Technology plays a big role in healthcare, bringing significant improvements to services. Smart technologies and devices like diabetes management tools allow for quick access and continuous assessment of patients' health. Using technology in healthcare can improve healthcare delivery, patient safety, and patient-provider engagement. Personal health devices at home, like the Peloton bike and Bluetooth scale, also offer convenient ways to improve health. Overall, technology empowers us to monitor and adjust our health, making it easier than ever to track fitness, nutrition, and sleep. Hey everyone, my name is Whitney and on this episode we are going to be discussing the importance of technology in healthcare and what effects it has on us today. Technology plays a big role in society these days and can be very beneficial in the healthcare world. The advancement of technology over the years has made the opportunity for significant improvements in healthcare services. Today smart technologies and advanced instruments like diabetes management devices have risen significantly for monitoring and controlling patients' health conditions with quick access and continuous assessment of patients' vital health signs. The use of technology in healthcare can improve the quality of healthcare delivery, growth in patient safety, less medical errors, and boost the engagement between patients and providers. Having said that, there are many different advantages of technology used in healthcare. Another way tech in healthcare can be useful would be the use of personal health devices at home. One of my personal favorite things to do in my spare time is to ride my Peloton bike. The Peloton requires Wi-Fi connectivity, so once you are connected to the Wi-Fi you are offered a wide range of fitness classes that can be accessed through the bike equipment as well as through the digital Peloton application. This has allowed me to have some awesome training on my own time and in the comfort of my own home. I currently use a Bluetooth scale to weigh myself as well. This would be an example of how tech can be useful while trying to better your health. The scale connects to the app on your phone and relays health information to the app for you to analyze. All in all, technology plays a significant role in healthcare today. It empowers us to self-monitor and make adjustments to remain living a healthy lifestyle. Wearable devices, health apps, and telemedicine make it more simple than ever before to track our fitness, nutrition, sleep, and more on an ongoing basis.
