Road America, Atlanta, and Mid Ohio Recap and New Hampshire Picks | Chasing The Cup Mini S1:E21

00:00-03:51

In this episode, I do a quick recap of the previous weekends' races and give my picks for this weekend's races at New Hampshire. Since I did not have the time to do a full episode, I decided to do an experimental mini version of the show. If you like this version, let me know. I would like to hear feedback whether you prefer this version of the show or not. Credit for information goes to NASCAR Media. Intro and outro are from NASCAR Racing 1996 soundtrack.

The host, Myrtle England, apologizes for not having time to do a full episode and proceeds to discuss the recent races at Road America and Atlanta-Mid-Ohio. She shares her opinions on the races, including the winners and some controversial moments. Myrtle also previews the upcoming races at New Hampshire and gives her picks for the Xfinity and Cup races. She concludes by expressing hope for a full episode next week and encourages viewers to like and subscribe. Hello everyone, welcome to a mini episode of Chasing the Cup. I'm your host, Myrtle England, and this is a mini version of Chasing the Cup. Because I did not have the time last week to do a full episode. So, I'm just going to go over a few things, and then I'm going to be done with this mini episode. First, let's talk about the Road America weekend. I'd say the weekend itself for the racing was pretty mediocre. A lot of people had hype behind Road America and said it was the best road course. After this race, I'm not sure about that. I'd say Koda and the Charlotte Roll are the best in my opinion because of how the land out is. Meanwhile, Road America, in my opinion, is just too long and it's too wide. Tyler Ehrdich, of course, got his first win. Happy for him. Of course, earlier this week he said that he's leaving RCR with a nasty break up and all that. He was more focused on getting more wins and making that most to more runs for the title. And then, Kyle Giffords had his most impressive win to that point against Kyle Larson. That was pretty impressive, but not impressive was Noah Gregson's no talent moment with Sage Kerham when he just hooked him on the straightaway and caused a major accident. I'm fine with Noah Gregson doing some paint back, but not in that particular spot. And I'd say the fun was probably fine. You don't want to inflate the numbers just because you were outraged. So that's it for the Road America weekend. From what I've heard, it's going to get replaced with Chicago with a street course. But I don't know how I could say how that race would go, but we'll have to see. Now the Atlanta-Mid-Ohio weekend. The Cup race was really good. I'd say better than the spring race. Chase Dillian got the win by putting that block on Corey Lejoy. I'd say it was a perfectly fine block on Chase Dillian. It wasn't that bad of a block like Larson did on him or Sendrick's block on Blaney. And then Ross Chastain once again being an idiot, running everyone. Everyone from Eric Almora to Danny Hamlin was mad at him. And then Xfinity, it's great to see Austin Hill get the win, but Xfinity was just not as good because they probably had that intermediate package with restrictor plates. Now I don't think it really works. It really does not. And then at Ohio, it's great to see Parker Klingerman get the win. And that race was really good. I'd say probably the best pro course race for the trucks besides Koda. And also Haley Dean gets her second top ten in her career, which is the most of any female in that series, which is great to see. She is probably the most successful female besides Danica Patrick in NASCAR. And so now with those races out of the way, let's do our little preview. I'm not going to talk about the race names. I'm just going to go with the picks. It's New Hampshire, so for my Xfinity pick, I'm going to go with Trevor Bayne. Trevor Bayne's running really well. And after, from what I've heard from practice today, he seems very good about it. He qualified fifth, so I think he'll get the victory at New Hampshire. Finally for Cup, I'm going to go with someone off the beaten path. I'm going to go with Christopher Bell. He has never lost an Xfinity race at this track. So I think that'll carry over the Cup. Almost didn't last year, but Eric Amorola got the win. I don't see it this time, but I think this time, Christopher Bell will get the victory at New Hampshire. And so that's it for this week. I'm at this point that I can't do a full episode this week, but hopefully I'll do that next week. I'll take a look at my schedule. If I can't, I'll just do another one of these. So if you enjoyed this episode, please like and subscribe for more. And if you're going out to New Hampshire this weekend, go have a good time. And if you're not, have a good time wherever you are. I'll see you next week.
