on that before and I have to have the energy allocated to do what I got to do that was my last part energy allocation we're not perfect we're not we all do what we can to do to do what we can and this morning I was I was blessed to one wake up with a chance as always observe the sunrise which I truly think is one of you know the blessings that we get every day that we take for granted and I was able to dig into like I'm a pre-reader for Olivia my dear friend Olivia Olivia Radcliffe check her out books podcast marketing like a mother she's on my podcast from a couple episodes ago a dope dope individual right very dope individual with my best friend to the end but I'm one of her pre-readers for her book and I read the preface today or introduction and I you know first of all if it's the real when you have a person next to you who understand and trust the process and then when you when you hear you see their body of work you're like you're something amazing you know I mean but what I read in her book was something that actually like it moved me like it was serious and I'm like you know what I love the fact that me and her are from two different walks of life that she pushes me I push her and she produces the same type of viewpoint idea model that I do it's crazy because cultural differences don't define us and I think that's what we really dig into sometimes because we revert back to what we know and what we know is what we perceive sometimes so if I think that okay well I came from a black neighborhood and she came from a white neighborhood there's no way we can mesh and then we have a conversation that puts us on the same common ground immediately and the same process success path and you're like wow like you throw all of those other things out the window and you know to loop that back around with the very first thing that I said like no matter who is in front of you you have to trust yourself enough to get in the ring you know there was there was times where I wouldn't even have had these conversations with the people that I that I call my care team my love circle now but you know you trust your your people after you have trusted yourself and you know Rocky trusted Apollo he felt the words coming off and hey I could do this I can do this I need I have to do this right and I trust me to do this and you can't knock that you can't deny that you know when he last round when he looked at Rocky he said you do not throw in that towel he knew what it was he knew what was happening and it didn't matter he got up and he kept going so that was the biggest part of that whole exchange that I got of course you got somebody who's going to try to hold you back beat you down feed you the lies that you may go through throughout the day that you know may not be a big lie it may be simple it may be the micro the micro aggressions that you deal with that work that just kind of bother you the little things like I got pissed off the other day because of something that I didn't get shown and I've been there for so long you know almost two years or why would you do so long right but I've been there and I saw something brand new that I was like man I could build off of this and I didn't have the tool to build off of this but I swear if I would have seen it before my whole outlook on some of the things that I've done would have been a lot different and it bothered me it bothered me and I'm like oh my god like what's happening I can't even think about you know how much of a reverse that is to me but then I had to get myself together and then I proceeded to move on right I don't personally you know I keep trying to tell people now I'm a control freak and it's just kind of out in open like I just got to tell people but so was Apollo but he didn't become the greatest boxer in the world because he was timid he didn't become the greatest boxer in the world because he failed once right he got in the ring many times before he got in the ring with Rocky on a on a promotional fight it wasn't even a real it wasn't even a real fight like it was probably a promotional fight this kid from this place some loser who you know does so whatever he was the town favorite who cares like he went in there and he fought and he fought the fight of his life and Rocky literally had like four fights before he became like the champion of the world like that's crazy to me it doesn't matter that's the story and they're sticking to it and I'm here for it because I'm a Rocky fan but it didn't matter because he had to trust himself and he had to trust him and believe in his process right he got to where he got to be able to make the statement that he wanted to make because he believed in this process so if you fail you fail if you fail you fail but don't stop greatness is in the process the light is at the end of the tunnel that's cool but I don't think anybody's ever touched light before so it's something that you always continue to chase it's something that you aim for there's something that puts you in the right direction got to trust your process and as long as you do that with love and it's through your mission to peace then it shall be dope all right y'all have a good one
