The 74th edition of the Festival of the Italian Song in Sanremo had some memorable moments. One of the most talked-about moments was when actor John Travolta was made to dance to an Italian children's song while dressed as a duck. There was debate about whether the presenters embarrassed him or if he took it too seriously. Another highlight was the cover night, where singers performed other artists' songs. Giulio's cover was considered the best by the broadcaster, but the public disagreed. Angelina won the festival with her song "La Noia" and will represent Italy at Eurovision. Her performance was energetic and memorable. Overall, she had a great message and staging. Her win was significant as she was the first woman to win in 10 years, representing women's empowerment. Hello everyone, I'm Cara Del Valle and welcome back to my radio broadcast. This February, as every year, the city of Sanremo hosted the 74th edition of the Festival of the Italian Song. It was a very vibrant edition, I must say, like every edition with the conduction of Amadeus. I selected a few peak moments to make people who haven't watched it have an idea of it, or to remember it for those who watch it, while we wait for the next edition. I think the most discussed moment was the one involving the very famous actor John Travolta. We were for sure all waiting for his arrival at the festival, but a lot of people agreed that the presenter wasted this opportunity. What happened? At first, they made him dance to the songs from his movies. Later, Amadeus and Fiorello made him dance to the song that you just heard, an Italian song for children, with even dancers dressed as ducks. Travolta literally threw away the duck cap and then he very awkwardly danced to the song. A big debate emerged after that, with people saying that the presenters embarrassed him. Amadeus later clarified that the actor knew everything he had to do, but the fact that Travolta didn't consent to show again the video of that dance suggests us the contrary. However, someone also defended Amadeus and Fiorello, saying that the actor took it too seriously and could have been more funny. Personally, I think he accepted at first, because of the big cash they offered him. We are talking about at least €200,000, but later he changed his mind. I would also have definitely preferred an interview, but I think that he didn't pass like a fun person. Moving on, another very talk about moment was the cover night, when the singers have to take a risk by singing other singers' songs. It's always an entertaining night for me, because you get to hear another version of the artists and sing together your favorite songs. During the cover night, the singers made us laugh, dance, but also almost cry. There were many good performances, but among them I wouldn't put Giulio's one that actually got the first position for that night. I think that Giulio's cover was the best of the night. I think that Giulio's cover was the best of the night. I think that Giulio's cover was the best of the night. I think that Giulio's cover was the best of the night. I think that Giulio's cover was the best of the night. I think that Giulio's cover was the best of the night. I think that Giulio's cover was the best of the night. I think that Giulio's cover was the best of the night. I think that Giulio's cover was the best of the night. I think that Giulio's cover was the best of the night. I think that Giulio's cover was the best of the night. Even if I didn't agree with the result, I think the public was rude. Even if I didn't agree with the result, I think the public was rude. And there might be also racism behind that, as someone suggested. They even asked him if he didn't feel like he stole the prize. A bit exaggerated, if you ask me. So, who should have won the cover night? Oh my God! You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky You are above the brown sky In general, the same people didn't appreciate her participation in the festival, but I don't get it because even if you don't like her, you can see she is generally talented and she is not there only because she is someone's daughter. This debate intensified after she won the festival. Let's remember this moment. At the final, in the top three, there were Angelina Jolie and Annalisa. Annalisa was awarded third place, so once again, the final match was between Angelina and Jolie. The winner was decided by public vote, a vote from the jury of radio broadcasters and a vote from the press. Counting the televote, only the winner would have been Jolie, so another polemic had started. Someone might disagree, but I believe it's fair to not leave the choice of the winner only to public vote because as we saw, sometimes people are not able to judge the song itself and it's useful to have an expert jury in the music field. But let's talk about the winner's song, La Noia. Even though the title translates to boredom, the song is not boring at all. It has a catchy rate which will not stop playing in your mind. Angelina did a performance full of energy showing off her talent. Not only she has a great voice but she also added some great dance moves and enjoyable choreography. Personally, I must say I also love the outfit choices. She wore ethnical and particular clothes. A lot of people agree that she has the potential to be an international pop star which is perfect considering that she will be representing Italy soon at the Eurovision Song Contest. But what about the lyrics? In the song, Angelina talks about how sad and boring moments can be positive. We should all take these moments for ourselves in order to appreciate joyful moments more. So overall, she had a great message and great staging so I believe that the win was deserved. What do you think? In addition, it was also a special victory because she was the first woman to win the festival after 10 years so I'd say it was almost needed and she expressed women's empowerment. I'm curious on how her performance will be at Eurovision. I would like to comment on that next week while we wait for the next Remo. Thank you for listening to me.
