Bueno-Torrones coming to you today from El Paso, Texas, with the podcast 86,400 Seconds. Live today like it's your last. Hope you're doing well today, whether you're on your commute or you're off, because it's Friday, first day of the weekend. Hope you're enjoying yourself today. Today's been a, it's been a good day got to go spend some time in the classroom with my youngest son, Diego, over here in Tipton Elementary. So it was bring your dad to school day. So it's good because obviously we know parents are important, but dads play a crucially important part in the lives of their sons and daughters. So that was pretty cool to actually get to join him today, spend about an hour in class, kind of see what they do, play some games, meet the teacher, see some of his friends. So yeah, if you get a chance to, you know, go to school with your son or daughter, you know, number one, I'm sure they'll be super happy and super great to see you. You know, and of course it's hard, whether you're in the military, you work in, you're a law enforcement officer. I mean, sometimes it's hard to take time off, especially with today's economy and inflation, to go spend some time. But, you know, I heard at the end of the day, you know, you only get, you know, 75 summers, 75 birthdays, you know, you don't get a whole lot of time, and time, you know, it fleets fast. And before you know it, they're in middle school, high school, college, and then they're growing young men and women. So yeah, I would definitely encourage you to try to spend as much time as possible with them, even though I know it's, I know it's difficult. But yeah, so I hope you have some plans this weekend, plans to, you know, take a break and maybe do some, do some reading, get a little bit of time to yourself, if you can, to kind of recharge, spend time with your friends, go see some sports, you know, whatever it is, right? You know, the weekends, they're always too short, they're never long enough. But hopefully, you know, you get some time during the weekend, Saturday or Sunday, to kind of have a little bit of time with your friends, your family. But equally important is, you know, take some time to yourself and spend some time just gathering thoughts, preparing for the next day. You know, this podcast journey is just the beginning for us, obviously. We're episode number three now, and we're going to keep on doing this. I think it's crucially important for us to live like it's our last day. Because we never know, right? We never know if it's going to be our last day or not. And also, I found that living day to day is actually a pretty good way to do it, right? You're not focusing on the future too far ahead. You know, you're just living in the moment, you're living today for today, you're enjoying today, spending time with people that matter, being kind to your fellow neighbor. But yeah, you know, it's crucially important to live every day intentionally, because you never know, right? We've all lost people. You know, we never knew we were going to lose. You know, real quick story, when I was in Iraq, I had a guy come down to supply when I was in Ramadi, come down, get some stuff, talk to him. I was like, hey, what's up? How's it going? You know, deployment's been a while. And then about two hours later, the base got attacked by an RPG. And he was in the area and actually passed away. So I was like, holy crap, I just saw this guy. I'm never going to see him again. Great Marine. So you just never know, man. Life is precious, right? You never know what's going to happen. Now, last time we talked a little bit about leadership, you know, leadership and leading people and being in charge of people, you know, it truly is an honor and a privilege. So as a leader, you know, got to be involved, you got to ask some questions, got to see how your people are doing. You know, I love the undercover boss show, because it actually lets bosses get out and kind of find out what the heck is going on, right? Sometimes you get in a cubicle, you get in those C-suite offices, you're a manager, and you kind of just lose sight of the people below you and really what they're going through, you know, and you can't forget, right? You have more responsibility, so you can't forget what they're going through. So sometimes it's good just to get out there and see them, see how they're doing, what they're going through, because obviously, no company, no corporation is anything without their employees. And sometimes I will tell you that it is my opinion that CEOs that are getting paid a lot of money, they kind of forget where they came from. They kind of forget what it's like to be, you know, a lower level worker. And it's good to kind of just, you know, re-engage and remember what it's like to be, you know, not in charge. You know, you got responsibilities and it's hard for you, but it's equally hard, if not more hard, for your employees. So, you know, just remember, you know, leadership is truly a privilege. It's truly an honor. It's not about the money, the title position. But yeah, you gotta take time and you gotta get out and see your employees and see what's going on. But yeah, you know, I'm on this journey to kind of start podcasting, start speaking a little more, kind of telling my story. I want to tell people that, you know what, life is tough, but it can be easier if you do it with people that you care and trust. If you take care of people, if you stay focused on your health, you stay focused on today, you know, it can be a lot easier. You know, and these hard times are okay. It's good to have hard times. It's good to be challenged. It's good to be, you know, kind of beating up a little bit. You're resilient. You can do it. You will do it. You just gotta stay focused. Stay in the fight. If you get knocked down, get back up. You're never gonna win. You're never gonna succeed if you get knocked down and stay down. So we gotta get up. We gotta keep fighting. And these hard times, they'll pass. They always do. You always have highs and lows. You just gotta roll with it. Roll with the punches, as they say, and just keep on fighting and stay consistent. You will get through these hard times. They will get easier. You will get through them. You will be successful. And these hard times, these challenges, they're gonna make you better. They'll make you more resilient. They'll make you stronger. They're gonna give you some experience that you can pass on to somebody, hopefully. But hard times are a good thing. So don't look at them as a negative thing. It's all about perspective. You know, Mondays, everyone's like, oh, Mondays. You know, Mondays suck. It's a Monday. I think Mondays are great. It's a great day to look forward to the rest of the week, to start the day in a positive mental attitude. But yeah, of course, if you look at Monday as being a crappy day, it's probably gonna be a crappy day. So it's all about positive mental attitude. It's all about mindset. It's about perspective. So yeah, Mondays are a great day. It's just the beginning. And also, hard times, they don't last. But hard men and women do. And as Americans, we are hard men and women. We are a young country. We've been through a lot of stuff, and we survived. We're going through a lot of stuff right now as a country, and we're gonna survive. So just stay the course, keep fighting, don't give up, and do what you gotta do, which is keep going. So this is episode three of many. I would just ask that when we get on iTunes here in the next couple days, probably next week, I will let you know. And if you could let your friends, family, coworkers know about us, we're at 86,400 seconds. Live today like it's your last. If you just share our podcast so that we can continue to lead, motivate, and inspire more people and kind of spread our story. You want people, everyone to realize that if today was your last day, how would you live it? Would you live it intentionally? And even if it's not your last day, you never know. Live every day intentionally. Be kind to your neighbor. Pass on knowledge. It does no good to have all this knowledge unless you pass on and you mentor and lead people. So I want to thank you for spending this last eight to ten minutes with us. Hope you have a great weekend. Hopefully your week was awesome, and we definitely appreciate you tuning in with us. All right, have a great day.
